Vacuum the room completely. Follow machine manufacture dilution instructions. Use on residential and commercial carpets, area rugs, vehicle seats, stain-resistant carpets, and upholstery. Perform a colorfast test before use. Carpet Cleaning: Add 1 pint of cleaner to 3 gallons (5 oz. per gallon) of hot water into the carpet machine solution tank. Follow machine directions for cleaning. • Great value carpet cleaner that doesn't leave a strong lingering scent
Style: modern
Review Image by Kat
I originally picked it up because I wanted something effective but not overwhelming in scent, and it ended up exceeding my expectations in every way. First off, performance - this stuff really delivers. I used it with my Shark CarpetXpert machine, and the combination worked incredibly well. One thing I really appreciate is how concentrated it is. You don’t need to use a ton of product to get great results, which makes it last a long time. That’s a big deal if you clean your carpets regularly or have pets like I do. It feels like you’re getting professional-level cleaning without burning through a bottle in a few uses. Now let’s talk about the scent, because this is where it really stands out for me. It has a fresh citrus smell that’s clean and light. It does tend to have a bit of a chemical smell on top of the citrus at first but that doesn't last. A lot of carpet shampoos I’ve tried either smell too strong during use or leave behind this heavy, perfumey scent that lingers for days. This one is different. It smells great while you’re cleaning, but once the carpet dries, the scent fades nicely and doesn’t hang around in an overwhelming way. Your space just smells fresh and clean, not like you dumped a bottle of fragrance everywhere. Another thing I noticed is how clean the carpets feel after drying. There’s no sticky or crunchy residue and the fibers feel soft and refreshed, they don’t seem to attract dirt again right away—which tells me it’s not leaving behind anything that would cause re-soiling. Overall, I’m genuinely impressed. Between the strong cleaning performance, the compatibility with my Shark CarpetXpert, the long-lasting concentrate, and that perfectly balanced citrus scent, this has become my go-to carpet cleaner. If you want something effective, easy to use, and not overpowering, this is absolutely worth it. Five stars without hesitation. ... show more

    • Excellent Cleaner

This stuff works so well in my carpet cleaner and is inexpensive for how much you get. It smells good, dries pretty quickly, and cleans even the toughest stains! I’ll be ordering more!

    • Great carpet cleaner
Style: modern
If you’re looking for a deep cleaning carpet shampoo that tackles dirt and stains without costing a fortune, Zep’s lineup of carpet shampoo products is worth considering. These concentrated solutions are designed to work in carpet cleaning machines whether at home or in rental extractors and they deliver a noticeable improvement in carpet appearance with relatively little effort. Cleaning Power: This shampoo penetrates deep into carpet fibers and lifts embedded dirt, food stains, and pet messes effectively. Many users report that their carpets look fresh and revitalized after a single machine pass, with a fresher smell and minimal residue left behind when properly rinsed. Value & Coverage: One of the biggest perks is the concentrated formula a small amount goes a long way, and a gallon can make up to about 25 gallons of cleaning solution. That makes it economical for large areas or multiple rooms, especially compared to pricier brands. Ease of Use: When used in carpet cleaning machines (steam extractors, home extractors, etc.), Zep shampoo lathers just enough without excessive foam, helping the machine perform smoothly. Follow the dilution instructions and machine guidelines for best results. Appearance & Scent: After cleaning, carpets usually look brighter, and many users appreciate the generally pleasant, clean scent. It’s not overpowering, though some people are sensitive to stronger chemical odors during application. ... show more

    • Cleans well, good value but smell not so good
Style: modern
It cleans well, and very cost effective for daily cleaning if the lowest price is your primary criteria. It took care of some minor spots without any issue. However, it has a very dry cleaner like chemical smell and not to my liking (as others have felt the same too). While the smell is not overwhelming and will go away after drying, it is not something that can be described pleasant in anyway for the next few hours. For this reason - i am taking one star off. This is not for me as I would stick with Bissel and Hoover solutions in future as they have very good fragrance, and only a few dollars more. ... show more

    • Definitely Buy This!
Style: modern
This is, hands down, the best affordable way to shampoo your carpets. For years, I bought the expensive carpet shampoo from the store and always dreaded having to replace it because of the cost. This product lasted much longer than I expected and cleaned even better than the name-brand options I’ve used in the past. My carpets came out looking and smelling fresh, and I saved a significant amount of money in the process. I’ll definitely be buying this again. ... show more

    • My favorite carpet shampoo!
Style: modern
Love this carpet cleaner. Not only is ecomical, but it does a great job cleaning up the dirt out of carpets whether it's a small area or in a carpet cleaner, cleaning a whole room. A little bit goes a long way, and it doesn't leave a sticky residue, like some others I've tried, and rinses well. After having seven dogs some time ago, I've gone through some products (and carpet cleaners!), and ZEP is my favorite, and my go-to. It's a great product, especially for the price. ... show more

    • Works well, but do not like the smell
Style: modern
I ordered this, and a bottle of the high traffic area cleaner; which you shouldn't use in a carpet cleaner, cause it foams a lot, but I wasn't sure how the all purpose would work, so didn't want to take any chances..The carpet cleaner I normally use, must be out of stock or something, because when I got on my account to see what time it was going to be delivered, saw the delivery date was changed to another few weeks away, when I needed it that day.. So I needed to order something else too.. It cleans ok as far as carpet cleaners go, I'm not sure if it's suppose to be cloudy or not, because it seemed to have been opened already when recieved..But I really doubt I will ever buy this brand again for regular use.. The Smell is over powering with a Soapy, Commercial Smell to it..Hopefully will fade when it dries, but because of that, chances are I won't use it in the house again; so stuck with 2 gallons of Carpet Cleaners I likely won't use again; unless in another emergency like I bought it for in the first place..The price was right for having to order another product when I only bought it because Amazon decided to change my delivery dates last minute.. ... show more
