Description

Engineering of the new Crossfire was guided by the LT Concept of lighter, tougher reel designs utilizing state of the art composites. The new LT cuts as much as 20 percent of the reel weight from the old Crossfire design. A fact not lost on an angler who has put in a long day of fishing. The solid ABS Aluminum Spool resists flexing and distorting and is deep enough to hold plenty of line yardage. The heart of the reel is the cold forged and precision milled Digigears. The state of the art manufacturing process optimizies the meshing between the main and pinion gears. Daiwa's innovative proprietary grease makes the Advanced Tournament Drag System (ATD) one of the smoothest on the market. The fit and finish is complete with a smart Machined Aluminum Handle that optimizes grip and provides positive torque to the main gear. With reel sizes ranging from 1000 to 5000 the new CROSSFIRE LT line is comfortable in freshwater or light saltwater.

I've had this reel for about 8 months and love it! It casts very smooth and it feels good too. I live by the ocean so I do a mixture of saltwater and freshwater fishing and it handles both really well. Pros - great price and lightweight. Looks cool, assuming you’re into silver. Very very smooth for only 1 ball bearing Cons- hate to say it, but it feels cheap.. like it won’t stand up to substantial use. Rested it on a rock and already got a substantial scratch on the spool I had to sand down to avoid fraying my line fyi this isnt a typical daiwa size - the 5000 crossfire is comparable to my BG3000 ... show more

My first daiwa spinning reel, I’ve always been a shimano and pflueger guy. At the price point this is an outstanding reel. You can cast a mile with it and the bail operation is super smooth. I can see myself replacing more expensive reels with this one.
