Description

Introducing the one and only Zhdun (Awaiter) - the ultimate gift to bring a smile to your friends' faces! This little fella is no ordinary mass-produced item; oh no, he's a true labor of love, lovingly handmade with high-quality materials that'll stand the test of time.Picture this: a quirky sculpture made of hard gypsum, hand-painted with utmost care, making it a unique and beautiful design piece. Standing at a proud 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) tall and 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, this delightful chunk of joy weighs approximately 200 grams - perfect for any space, big or small! But hold on, there's more to this cute Zhdun than meets the eye. Let's delve into his history, shall we? This charming fellow was born from the creative genius of the Dutch artist Margriet van Brevort, specifically for the University of Leiden. And boy, did he make a splash! The Internet couldn't resist his charm, and he became an instant meme sensation. Now, you might wonder, "Zhdun? What kind of name is that?" Well, it's Russian for "waiter," and let's be honest, it sounds ridiculously amusing! In Dutch, he's called Homunculus loxodontus, symbolizing patience and the art of waiting (we've all been there!).Here's the best part - Zhdun is a multitasking pro! Need a gift for your colleagues? Zhdun's got your back. Place him in your department, and everyone will instantly get the message - "Do not disturb, I'm busy conquering the world!" Plus, he's the ideal companion when waiting for slow deliveries or your order in a restaurant. Patience has never been this cute! And guess what? Zhdun is an excellent listener too. Pour your heart out, and he'll listen attentively without ever interrupting. Now, that's a true friend! So, don't wait (unlike our friend Zhdun, who's a pro at waiting) - grab this little bundle of joy and spread some smiles around. Whether it's bringing laughter to your loved ones or brightening up your workplace, Zhdun is ready to be your delightful buddy!Remember, you never know when you'll need a Zhdun in your life, but when you do, you'll wonder how you ever lived without him. So, what are you waiting for? Embrace the cuteness, and let Zhdun work his magic!

  • A meditative fixture
Not quite pensive, not quite lazy - Zhdun observes the world patiently in an almost meditative posture. Zhdun expresses the age old achievement of what the learned ancients called "ataraxia" - a state of stabilization against destabilizing perturbation. Yet there is a subtle kindness in Zhdun's gaze. Not merely an inspiration, but perhaps a surrogate friend at a glance; providing a hint of strength against what the Buddhists call "clinging". However - a terrible fault emerges - I'm pretty sure if you put a coin in the slot it wouldn't fit out the plunger in the bottom. Thus, if you used Zhdun to patiently save and await good fortune; you would be forced to smash him - obliterating the soothing illusion... or perhaps learn a greater lesson yet? ... show more

It's a small little desk piece but it's absolutely hilarious and looks exactly like picture.

  • Super Cute!! Totally worth the wait
Arrived late due to customs & Covid- took a month to arrive. However I was very happy with customer service- they responded to my inquiries in a timely manner and even offered money back or discount which I declined since it was beyond their control. It was totally worth the wait. Super cute - smaller than expected but that was my fault for not reading the full description because the dimensions are clearly written in there. As other have mentioned it wont work as a functioning bank for all US currency but I knew that already so it doesn't bother me. It was wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and arrived with no damage. ... show more

  • Extremely high quality detailed small figurine
I ordered two Zhduns, one for myself and one for a relative. My relative, who is fascinated by esoteric and obscure objects, was very pleased. I am very impressed by the Zhduns high quality painted ceramic material and detail. It was crafted and shipped all the way from Belarus, but arrived well insulated and intact within ETA. Accurate to the item description, it is small, only about 4 inches tall. Its level of detail is particularly impressive given its diminutive size. The Zhdun can also function as a tiny piggybank - there is a small plastic topped aperture on the bottom accessing a hollow interior that can fit folded bills and very small coins. ... show more

  • little dude is adorable
small, made well, holds about $10 in coins depending on how many quarters, the only issue is it’s a little difficult to take the bottom out but i don’t collect many coins so that’s no issue

  • Super small, not worth $30
This product is way smaller than they make you believe. It should be $10 for the size it is. Extremely tiny and not worth the money. Couldn’t hold more than like 15 dimes. Horrible coin holder.

  • Adorable and funny, but not worth $30.
I really should've paid way more attention to the reviews and details of the product, cause this thing was way too small. It breaks my heart, cause I wanted to use it as a White Elephant gift, but the thing is entirely too small to be worth anything. You can't even use it for your coins! The most that would probably fit is probably pennies and dimes. It's so adorable though! Based on it's size and overall quality, I definitely wouldn't price it at $30, more like $5. I also understand that it's supposed to be hand made, but is that really a fair pricing for something so small and simple? I personally don't believe so. Overall, if you're cool with spending $30 for a goofy paper weight, then it's totally for you. ... show more
