Pump did not work. Requested a refund and bought different brand. Returned unused as pump never turned on. Seller only attempting to return 50% as a restocking fee. I contacted seller and they did end up refunded the full amount.

The pump appears to work well. I used filter balls instead of sand so we’ll see how that works in the long run. Two major things that keep this from being 5 stars: #1 there is no timer on this pump. In order to stop & start pump, you have to physically go out and turn it on or off. Really inconvenient when traveling and pump will be running 24/7 while we are gone. Thought about using an external timer but I am leery because the GFI may not work properly. #2: the collar between the pump & filter has 2 nuts & bolts to hold it in place. The bolts (screws) are excessively long, for some unknown reason. It is also difficult to properly tighten them to provide a good seal. I can see this is going to be a real issue when needing to add to or replace filter medium. It would have been much simpler to use latches instead. I’m still not 100% sure I am going to keep this pump. Intex makes one the same size that has a timer function.
