  • Much Nicer Than Expected ~ A Great Value For The Price
My Queen Bed from Best Priced Mattress arrived today, & while it is still airing out, I can tell you that I am very impressed so far. I uploaded a picture to the customer image gallery so people what the Queen Size looks like. This mattress expanded to its full 8" height in about 6 hours, but I cannot sleep on it yet, because of the intense chemical odor. I did lay down on it to "test drive" it for a while, & I am pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it is. I was leery of buying this bed because I have been sleeping on an airbed for 2 years, & I expected a foam mattress to feel like laying on a concrete slab in comparison - but it isn't. Not at all. It is not like the horrible foam mattresses I've encountered in motels & guest beds & spent sleepless nights on in the past. This is actually really nice. All of the foam beds I've experienced felt like a foam mattress topper laying on a sidewalk, so I was afraid to invest much, but this bed is actually quite agreeable. Keep in mind, it's not like spring mattresses which have a resistive bounce to them - & it does kind of squish around you & cradle your form where you lay (which some people don't like)...but the mattress I was sent is neither too firm nor too soft - it really is just about right. I sink into the body-conforming top layers just the right amount, without feeling like I am "bottoming out". All of my pressure points sink in at the right depths, in the right places. There may be truth to the notion that the thinner memory foam mattresses are more comfortable, compared to thick 12" mattresses, because the thinner beds lack the dense 6-8" resistive base layer of foam that makes the thicker beds so firm. When I tested it out, I was enjoying the sound of the vertebrae in my back popping back into place so much that I hated to get up... It felt great, & only my asthma drove me off the bed. About the chemical odor, I would recommend that those with allergies, asthma, & hypersensitivity to chemicals set up alternative sleeping arrangements for 4 or more days to allow this mattress to fully air out. You don't notice it right away after unwrapping the bed, but the more it expands, the stronger the odor becomes. I also bought this bed a zippered vinyl mattress cover as an allergy blocker, so together the two of them smell like the interior of a new car, splashed with a bucket full of paint... : } I shut the mattress in the bedroom, & I air it out with a fan about 4 times a day. I put the ailing airbed in the living room to use while I transition to the new bed. I have had 4 airbeds suddenly go flat in the middle of the night in less than 2 years, so for me it's worth the wait to air out just 1 memory foam mattress once - rather than 1 new air bed about every 6 months, all of which smelled every bit as strong as this bed does. Some people shaved off 1 Star for the stench, but I am giving it the full 5 Stars, because it is so unexpectedly comfortable. I never knew a memory foam mattress could feel this decent. I was terrified of how bad this was going to be, & actually almost canceled the order, but so far it's actually very nice. I manage fibromyalgia, arthritis, upper & lower back pain, & recurring nerve pain in my arms, & I think I am going to do quite well sleeping on this mattress. I have a feeling that the more I sleep on this bed, the more my back is going to realign itself to where it's supposed to be. King Size was unavailable when I made my purchase, which I prefer, but I think Queen is about the largest mattress one small person in chronic pain can lug around by themselves if I ever have to move again. One Major Con: Best Priced Mattress really needs to use better quality cardboard boxes to ship their mattresses. My box ripped open in transit, & apparently hit the ground quite hard, then at some point was retaped. When it arrived, the box contents were full of FedEx truck grime, exhaust stink, & about 10 pieces of large limestone gravel rattling around in the box. That is NOT cool, but the bed itself was sealed in its own bag, & although the bag was cruddy, & got my floor dirty, the mattress itself was not affected by the mess. Best Priced Mattress...if you really believe you make a great product...please ship it to the customer with the respect it deserves. 11/14/11 Update: The mattress & vinyl casing did take 4 full days for all of this to air out. The vinyl cover was actually more pungent & took longer to air than the mattress itself, despite having already aired it out for 2 days in my car before the mattress arrived. After 3 days passed, all I could smell was the vinyl. Really give things time to fully air out, & know that unlike regularly replacing airbeds, you'll only have to do this once. After 4 days, everything was fine. I've slept 2 nights on the new mattress, & one thing I notice is the bed really holds body heat much better than my 18" airbed, which always remained as warm or cold as the air in the room. Even though my mattress is currently lying on a tile floor, I was quite warm when I woke up, & without needing extra blankets or heating. Outdoor temps are below freezing, so it's nice, but when we return to 5 months of temps above 90F, this may be a challenge. This bed also works pretty good for sitting on propped up against pillows with a laptop PC or a book. The best thing I can report is I have not been waking up in pain because of the mattress. It feels totally different to sleep on compared to my airbed, but I wake up feeling pretty good. Overall so far, I am quite happy with this purchase. 12/20/11 Update: I love this mattress. My lower back pain has improved dramatically. It has straightened out & aligned the vertebrae in my back like nothing else I've found, except maybe my old semi-waveless water bed. Lying on it also gives the nerve pain in my arm a break. Alleviating chronic FM/arthritis pain helps the pain centers in the brain to shut down, & quit firing...which in turn promotes restorative sleep. This has been like no-hassle physical therapy for my back. Also, unlike airbeds, it is cozy on cold nights. And I no longer fear 3am *deflations*... The chemical odors are long gone. I now ask it, where have you been all my life... lol I am very glad I took the risk & bought one. This bed was a lucky find. ... show more

  • This is a really good mattress that I sleep on and I am very glad I purchased it.
Size: 8 Inch Style: Full Pattern Name: Mattress
I waited a while to sleep on this to review. I am very pleased with the purchase of this mattress, here is why: It is sooooo comfortable. Okay the package comes to the door and it is not large. I brought it in the house with no problem at all. The mattress is vacume sealed in plastic. This was easily removed by me. I let it unfold and following instructions waited for it to expand an entire day and night. Mine did not stink. The next day I placed it on my box springs and added a 1 inch cool touch memory foam topper I got 2013 black friday for $20. Made the bed and layed down. ( I personally like that I no longer have to climb up into my bed!!! My stearns and foster coil {13 years old} I almost needed a step ladder.) Yes if you sit on the edge, the edge it does scrunch down- it is foam with no coils to hold it stiff, but this is firm not like the old kind of foam that totally squashes. The first night I could have sworn the bed was rocking me slightly -no I did not drink and no I did not sink into it like a taco as some have complained. I think it was just the difference from coil to foam and being really tired that day. I also noticed that as I relaxed my back was popping and I could feel the muscles being stretched as the matress conformed to my body. I also noticed that I did not feel as uncomfortable in the hip or shoulder area on this mattress as I did on my stearns and foster coil mattress. This went on for about a week. I can honestly say that I am not stiff when I get out of bed anymore. And I just could not see spending thousands for either an adjustable air matress or different foam mattress. So I would purchase this again and have recommended this to freinds who are also begining to age and have arthritis in their spines and other bones. I was leary about buying a mattress without laying on one, However I am very satisfied with this mattress that I recieved and am now sleeping on. I am more flexable and had no idea that a mattress could make such a difference in my muscles---the tension and hardness.....if you touch my neck and shoulders now there is give, not like a hard counter or cement with no give. ... show more

  • Doooo Eeeeeet!
Size: 8 Inch Style: Queen Pattern Name: Mattress
I was worried about getting a mattress on Amazon, but after reading through the reviews I decided to take a shot. I'm SO glad I did! This is only after the first night, but I can already tell a huge difference. I am almost always tired even after a full night of sleep, and waking up this morning I felt better than I have in a LONG time! The only downside was that the bed is so comfy I didn't want to get up! It comes all wrapped up, and you just roll it out where you want it. When you take the plastic off it immediately starts expanding. It was full size in about a minute! The bed is more firm than I thought it would be, but it's a good firm, not like you're sleeping on a board firm. When you lie down it's like you're on a cloud, and that doesn't change the whole night! The firmness comes from the fact that once you sink into a comfortable position, you don't fall to the bottom. It was only hot when I was all wrapped up in the covers, and that is the case for me on my normal mattress (you have to have a foot sticking out of the covers right). I also had to climb to my side of the bed, which felt a little like crawling through sand, but I think that's more of me having to get used to this kind of mattress rather than an actual problem. I know a lot of people mentioned that they had a smell when they opened it. There was just the slightest inkling of a smell when I actually pushed my nose into the mattress to smell it, but other than that it wasn't even noticeable. I also got Sleep Tite by Malouf® Hypoallergenic 100% Waterproof Mattress Protector (from Amazon) to go on it, so that could have added to why I didn't have as much of a smell as others. It says to let it sit for 48 hours, but I'll be honest, I opened it at 7:30 last night and went to bed on it at 11:30 last night, and we had no problems. I also have DHP Bali Metal Bed frame in queen size, and the mattress fits on it perfectly. I will update this review once I have more time to get the full experience, but after night one this is the best $220 I've spent in a very long time. Shipping was also great! Sometimes when it's something big, even when it's Prime, it takes longer than 2 days. But this came quick and in the early afternoon on the second day. It was a bit heavy but my husband did manage to carry it in the house and to our bedroom so it's not super crazy. If you're like I was, and afraid of getting a mattress on Amazon, or switching from a regular mattress to a memory foam, I can say that it is one of the better choices I have made! ... show more

  • Like sleeping on a cloud, finally excited for bed again
Size: 8 Inch Style: Twin Pattern Name: Mattress
Compared to my last mattress this green tea infused memory foam mattress is like sleeping on a cloud. I went from sleeping on a mattress with springs that made my joints ache to a silent mattress that conforms around my body and finally lets me rest at night with the perfect amount of soft to firm. Bonus points for no more noisy springs in the mattress when I am getting up and down. I am also a very warm sleeper who deals with the texas heat alot and I can say so far, even with a light weight comforter it is definitely not too warm. The size is a twin, which is accurate to what I ordered however I took off a star because the description said 8inches and even when I left it out to expand for 72 hours as instructed it only ended up being 6 or 7 inches in thickness.. I was a bit disappointed but the price was still a pretty okay deal and I dont wanna go through the hassle of returning it so I am just gonna keep it. ... show more

  • Great value, high quality mattress!
Size: 8 Inch Style: Twin Pattern Name: Mattress
This is an excellent mattress for the price. We bought it for our 3-year-old granddaughter, and she loves it. After trying it ourselves, we think many adults would find it very comfortable as well. It offers just the right balance of support and comfort, making it a great value for the money.

  • Dollar for dollar, the best mattress I could have hoped for.
Size: 8 Inch Style: Queen Pattern Name: Mattress
Hands down one of the best purchases I've ever made. I was sleeping on an old queen-sized Serta that my daughter had pretty much beaten into submission with her bedroom acrobatics, and it was so cavitated that it was starting to give me muscle spasms. So, out with the old and in with the new! First Impressions: The mattress comes in a box approximately 3' 9" x 2' x 2'... decently heavy, but I'm 6'7" so I could more than manage it. However, if you're uncomfortable lifting over 45 lbs by yourself or you're under 5'10", it might behoove you to have some assistance moving the box into the bedroom. Upon unboxing... you can see that the mattress is tightly wrapped, but cutting the plasti-wrap keeping it tight will let it unfurl pretty easily. Make sure to do this when it's already on the bed, as moving the unfolded mattress, even with help, is not the easiest thing. So, I removed the packaging and gave it the recommended 8 hours to expand, even though it visually looked like it was good within an hour at most. So, I threw on a mattress protector as well as a fresh set of sheets and counted down the hours till I could try it out. First week: Oh. My. God. This thing is so comfortable compared to any other mattress I've ever slept on, it really is astounding, especially when the price paid is considered. I sleep deeply and nearly motionless now, as opposed to the tossing and turning I used to do every night. I don't wake up in the night nearly as much either, most likely because this mattress breathes incredibly well and I've had no issues with sweating / temperature discomfort yet. My back and hips have felt great as well, when I used to wake up with a great deal of pain (and I'm only 31). It is firm, but cradles you after you have stopped moving and gotten comfortable. It really is like nothing else I've ever slept on. I haven't had it for a long time yet, so I cannot speak to the durability of the mattress, but I am absolutely happy in every way with my purchase. In fact, I can't wait to get home and sleep on it again. ... show more

  • FIRM at first, but give it time..
UPDATE 05/13/2013: After sleeping on this mattress for a few weeks it has softened up quite a bit, but it's still so supportive and I wake up feeling excellent every morning, although I find it harder to get out of bed because I'm so comfortable. I would still highly recommend this mattress to others. This is my second memory foam mattress, my first one was bought elsewhere and it's 4 years old and still going strong. So we purchased another memory foam mattress for our travel trailer. First a little about me, I have a pinched nerve in my lower back that causes severe pain when walking, bending, sitting, standing...at times there is no relief from the pain. I am missing cartlidge in my right knee which also cause random and extreme pain and my knee will give out on me. I also have nerve and tissue damage in my right shoulder. My husband has damage in his neck as well. So I was a little hesitant to sleep on this bed with how firm it felt, and with some of the reviews stating it's a firm mattress. I will confirm....it is a FIRM mattress. However, my first memory foam mattress was also firm at first. These types of mattresses need to be 'worked in' and they will soften up quite a bit over time and the more you sleep on it and the more weight is put on it. With that being said, last night was the very first night sleeping on the new mattress and let me tell you...it is firm. While we both tossed and turned all night (we both do that in new places, or on new beds) we woke up this morning with ZERO pain anywhere. And we could feel that the bed/foam was getting softer already. So if you're concerned about how firm the mattress might be for you, PLEASE keep in mind that they do soften up quite a bit! Now on to the smell...there was a smell, but that's a given and it didn't bother my husband or me, but if you're sensitive to smells, I'd leave it to air out in a spare room for a few day. It was packaged well, and arrived in a decent sized box. CAUTION!!!! As soon as you take the plastic wrap off the mattress 'roll' it will immediately begin to expand!!! These mattresses are not heavy, but they are floppy and unwieldy to move, so make sure you unwrap it close to where you're going to put it! Overall I love this mattress, and I'm very happy with the purchase and will recommend it to friends and family in the future. ... show more

  • I am feeling so much better!
After sleeping on this mattress for a week my hip pain is gone! I was experiencing hip pain so bad that some days I could barely walk. That all ended when I bought this mattress. I tend to have trouble with heat when I sleep, so I was rather concerned about buying a memory foam mattress. They are reputed to sleep hot. I like to sleep cool. I haven't had any trouble with this one, though. It is warm after a few minutes, but not hot. I haven't had difficulty sleeping and I haven't been sweating. It is spring and we have had some warm nights. I may update this during the heat of summer if I have trouble then. In all fairness, I do have an air conditioner in my room. This is a firm mattress. I don't sink down into it when I sleep except just a bit at the hip. At first I thought it might be a little too firm, but the results don't lie. I had absolutely no trouble with odor. I unrolled the mattress on the bed and it was up to 8" (I measured) within 10 minutes. When I put my nose directly on the mattress I could smell a faint odor, but it really was faint and it was gone by the time I made the bed 2 hours later. I can understand that some people have had different experiences, but I would attribute this to the length of time the mattress has been stored. Apparently, mine was not stored for long. This is just a guess, but I think it is a good one. I cannot understand why anyone would ever buy an innerspring mattress. They are trash next to this one, and this one is very reasonably priced. My best friend is planning to buy one now. UPDATE: I am happy to report that I have had no trouble with sweating or excess heat. I do air condition my bedroom, but the horror stories I've heard about memory foam aren't as bad as I had feared. I suspect that I'll be plenty warm this winter and I've already decided that I like the mattress in summer, so I'm very happy and I'll leave my five star review. ... show more
