1. Very sturdy 2. Cordless drill will be super helpful to assemble....It's frustrating to do by hand, and the pics weren't great. It's doable, but took a long time, and with 2 of us. 3. As you can see in the video, flames will shoot out through the side and top, at first; however, it will calm down, then. We purchased a round heat resistant mat ($15) for underneath it, and placed it away from the side and slightly toward the center. Also, we used a stove board against the wooden rails and have a bucket of water nearby. There is a sliding door on the front of the chimnea. There's a metal poker it comes with to move wood and the door (remember to use it and not your hand)... It looks nice and gives warmth. Overall, we enjoy it!

This fire pit is really easy to put together. The top portion is made is cast iron and should last a long time. The lower bowl looks like sturdy metal, hop in it will withstand the heat over time. The fire pit provides sufficient heat for a cool night sitting around it and enjoying conversation.

It is substantial and works really well (90% of smoke goes out the chimney). I took others' advice and painted it with High Heat Rustolium black paint and also bought a cover to hopefully avoid rust and make it last longer. We've only used it twice so far and love it. I'll add an edit after we've had it a while and let you know if we've avoided rust! We put it in our existing fire pit and raised it up a bit on bricks since our fire pit is a bit deep.

Purchased to replace a clay chiminea i had for years. searched multiple products and finally decided on this one. Hight was just about right, almost 4 feet tall. Top part is cast metal and sturdy, but the bottom is only stamped metal. not sure how long that will last out in the weather. Was pretty easy to assemble by myself. 10MM wrench and screwdriver. Color is more brownish than black but looks nice. Good size inside for wood. Door slides open or can be removed. All in all i really like this. Burnt a fake log and it was beautiful. ? how long will it last outside in New England winters ? I don't see anything out there around this price that i think would do any better. Only had it for a month but if it lasts more than two years would definitely buy again.

This is my second purchase of this very functional and attractive outdoor fireplace.It has served me well to use for quick and easy gatherings with friends and family.One of the reasons it is enjoyable is the all around view of the fire and easy access to adding firewood as needed. Best suited to smaller logs and yard sticks, pinecones etc so the fire stays pleasant and easy to control. I have it situated within a gravel 13 foot circle so no worries on burning sparks or the occasional embers that might roll out.I touch it up each season with high temp spray paint for stoves and keep it covered with the available fitted cover when not in use. Also use in the summer with large citronella candles just for the effect. Highly recommend !

After assembling I discovered that there was a bump on the edge where the door is supposed to slide open and shut. Because of the bump, the door would not open without falling off. Had to either shave down the bump or reassemble with the bump away from the door. I chose to reassemble, so now the door opens. The lid on top cracked when I dropped it on the patio. The use of the chimenea is very easy and it's easy to start a fire in it. It looks beautiful and helps keep the mosquitoes somewhat at bay. I like that it can be moved easily, unlike a brick firepit. If you buy this, make sure you get the cover for it. The chimenea will rust if not protected from rain. The cover is really heavy duty and easy to put on and will not fly off. Not sure how this will hold up because I've only had it for a short while.
