Addendum: I have a total of 5 of these locks now, all replacing Kwikset electronic locks. These are great! August works well, if a little cumbersome. Not clear how to add just a code for someone without emailing it to them... Kwikset has fatal flaw with battery life... i just chunked the last one after a battery life of a month on a little used door. Bought two of these to help manage a remote location. Directions for install are straightforward...if you have ever put a lock in, no problem. Setting your master code and syncing may take some time... directions in package and on website are different, and take some retrys. Works well with August for remote management... Connection fails constantly. I think this is in part due to my Google Mesh router and the inability to set a dedicated 2.5 GHz channel, but Yale should make this more stable. I don't know how to explain why Bluetooth continues to fail, I have a Google Pixel 7. You will remain in an infinite troubleshooting loop with this model. Two of the number keys failed within the first few months. The replacement lock came and BOTH the screw holes for the "Long through bolt" were not threaded correctly (not user error- ie stripped), an actual manufacturer defect. We just use the keys now. I had a handyman install this, and it took about 1/2 an hour. Had to call the phone support to get it to connect to the app, but then it was all good. Easy to program and my kids each have their own code. Very worth the price!

The lock would not register/connect to the internet. I worked with the Yale support team for over an hour. After an hour the Yale support rep said I should return it as it was most likely a defect lock. I bought the lock for a house we own in Canada which we go to 4 or 5 times a year. Since I am no longer at the house in Canada I simply returned it for a refund. Overall, not a good experience and a hard lesson learned. ... show more

This replaced another Yale model that did not have actual buttons for the numbers. Lots of issues with the other one, but this one is great. It has been in use several months near the beach, and we've had no issues.

As a deadbolt it works well, but it does not work well as a smart lock. It uses an external bridge to connect to WiFi and Bluetooth. This device constantly looses connection. I would not recommend to anyone needing remote connectivity or remote access control.

Works fine as a keypad lock, but the remote interface with my phone is unreliable. We have an Android and an IPhone in the house and you can’t count on either one to connect. Very frustrating to have spent this much money on this lock. Would not recommend.
