  • Very impressed so far
Size: 50"
Installed these on a 2015 Mazda3 hatchback, and I'm thrilled I picked these over the oem bars. I installed them with the landing pad, skyline towers, and windshield. The yakima system is expensive but you get what you pay for. Cons: The installation was a bit of a pain and the directions could have been better. Pros: Once installed this thing was solid. It's clearly not going anywhere. There is no flex, rattle or movement of any kind. I didn't try without the windshield but with it the wind noise is minimal if any. Doesn't interfere with the sunroof at all. ... show more

  • Lightweight and Strong
Size: 50"
The Yakima 50" CoreBar is a very solid product! There is really not much to say about these bars but they are very light and strong. There is some noticeable wind noise produced from them but they are fairly aerodynamic which helps decrease the noise. I have them installed on a 2008 Subaru Outback and they are just right for that vehicle. ... show more

  • Great cross bars
Size: 50"
A bit pricy for what they are, but guaranteed to fit with towers. Measure for needed width carefully before buying. I'm glad that I did not spend more on the higher end aluminum versions. Used to install a large rooftop carrier from Yakima on a station wagon. No regrets once I got over the price of the entire system. Now I have something that I can put on for loaded car trips that should last for well over a decade. An additional note is that it was easy to remove within 10 minutes - so if not needed for a few weeks or more, make them last longer by removing and storing them within the rooftop box itself and keep that indoors. ... show more

  • Semi aero desing, mid-range price with quality.
Size: 50"
I bought it used, but it was like brand new. Semi aero design, made of steel so it feels sturdy. A bit noticeable wind noise but not nothing intolerable. I bought the 50" corebars for my 2012 Mazda3 sedan. Yakima SkiLine towers, two pairs of Yakima Landing Pads11, and locks. Weight limit is 160 lbs.

  • Love these bars
Size: 70"
These bars are fantastic. I have round bars on my sedan, but got these for my truck system I built for my F-150. I can attach my cargo carrier, bike racks, or anything else. The great thing is, I can remove this whole system in under a couple minutes with the Yakima Landing Pads and put big stuff in the bed again. Really happy with this, Yakima makes fantastic stuff. ... show more

  • Quiet, but also heavy and the coating cracks/shrinks in the sun
Size: 50"
I have CoreBars on several vehicles and I like them, but they are fairly expensive for what you get. They're just steel tube drawn into a particular shape and then coated with some plastic layer. Yes, it's a non-standard shape, but really, once they have the dies made it's not that big of a deal. Or maybe it is because another gripe is that Yakima charges basically the same for all size bars...they should at least scale their prices according to length. Another gripe is that the plastic coating doesn't hold up to high desert sun; the coating cracks. If you live in the desert west, expect that nice black plastic coating to eventually split. It's purely aesthetic and not really noticeable, but it does expose bare metal so perhaps they'll rust if you decide to move someplace wet. So those two things are why they get four stars - they cost $$$$$ (yes, 5 monies) and the coating cracks in the sun. On the plus side, their aero shape means they're quiet. They're also strong as hell because they're about 0.065" wall (ish) without that plastic coating and that shape makes them hard to bend...which is good. They're easy to cut to whatever length you want. I've cut a set down to better fit the roof...I got the 80" bars so I could make two 38" sets since it sucks swapping a basket out for bike racks or a roof tent or whatever. You can buy a second set of end caps direct from Yakima. Although Yakima seems to have figured out people cut down the long bars and the 80" ones seem harder to find now. Maybe it's the supply shortage though, who knows. They're also not super light. I mean, they're steel after all. So if you care about that (I don't) get aluminum bars. ... show more

  • Satisfied
Size: 60"
Bought them for our recent TX-MI-TX trip and they worked great. Have a 2012 Ford Flex and I didn't experience any additional road noise or loss of MPG. Don't know if that's typical but that's what worked for me. Had to get Yakima Mighty Mount 39H as my old Space Cadet box connections wouldn't fit around the bar, but that was on me and the Mighty Mount connections did the job. ... show more

  • Excellent, strong, easy to install
Size: 60"
Perfect fit, strong and durable to hall what you'd like on the roof, and nicely aerodynamic.
