Maasdam Pow'R-Pull is the home of the original cable puller since 1946. For over 60 years, Maasdam has produced Pow'R-Pulls to exacting standards. The Maasdam Pow'R Pull A-100 Long Haul Rope Puller Come Along Tool includes 100 feet of highway approved 1/2 diameter wear resistant Dacron polyester rope and can also accommodate an unlimited length of rope such as Dacron polyester rope - twisted or braided. It has a one-piece aluminum alloy ratchet wheel and high strength electro-plated steel parts. The A-100 features Notch-At-A-Time Let for positive control and a trouble-free letdown. It has a long, flexible reach; conforming to and protecting your load. The A-100 is ideal for recovering vehicles, clearing debris, handling trees, logs, stumps, securing materials to trucks, moving boats and trailers, transporting furniture, and other applications. This rope puller tool also features a reinforced ratchet guard and a pawl safety spacer sleeve. With a 10:1 leverage, the Maasdam Pow'R Pull A-100 also has drop-forged steel slip hooks, and a non-slip plastic grip for a comfortable anti-fatigue handhold. The A-100 is constructed with a cold-rolled, high strength, tempered steel handle, and a high tensile, fully rotating steel swivel. I've never used a Rope come-a long before but I saw one in use when they were clearing some trees from my neighbors house and I had to have it. I dropped ass big ash tree that was overhanging my garage. This Pow'R puller with 3/4" rope is amazingly strong. I hooked it to my Kubota tractor and after I cranked it at tight as I could get it by hand, I pulled it even tighter with my tractor and the puller and the puller and rope held and the tree cleared to garage by 3-4 feet but. Before I hooked this rope, puller, and tractor to it, the tree was literally hanging halfway over the middle of the garage an leaning about 10-12 feet out of plumb. This puller and rope made my job a lot easier and even though I was very anxious before felling it, I was a lot less anxious when I saw how much pressure this puller and rope and actually I was able to pull the tress sideways enough that it cleared the garage by about 4'. This puller will take more than you can physically hand crank...and then some and, it did not slip once. I was pleasantly surprised (amazed actually), to see how much the rope and puller could take and it still functions perfectly after that intense pulling (abuse) the rope and puller took with my tractor. ... show more

    • Awesome tool
Best tool I have for cutting trees. Use this along with a notch bigshot. The sling shot to get a throw bag and line really high in the tree and this massdam will pull even the biggest trees right where you want them. I’ve dropped probably 50- 100 tree with these puller. I have two, my oldest ones wheel has started to strip. That’s mostly my fault for pulling fast. I pull before it gets a full latch. We use two people on this pulled. One person to clear the rope coming out and one to pull. With one person, you have to be careful not to tilt the puller or it’ll pinch the rope in the gears. ... show more

    • Worked beautifully!
We pulled a large maple against it's lean to fell it. It wasn't a serious lean and a more experienced forester probably would have laughed at us but we had a permanent tree stand in the likely path of the tree falling. We anchored a pulley to a nearby tree down low and put a strap on the maple up as high as we could reach with a ladder. We then placed the puller on a strap connected to another tree closer to the maple that we were cutting. We essentially created a big triangle. It only took a bit of figuring to get the puller working and we were putting tension on the tree in the direction we wanted. In our case, we had two people to cut down the tree. One was cutting the tree and one was running the puller. We still went very slowly to make sure we didn't lose control of the tree. We kept it under constant tension in the direction we wanted until it was going that direction all on it's own. The rope included is a braid with large peaks and valleys which correspond to the grooves on the pulley wheel. I have another rope I had intended to use but it has a very smooth exterior surface so I'm wondering if would work as well. In this case the included 100' rope was plenty for my use so I didn't need to find out how the other rope would work. ... show more

A must for cutting down trees, sturdy and easy to use. Trees fall down where you want them to. We have two now to make trees close to wires and house easier to cut. Very trust worthy....

    • This rope puller is so useful
This rope puller is so useful, I have used it to cut down 5 trees in a direction. Because the tall trees on one side of my vegetable garden will block the sun, I can use this rope puller to avoid the yard railings and make them fall outside the yard, which is very successful. The day before yesterday, I cut down a big tree near the chimney of the house and used a rope puller to bring the tree down in the right direction. Although I made 45-degree cuts in the trees and used wedges, since the trees were all leaning the other way, I definitely wouldn't have dared to do it without this rope puller. I still have a few trees that need to be removed. In order to remove these trees, I hired a professional company to negotiate the price. They wanted $4,000-$5,000. Now, I can DIY remove these trees safely and confidently. I never expected it. I give this rope puller the highest rating, yay! ... show more

    • Great tool to own if you do your own tree work
I never give 5 star reviews. We have owned this item less than month and so don't know how well it holds up over the long term. That being said, we've used it twice to take down half dead trees that were leaning towards the house and it worked great. We are by no means "lumberjacks", but know how to safely and effectively use a chainsaw. We bought this because we have many trees on our property which need to come down due to severe damage suffered during an ice storm. A local tree service company was going to charge us $175 to remove just one tree and so it has already paid for itself. This is a great tool to have and has helped us feel confident when taking down dangerous trees where one wrong move would result in property damage either to our home or other healthy trees we wish to keep. ... show more
