I’m extremely happy with the Flagfront YXI96 thermal camera and would absolutely give it a well-earned 5 stars. The 240×240 super-resolution enhancement makes a real difference—images look noticeably clearer than I expected at this price point, and fine details are much easier to pick out when scanning walls, pipes, or electrical panels. The 25Hz refresh rate also keeps everything smooth while you move, so you’re not fighting lag or choppy motion during an inspection. One of my favorite features is the built-in temperature alarm, which quickly flags unusual hot or cold spots and helps you focus on what matters. I also appreciate that it shows highest/lowest/center temperatures right on the screen, making it easy to track a heat source in real time. The measurement range (-4°F to 1022°F) is very versatile, and being able to adjust distance and emissivity helps improve accuracy for different surfaces. This thermal camera is absolutely worth the money. The image quality is clear, the temperature readings are accurate, and the device responds quickly with no lag. I’ve used it for home inspections, checking insulation, diagnosing heating issues, and even locating air leaks — it makes these jobs so much easier and more precise. The menu and buttons are straightforward, and the screen is bright enough to use indoors or outdoors. The build quality feels solid and comfortable to hold, and the battery life is better than I expected. For this price point, it performs just as well as some much more expensive models I’ve tried before. Overall, a great tool with excellent value. I bought this model because it was cheap with a high positive review count. It powered on out of the box and I was able to use it after about 5-10 minutes of reviewing the settings. I had no problem with the lens cap, which flips up and locks into the top of the camera. I could also power the unit off and on without any problems. My only use was for a DIY project to look for warm spots in my walls. I cannot attest to the temperature accuracy, other than to say it could see pipes in the wall, especially when water was flowing. For non-professional use, it suited my needs.

I use this to track where my dog pees on my carpet. It works wonders. Fresh pee, glowing yellow. If it has been a few hours, it's blue (cold). I can clean the exact spot where it happened. the -1 star is because the flap always falls down blocking half the view so I constantly have to hold it with the other hand which is very inconvenient. And also if you move too fast the camera freezes for a moment.. one time it froze completely and I have to restart it..

Inexpensive and useful tool for many purposes. Diagnosing electrical circuits, finding heat escaping from your house, automotive stuff, etc. One reviewer mentions that the lens cover doesn't stay put but you just have to push back all the way and it locks into place. I can see using this tool for many, many things. One of the reasons I wanted this was to check my brakes on my work rig. I drive a CDL truck and this would be handy to scan the wheels after stopping to make sure all the brakes are working before crossing the scales since they also use IR tech to check brakes as you roll thru. If one is cold, that wheel doesn't have brakes. The tool is bigger than I imagined and screen is an acceptable size for me. I'm not sure I'm going to keep it only because I have one one the way that plugs into my phone, so I'm going to see which one I like better.

Couldn't find very good demos online either. Great concept, but I am going to have to spend hours trying to figure it out. Pretty colors and when I learn HOW to use it, I am sure it will be great, but right now, it is just pure frustration!!!!!

I bought the Flagfront thermal camera with 240x240 resolution and it honestly exceeded my expectations.
