Inexpensive and useful tool for many purposes. Diagnosing electrical circuits, finding heat escaping from your house, automotive stuff, etc. One reviewer mentions that the lens cover doesn't stay put but you just have to push back all the way and it locks into place. I can see using this tool for many, many things. One of the reasons I wanted this was to check my brakes on my work rig. I drive a CDL truck and this would be handy to scan the wheels after stopping to make sure all the brakes are working before crossing the scales since they also use IR tech to check brakes as you roll thru. If one is cold, that wheel doesn't have brakes. The tool is bigger than I imagined and screen is an acceptable size for me. I'm not sure I'm going to keep it only because I have one one the way that plugs into my phone, so I'm going to see which one I like better.

This thermometer is easy to use. It helps me check the air conditioning temperature more quickly and find leaks in the attic air conditioning ducts. Its thermal image also makes it easier to find water leaks under concrete floors. For this price it is good deal.

Just received today (11/07) powered on and used for about 5 minutes. Set down long enough to look at some other button functions in the manual and now is - Locked up (No image updates or button control - Will NOT POWER OFF!! no matter how long (or short) the power button is pressed and no other buttons work has remained in the same "ON" state now for over 2 hours

Good for basic stuff around the house, checking for leaks, hot and cold spots in walls.. it even picks up my dog's foot prints walking across the wood flooring.

Got this for doing installation updates, this helps me see which areas in the attic need more and also shows where there might be a draft, helpful and it'll save you energy/money in the long run. Simple and easy to use, good battery life (I like that it’s usb C charging), and pretty compact.
