Ok. so I have a big dog and a little dog. I love open doors and the air and light etc. a double patio door that can open both doors. I bought this white one first because I wanted it to match the white trim, and the triple panel so that the split would be above one of the doors and not hit my head with just a one split design. PROS: love the light color. ease of putting it on. tacks were helpful to keep on frame. you can see out of it clearly enough. lasted all years long ACCEPT> when big dog scratched on the door, it didn't tear the screen because the screen is tough PVC not basic metal screetn, but the edge where the magnets are, her paw eventually started to tear the plastic that the edge is made of. Like, parachute material which it not good with claws. it took a while to notice it but when the edges didn't 'magnetize' anymore, I notices the paw tear, also let the skinny long magnet out. thank goodness the metal door caught them and I put them back in and put white duck tape to hold it. It lasted till the end of season. then we bought another one. a two sided one split. Pros: I like the design of the long striped look. you can actually see BETTER out of it than the 'screen' type plain'. CONS: I hate the split that is NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DOOR . MY husband thought he would like this one better than the three panel but he's 6'2" and his head catches and stops us when we go out because the tacks that hold the top edge in also keep the screen tight * a good thing* but now we have to 'duck' to go in and out . and the screen always catches on the other steel door and we are constantly fixing , closing, pushing it out so it seals. its a great product but DO NOT BUY THE TWO panel for a two door. YOU WILL HAte it~

I bought three of these. For my horses, not my cars. ;) And it has proven to be a great investment! I have been researching magnetic screens for my horses' run-in shelter. The ones marketed for horse shelters like mine are VERY expensive, in the neighborhood of $400 for enough to cover the 4' openings here. My son had purchased one of these magnetic jobbies for his bedroom to keep the cats out (a different brand but the same thing) and it worked pretty well so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I bought the larger ones big enough for french doors so there would be two places where the magnetic seams would open so it would be easier for the horses to get in. Since there are two seams, they just push one side or the other and both sets of magnets let go, allowing the horse to push his way in, then the screen settles back into place and the magnets reconnect. Easy in-easy out! The installation went pretty easily, though the sticky backing on the velcro was not strong enough to adhere to the textured painted wood (I doubted it would but we tried it anyway). We ended up stapling them up. Now, for context, one of my horses is very mouthy and loves to yank on anything that makes the velcro ripping sound, so I suspected he would have these ripped down in less than 24 hours. They have been up for more than a week now! No ripping, no tears in the mesh, and no reluctance to come and go. I'm happy! Why did I put these up, you may ask? Horses are bothered by insects and have no way to get away from them unless we give them a place to go. I don't like confining my horses, in fact have a horse (an 1800lb draft horse at that) that is particularly claustrophobic so confining him can be dangerous. With the magnetic mesh, they can come and go as they please without much trouble. A true bug free, summer haven... Inside this shelter, I have an automatic sprayer that delivers a blast of fly spray every 45 minutes so any bugs that do happen to come in when the horses come and go will die quickly. This mesh also helps tremendously with the heat. The dark mesh reduces the amount of sunlight that comes into the building while still allowing for airflow so it stays far cooler than it would be for them out in the sun! The horses stay in the run-in for the hottest and buggiest parts of the day but can still come and go if they want to much some grass or get a drink (they have a water-on-demand drinker outside the run-in). If you have been thinking about doing something like this, I can say it worked out great for me, and my horses are super happy to have a refuge from the bugs and heat. And it was cheaper than bottle-after-bottle of fly sprays and fly masks and sheets that they won't keep on anyway! Update 7/8/2022: Even more impressed! Even after several weeks, these are still up and in great condition! The horses LOVE them and spend more time in the run-in during hot, buggy days so I know they are doing the job. I have added a picture of one of my horses literally standing in the doorway with the mesh over his head, sort of a do-it-yourself fly mask, which is ironic because he HATES his fly mask! SOOO happy I bought these! And happy that I dont have to drench them with expensive pesticides to help keep them protected from blood-feasting insects! They are much calmer, which tells me they are happier, too!

Very easy to install, took me maybe 10-15 minutes. One key for the installation is to make sure the center of the top Velcro strip is a little higher than the outside corners. This ensures that the magnets will close automatically when you pass through. I actually cut the top strip in half so I could angle it up subtly. The way I hung it, there’s maybe a quarter to a third inch rise from the edge of the door to the center. So 1/4-1/3 inch rise over about 18-24 inches. The glue is strong and has held up through heat and rain so far. The magnetic sealing works great and always shuts by itself. It’s really cut down the bugs that get in the house, especially with the dogs going in and out. If you do have dogs, they have no problem getting through the screen and it closes nicely around them. Our smaller dogs just go under the screen. I should mention that I didn’t extend the Velcro tape all the way down on the sides and chose to stop it about 2 feet above the threshold. This leaves room for the dogs to exit or enter at the sides. I wasn’t sure the dogs would figure out how to get in and out but now they’re fine with it and I probably could have taken it all the way down the sides. I bought 2 of these and so far I’m very happy with them. Just be aware that when you eventually decide to pull the Velcro tape off your door frame, you will most likely have to repaint the door frame as the paint will probably come off. But that’s the trade off for having a strong glue holding it up.

I did a lot of research prior to buying a magnetic-style screen door. If you've purchased other types of traditional screen doors in the past - these new-style products almost seem to good to be true for the price. I paid nearly $800 last time to have professionals come out and install double retractable screen doors for a set of French doors in my previous property. Now for the same type of French doors, I could pay $30-$50 for something I could install myself and that do the same thing while being hands-free. I did copious amounts of review research before deciding to get this product. One limiting issue is that I was seeking a particular style, with three sections, versus two sections. This makes it possible to use such a screen door system for instances when you only regularly open up either the left or right side of a two-door system. As opposed to walking in the middle between two double doors. I have a feeling that more people than with French doors have the same needs as me. In a product I was looking for a durable, fine mesh material that would offer a good view of the outside, while keeps bugs out. I actually found (to my surprise, that cats quickly found it understandable how go inside and outside by simply pressing their heads through the magnetically sealing-strips. I really didn't want to get this in a black color, but that is all that was available. White would get dirty really quickly, and relying on black is probably wise because it will look the same color no matter how dirty it is. With that said, as people usually decorate with light colors and light paints, I really don't know too many people who visually want to put a black screen in their home. So style-wise I think the black color doesn't work, even if the otherwise neat and compact construction of the item is elegant enough. Measuring your door and the magnetic screen size is crucial. Between this company and the others (I have no idea how many companies actually make these screens versus just rebrand ones that come from the same factory) that offer similar products, there are a few slightly different sizes available. I was lucky the first time (even though a couple inches larger would have also worked), even though I totally anticipated having to return it and get a different size. Installing it is easy enough if you give it patience. The screen comes with a relatively durable adhesive. It has lasted longer than I anticipated, but I am guessing that customers will want to replace these screens each 3-5 years. At these prices I'd just assume pull off the old ones when the adhesive starts to go bad and start from scratch. With that said, the packaging includes a series of tacks which you can pretty into wood. These ought to give the screen assembly a lot more hold, but you do have to put holes in your property or rental. I decided to avoid the tacks because of how damaging they are, and if I eventually need more adhesion I might try a glue gun actually. The concept of a consumer-installed screen for doors and windows is really excellent. You do need to watch the bottom of the screen sometimes and it can get snagged on things like door mats, but overall I am pretty happy with the screen door functionality of this product. I do wish that it came in a lighter color selection so that people could match them to their homes better. I think the market is really open for a slightly more expensive product that could put more premium materials and extra thought into these magnetic screens - which would open up their appeal to higher-end households.

This is a high quality product. We loved the concept and bought a cheaper one and threw it away. This has extreme sticky velcro to put on the trim and the screen is very durable. Most importantly the magnets on the screen closes well and won't open unless you push on them.

I am so happy with my screen! It fits just as i expected and was so easy to install! I dont intend to use it much to go through it, but it will happen. We will see how it hold up. I have no reason to think it won't. It stays closed and I am not worried about bugs coming in. I think it is a great value for the cost, it looks amazing and great quality. There is a tiny gap in the screen where it is magnetized. I smack it and it grabs together smoothly eliminating that bitty gap. Easy! The pic only shows half of it, I have too much stuff in this room.

I love these things. What a difference they’ve made on the fly population in my barn. We already have a pretty aggressive fly mitigation program and these are just an added bonus. I also appreciate that they shade the barn entries, keeping it a little cooler and also deter bats and birds from entering the barn and getting stuck on fly traps. The latter two incidents were the primary reason we purchased these with the added bonus of cutting fly population down. I will say our barn cats do enjoy climbing up them for unknown reasons, but the screens have not ripped under this daily abuse. Also, often times the magnets don’t open and the whole screen flips up as the horse walks through, but that wouldn’t stop me from purchasing again- we could always attach the sides to the doorway. Note: we did add grommets to the top and clip to eyelet hooks above the doors, so I can’t speak to adhesive strength, but would recommend this method over adhesive in something like a barn. Overall, will be adding these to the remaining stall doors to cut down on flies next summer.

This product fits exactly where it should, prevents flies from coming in our house while we get to enjoy the fresh air of the outdoors. I have purchased this several times because, the functionality for what we need is there. Here is what happened each time I purchased it: 1) Installed it as is, with supplies that come with the screen. The sticky velcro left goop everywhere, and is just unsightly if you remove the screen temporarily. Eventually the part that holds the magnets came apart through use and the velcro began to fall off where it was applied to. (maybe user error?) 2) I installed it with the 'pins' these are weak and broke during installation, ones that survived ended up tearing the material, falling out of where they were installed. the part that holds the magnets fell apart again. 3) Purchased a grommet hole maker, installed grommets on the edges of the screen, installed with screws. Much more stable. a dog decided to chew it though.... 4) Same as 3, but no dog chewing it! Yay! it has lasted quite a bit longer with this setup, but the magnet area wears out and the magnets will fall out eventually. We have kids going in and out frequently, as well as dogs running through it. it's not easy to stick duct tape to the magnet areas, and that would make it hideous. I may try 'screen patch' to hold the magnets in place longer. That's my only qualm with this product is that the magnet area is not made of better material and wears out. If a better product comes around with grommet holes already i'd give it a run over this.
