  • NOT WORTH THE MONEY $
This plane was expensive considering the materials it was constructed with. It's made of foam and has tiny wires that can easily break as you take the batteries out to be charged. Surprisingly the plane flew great for about 4 hours. ( battery had to be charged multiple times within this period of time). The remote is something to get use to, but for the most part my son got the hang up it. Unfortunately, the next day my son went to fly his plane and it just did not work! The remote turned on, but the plane light never came on again. My sun was very bummed about the plane not working again. With how expensive this plane is at ($41) you would expect it to last more than a day. ... show more

  • Great Beginner Plane
Great little plane for my 8 year old. Easy to control and doesn’t break when you crash it.

  • Hours of time on this plane and it's still in great shape.
I got this plane in hopes that my granddaughter and I would be able fly it together. That did happen, eventually, but it did take a bit of a learning curve, and you can just about forget landing it smoothly on the wheels. First, the wheels are too small for taking off and landing on most common surfaces. You will have to launch it by hand and try to do as controlled a landing as possible...which is tough. This plane is very lightweight, so the lightest breeze tends to send it off course. Landing in a breeze is a controlled crash, most often. The good thing is that the propellers are in the rear of the wings, so you don't really do any damage when it does crash. The landing gear is just a bent wire with small wheels that will definitely come off if you don't cement them in place. Second...you have to dial in the trim while this thing is flying. Sometimes it's hard to determine if the wind is taking it or if the trim is out of balance. It does have 2 flight speeds, so that helps, but you need a really still day to dial this thing in. Once you do, it flies pretty nice for a basic plane. It's steered by the differential between the engine speeds, and you can add some banking by slowing and revving the engines mid-maneuver. It's a pretty decent set up for a beginner, but at the same time, a real beginner is going to crash this thing a bunch. The price makes that at least tolerable, but some sort of electronic trim balance would make this a little easier to control instead of trying to figure this out in flight as a beginner. So, we crashed this a lot. It's still in great shape and flies like it did the first day. After I got the trim dialed in, my granddaughter, who is 6, was actually able to fly it for short flights, which usually ended up in crashes and encounters with trees, but we recovered it every time and it had no damage that would keep it from flying again. Overall, this is a fun little plane. It's not super easy to fly immediately, and some coaching is helpful if you have some RC guys in your vicinity. I think it's worth it as an intro into RC flying, and with practice, you will be upgrading into fancier planes. ... show more

  • Cheaply made
No, sir, this is NOT worth that price. Coming back to it, I was surprised to find it more than half the cost it is at the writing of this review. Of course it's a toy airplane and so it has to be lightweight, but this is literally made of foam with plastic propellers and plastic wheels that don't even snap in but fall out insanely easily. I feel like I can barely touch this because I'm scared I'll break off a wing if I pick it up the wrong way. I don't expect it to last more than a couple of times taking it out. So far I've only been able to fly it once because when I did fly it I did it in my neighborhood where I barely got it up in the air before fell onto a neighbor's roof. It was more of an adventure collecting it than it was flying it in the first place. Next time I'll be taking it to a park, but I don't have high hopes that we'll be able to get it to stay in the sky for very long, and even then, I don't have high hopes it will survive its landing more than a couple of times. Beyond that, the instructions are lousy. They seem to be written by someone who doesn't speak english as a first language, so they're not very clear. They're also imprecise and include one or two instances of technical jargon. The few pictures provided were easier to follow than the written language. The controller takes 3 double A batteries, while the airplane has a tiny rechargeable battery that you have to take out to charge, though the package DOES include two rechargeable batteries for the plane, which is nice. Overall, it's just a very cheap toy plane that will not last long. I can't say it's worth the money. ... show more

  • I liked it more than I thought I would!
I got a little buyers remorse when I got this because I realized that this really wasn't a "drone". It didn't go up and down, and it needed a lot of space to do its thing. But, when compared to the gasoline powered RC planes of my childhood, this was amazing. Now don't get me wrong, it isn't nearly as nice as those, but for a working plane that can turn left and right, dive up and down, and land --if you have enough space- it is pretty great. Additionally, since it basically is just a styrofoam glider with a lithium battery and two propellors it is not going to cause much damage (or pain) when colliding with persons or property. (In fact, the propeller on the front is just for show -or balance- and the only spinning plastic blades are behind the wings.) I also love how the kit gave me a lot of spares. Though it didn't come with the three required AAA batteries, it did have a small USB cord to charge the battery, FOUR spare propellers (and you need two to fly) and a spare battery. Look, this thing isn't complicated -it doesn't have flaps or controls. It really just turns by applying more power to one propeller than the other one, and it goes up when you apply more power, and down when you apply less, but for the cost, and the safety, it is a really neat kit if you don't want to invest in the typical space alien drone vehicle, and if you have the space to play with it. ... show more
