Took my first trip with this carrier, carrying two recreational kayaks about 10 feet long each. These were reasonably easy to attach and I took some kayak tie-down tips from a few youtube videos. Drove 5 hours each way in a mix of highway and country roads. I only used the included tie-downs. I quickly realized I didn't need to tie them down nearly as tightly as I was inclined to. They were quite sturdy, no apparent swing. On the way back home I completely forgot they were even attached. On the way to my destination, one tie-down kept catching the breeze and vibrating. The sound of Tibetan throat singing was unpleasant after about an hour, but it was absent on my drive back. I really wish I knew what I did right on the way back! I can't speak to the longevity of these racks, but I only plan to use them a few times per year, so I take them off of my car (2016 Subaru Outback with stock roof rack) when I'm not using them. I anticipate they will last quite a long time and are well worth the bargain price for my use case. ... show more

I got 1 for me and 1 for my girl i love them super easy to use and nice for 2 kayaks and if you don't got anything up there you can put it down and still put 1 on it when it lays flat i love this rack i have recommended it to people only problem i have had is the black rubber peaces have already started to brake bc the kayaks are heavy ... show more

It looks very sturdy, however the bolts to hold it to my SUV’s crossbars are too short. Because these are metric bolts, it is very difficult to find replacements which will also fit the tightening knobs. I may have to find different knobs to go with the different bolts I’m also going to have to find. Once I can get it secured to my truck I think it’s going to work. I think. ... show more

Great product. I transported a kayak on a three hour trip with no issues. I prefer to transport with the kayak laying flat vs at an angle. Easy to install and elegant.
