I purchased this unit to store in the glovebox in case this situation happened again. Out of curiosity, I unhooked both cables from my battery in the trunk, and hooked this jump box up to the remote terminals under the hood. It did exactly what I wanted and allowed the trunk to pop, and doors to unlock. Since this worked so well, I decided to get in and press the start button...this think cranked my car! I was a little confused about how to use at first but with a little practice it’s no problem now. this thing has revised my dead 2016 Subaru legacy multiple times at this point (I gotta remember to leave my lights on auto). And I’ve used it to charge my phone as well. It’s also tiny and I really was surprised it charged my car battery.
