Scooter is just ok. I was deciding between this one and a very similar alternative for my 9 year old son. The hand brake sounds like a good idea but the wire for the brake runs right across the left handlebar, where you need to be able to grip. This ZIFFY scooter has been a huge hit with our family and a truly fun addition to our outdoor activities. It's an awesome, foldable scooter that's incredibly easy to transport and store, whether we're taking it in the car for a trip to the park or just tucking it away in the garage. Assembly out of the box was a breeze, taking only a few minutes, and the folding mechanism itself is very well-designed and heavy-duty, making it quick and easy to get it ready to ride. One of the best features is its versatility. We've had a wide range of ages riding it, from young kids to adults, and it's handled everyone with ease. The handlebar height is easily adjustable, making it a perfect size for just about any rider. The scooter feels very stable underfoot, thanks to the wide base and solid construction. The ride itself is remarkably smooth and quiet. The large wheels and front suspension do an excellent job of absorbing bumps and gaps in the sidewalk, making for a much more comfortable experience. It handles different surfaces well, rolling over imperfections on pavement and even doing okay on grass. Safety-wise, it includes both a hand brake and a foot brake. The hand brake is a great feature, especially for kids learning to control their speed, but I personally find the foot brake to be very effective as well, particularly on paved paths. Just be mindful not to use the foot brake with bare feet, as it can get quite hot! The inclusion of a kickstand is also a fantastic detail that helps keep the scooter from getting scuffed up when parked. What a fun folding scooter. This thing is prettry awesome and has been a lot of fun for our family. Perfect for throwing in the bed of your truck or under the rv. Very easy to assemble, takes maybe 5 minutes from start to finish out of the box. The scooter breaks downa nd sets up in seconds after this. The folding mechanism is heavy-duty and well laid out. Weve had people age 4-71 riding on this scooter. They love it but the kids enjoy it the most. The handle bards can be adjusted for height and I had not issues riding it while being 6'2" 190lbs. Perfect size for just about any age range. This scooter is very quiet. There is a hand brake but be aware that it does wear down the wheel significantly faster that just using the metal pressure brake. Be careful to never ride bare foot! Super easy to burn your heel if you try to brake with your foot without shoes on. Brings back memories I hope you never have to make haha. If you have shoes on though, I recommend the foot brake over the hand brake unless you are really booking it and need to stop asap. The kickstand is a nice touch. The kids were letting it drop to the ground at first which was not good for the scooter. Once they were shwon the kickstand, they stopped letting it drop to the concrete and this should help preserve the handles. Thank for the kickstand haha. there is a bit of suspension on the front wheel. it can feel odd at first but you'll come to appreciate how much it smoothes out your ride. The sidewalk gaps are barely even registered in the hand. Great scooter. Very fun and perfect for places with paved paths. ... show more
