Keep in mind that there isn’t a way to completely block the sound and you’ll be alright. My door is hollow and my neighbors are nosey. With a combination of the weighted door blanket and the bathroom fan, I have successfully blocked them out. There is a Velcro strip on the back. If you’re using the Velcro you won’t be able to hang it from the hooks they provide. The Velcro has some intense adhesive, so that is a bonus. The hooks are great quality! Which was a surprise. The smell from the product is very mild and should air out in a few days. Shipping is a patience tester. Mine appeared 3 weeks before it was supposed to, so that was another bonus. should have sent it back when it arrived, the stitching at the bottom was loose and almost pulling out. now with less than 90 days of usage, it has been used in a low traffic area with no kids running around and nobody stepping on it, all the threads at the bottom are coming out.

after a long wait for the arrival of this product, during a colder than usual winter in SC, this insulating "door" solved my doorless problem that had existed for many years. The dimensions were perfect and the heavy duty insulating "material" (like plastic but is not) blocked the 44 degrees temps on the second floor from swooping down the open stair way "freezing" a massive area of the first floor. Code did not allow a door to be installed to solve this issue but this insulation "device" was the perfect solution that I found on the net. Kudos to the designer of this product. Works quite well. I’m using it to insulate a door that lets in a lot of cold in the winter. I added masking tape to the sides as air was still leaking in. This worked like a charm! You can see from picture #3 that the curtain is bulging from the breeze, but it’s not getting inside 😀
