    • Great rack - but understand what you're buying!
I drive a 2016 Toyota Tundra. I was in the market for a rack and ultimately decided on this one after doing quite a bit of research. The THULE was my second choice, but because it required I take off the rail system in my truck I decided against it. This rack is very sturdy. I felt like the installation was pretty straight forward. I would recommend anyone looking to buy this to head over to yakimatech.com first to ensure you're getting all the needed parts. It's true this doesn't come with the cross bars. You'll need to order those separately and you'll want to know what size to get based on your yr/mk/mdl for your application. This is not the cheapest rack out there. I'd have gone with the ROLA sold here on Amazon if it hadn't been fixed height, as it also worked with the rail system, but I highly valued the adjustable height. Do some research before making your purchase. If you're not picky, there are definitely cheaper products out there. I knew i was picky and I ended up paying for it but I do not have buyer's remorse. The quality is amazing on this rack. It's very well built, it's light. It comes off quickly if needed. It has bottle openers, tie downs, and an optional side-bar if you want that too. Overall, I would recommended this to others, but know what you're getting because you're not saving any money by picking Yakima. ... show more

I am an avid kayak angler. So I'm usually hauling more than one kayak around. When I purchased a 2021 Jeep Gladiator, I knew that I'd need to get some sort of bed rack for kayak transportation. I also need it to set up high because I'm often towing and camper or boat. Before the Jeep, I have used several other Yakima Roof Rack products (Ridgeline Towers and Baseline Towers) and have been satisfied with the performance and durability of these systems. So the Yakima OverHaul HD was a no-brainer for me. I've had this bed rack installed for several months now. Great product! Looks nice on my new Nissan Frontier. Was disturbed by the price, but once I received it was impressed by the quality. I bought the small crossbars and they were perfect size for my frontier (note: the small cross bars are not wide enough to hold 4 ft. wide items like plywood WITH the load stoppers, but will without them.) If you have a frontier with utilitrack system and dont want to waste all that space on the tracks (or spend a $120) on the adapters, just cut 3/4" of the long side of the "J" shaped clamps with a sawzall. Not sure if this will work on the Toyota system ... show more

These are fantastic. They are rugged and solid. I loaded up my rooftop tent and awning, and these didn’t budge. I know they are really too expensive, but I have peace of mind. My only wish is that Yakima would make more HD Bar connections to secure things like my rooftop tent on it. Making some brackets that secure to the shape of those bars would bring more peace of mind at highway speeds. ... show more

THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE CROSS BARS! I really like the rack. It works very well and is properly built. The kit does not include the cross bars. Make sure you take measurements and order the ones you need. Quality of build, fit and finish are 5 stars. The fact that you need to order bars separately should be boldy stated on every photo and at the very beginning of the product description. ... show more

    • This is ONE component of a system. Make sure to order vehicle adapter and bars separately!
There are lots of overland cargo racks available, but most seem to require an 8 to 12 week production time. I didn't have to wait for this rack. Also, most racks are NOT adjustable. Adjustability and versatility were very important to me. Yakima offers many accessories. The only thing I've found to criticize is that the locks face upward making it easy for water to enter the mechanism. That's trivial really. I squirted lube into the locks and covered the openings with vinyl tape. The system looks good on my Tacoma and is rock solid :) ... show more
