This is very affordable and easy to use. I find the quality is good and the usefulness well it all depends on what you want to use it for. The accuracy it good it shows what you need to know or want to know. This product is light in weight you will not get fatigued holding it for periods at a time. The size is comparable to others I have seen on line. This product has an auto off which you can set up by pushing the ok button on the back left side of the head. When you push the ok button it will bring up a menu to choose other settings as well. This product will be a great tool to add to home buying and vehicle maintenance. The price was way cheaper than the others which I figured for 98 bucks before taxes 110 after taxes was not a bad deal and I wasn’t wrong. Good readings and pretty solid, I’ve dropped it twice and it still works fine, battery lasts very long given you don’t use it for hours at a time, very easy controls although sometimes can be difficult to read and the flap cover on the front tends to fall down. Works well for indoor and outdoor imaging, even at a distance. Don't know how accurate the temperature measurements are, but for seeing temperature differences, seeing the studs and hotspots in walls and ceilings, seeing animals in the dark and detecting recently running cars, and even recent footsteps, it works. ... show more

I use this to track where my dog pees on my carpet. It works wonders. Fresh pee, glowing yellow. If it has been a few hours, it's blue (cold). I can clean the exact spot where it happened. the -1 star is because the flap always falls down blocking half the view so I constantly have to hold it with the other hand which is very inconvenient. And also if you move too fast the camera freezes for a moment.. one time it froze completely and I have to restart it.. ... show more

I bought this model because it was cheap with a high positive review count. It powered on out of the box and I was able to use it after about 5-10 minutes of reviewing the settings. I had no problem with the lens cap, which flips up and locks into the top of the camera. I could also power the unit off and on without any problems. My only use was for a DIY project to look for warm spots in my walls. I cannot attest to the temperature accuracy, other than to say it could see pipes in the wall, especially when water was flowing.
