    • Great Pavilion - Took some work, but worth it.
We built this over a couple of weekends and it really came out nice. The instructions were almost perfect, the materials were complete and without defect. 2 of us were able to complete the build (though the instructions state 3-4 on a few steps) with some careful planning and 2 good ladders. We sealed (with a clear cedar deck product) all of the pieces before assembly - which took a day, and the rest went together over about 10 hours, plus some time working on a couple of concrete footers. I can’t say enough about the quality of this gazebo. The design and manufacturing is excellent. Every bolt hole lined up and had enough play to allow for squaring up the assembly and to eliminate wrestling to get parts to fit. The cedar is beautiful, high quality and consistent from piece to piece. This is a bit of a bear to assemble, and requires close attention to the directions. It took me a full weekend (~20 hours) to assemble, mostly (90%) by myself. You will need an extra set of hands at times (raising the posts) and at least 3 workers when attaching the roof. I’d say it’s for high intermediate and advanced assemblers only. A hint- take an hour or so to unpack the materials and label the parts. It saved hours of time in the long run and helped avoid mistakes. As a woodworker, this is something I’d normally want to design and build from scratch, but the cost of the wood and hardware would exceed the price of this kit. It took about 1 week to complete the pavilion, My wife and i assembled the pavilion with no problems. It does require some knowledge of framing but nothing that the directions don't call attention to. It is a great addition to our home and creates a comfortable space for us to lounge and enjoy our surroundings. We are looking forward to some modifications that we have in mind to make it a more inviting place. The neighbors have commented as to how well built and how nicely it fits into the yard. After reading terrible reviews from pavilions bought at home improvement stores I did more research and bought from Yardistry. The packages came a bit banged up but it came a really long distance and all the wooden pieces and hardware came intact. It's taken several days for my husband to put together after work and weekend (with help from our two adult sons) but I'm really glad I bought from this company. Yes, it's more expensive than the other store bought pavilions more much better quality. The directions were clear to follow and no pieces missing. ... show more

I shopped for this for a long time. Amazon had by far the best price. The ship date was out several (6) weeks but shipped from the manufacturer early and was delivered several weeks early. All parts were marked clearly and easy to follow directions. With a construction background and good tools it was easy to build. The roof took 4 of us to install that was the hardest part. I contacted customer service about treating the wood. They got back to me the next day, Impressive. If you build this yourself pay attention to being level and square. I could not be happier with this pavilion! It is a beautiful and sturdy structure. The instructions were very clear and if you follow them you shouldn’t have any issues with putting it together. We assembled most of it in our garage and then carried it to the backyard. Pictures don’t do it justice, honestly. It WILL take 3 people to put frame in place and then put the roof on. But the rest can be done by one or two people. We broke it up into 2 days...there are a LOT of screws. Good to have two power drills with universal bits to save time. Also, at the end pay attention to the 1 1/4 screws. We mixed the two bags up but not a big issue. ... show more
