I was a bit skeptical on these little "smokeless" firepits. However I took a camping trip early in the spring this year and it was one of those trips where night-time temps were cool to cold and there was a near constant variable rain from sprinkle to downpour for the whole extended weekend. I had a lot of trouble keeping a traditional campfire going and even if I could I'd have been setting next to it in some level of rain, ugh. At that point I started to consider the appeal of a small campfire like solution like this! So last week my daughter and I were going on another trip and rain was called for, so I sprung for this little fire pit to try it out. I'm really glad I did and I like it a lot! I burned hardwood pellets in it which I found inexpensively at my local tractor supply store. They were a bit hard to get going but once I used a small bit of lighting fluid it was all pretty easy. It burned extremely well and put out a good amount of heat, though I'll likely get one of the "heat deflectors" for it to help spread the heat out laterally more. It burned for a good while on one load of pellets and stayed hot from coals or just thermal mass for a good while after that. It would have been perfect on that spring trip as I could have set it at least on the ground under the corner of my EZ up an had the campfire heat and ambiance plus a little fire to toast a marshmallow or two. I really liked this on chilly mornings during the recent trip as well. The construction seems really solid and durable, and the included carry bag is handy and keeps things neat and tidy. The included little extendable forks are super cute, and functional too for marshmallows at least. The included heat protector trivet thing seems thin, I'm skeptical that it would really protect a plastic table when the fire really gets going BUT I haven't tried it, and probably won't. The flames go high enough that I'd be concerned running this on top of a table under an EZ-UP and would likely leave it on the ground near the table under the corner of the EZ-UP to protect it from rain instead of ON the tabletop. Perhaps that will change if I get the heat deflector. The removeable ash-pan arrangement with the center vent works really well and makes clean up a breeze. I just waited for it to be completely cold out, and lifted the ash-pan using the center column to remove the spent pellets and ash. Overall I'm really impressed with this thing. I was fairly sure I'd end up returning it after being underwhelmed but now I'm pretty sure it's going on every camping trip with me and it will be a valuable back-up for the "real" campfire when conditions for that aren't ideal. It's also great for a fire when there's less time and I don't want to smell of campfire smoke, like in the mornings before the world warms up. I'm giving 5 stars because I literally can't find anything to complain about, it's great.

First off, the insert that has the "chimney " column up the middle is great, it really helps burn off everything. I have been having fires in my cold garage, I start the fire outside and once going bring it in and there is little to no smoke. I have tried wood pellets, small stick and some pretty big stick. I have been having fun cutting my usual large fire pit logs down to about 5" and then splitting those down with an ax to make little logs for this thing and it works great. I even have some old recycled newspaper pellet kitty litter that my cats hated but burn great in this thing (unlike my 5" solo) Point is, this thing burns HOT and has extra airflow in the center thanks to the center column so everything seems to burn completely and radiates the heat off the sides pretty well as long as there isn't a breeze. Like I said, I have been using this in my garage with the big door shut, and while it is not 100% smokeless, anyone who thinks these things are is just fooling themselves, it is, if kept adequately feed so that it doesn't burn down too far, probably 95% smokeless. I say this after having it in a confined space with little to no air flow, just the side door partially opened to make sure I don't suffocate myself. I'm very happy with it.

I used this the same day it showed up and wow it def blows off some heat. I used pellets and I didn’t like that they don’t lasted long enough so next time I will be using wood in it. The forks were perfect for roosting some marshmallows. Perfect size for easy storage and transport. I will be buying a diffuser for it to push that heat out towards us so we don’t have to sit so close. I would suggest this product to others. Very durable and great construction. Flames were so high and it handled the heat well.

Fun little fire pit

Nice little fire pit. I wish it was a little larger inside to accommodate pieces of wood that I put inside but it burns bright and I have had no issues so far. No issues with assembly and if you know what you are doing you can get a fire going in just about a few minutes. Easy to pack up and bring camping. Had a great time making smores over it and the metal is thick enough to last. The center tube was nice to get extra airflow and really get the secondary burn going but makes it a little hard to fit bigger pieces of wood inside.

This fit pit was the perfect addition to our camping set up. It was small and compact to pack yet provided a nice flame and was actually warm if you sat up next to it. It burned hot and I used more wood and pellets (tried both on the first outing - neither was better than the other) than I thought but still less wood than I wood in a traditional fire ring. Living in an area with constant fire danger, I am hesitant to start a fire, but when camping, it is so nice to just have the ambiance of a fire. This is a much safer way to enjoy a fire and roast a marshmallow or two! No regrets with this purchase. I cannot see how the name brand version is any better.
