  • This seems to be a solid energy saving pool pump UPDATE!
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
I thought i would leave a review to get some feedback started on this pump. This same pump is being sold for about 30% more $ at a major online pool supply seller. I just installed last week so this is short term. the pump was packed well and arrived in good shape. it replaced a 1 hp single speed and went right in place with no major pipe work.i am running 24/7 on eco at 1500 rpm. it is quiet on eco. you need to be standing over the pump to hear it running. when on boost setting i would say it sounds like a standard pump. At this point, for the price i would not hesitate to make this purchase again. UPDATE! After about 3 weeks the pump started starting and stopping intermittently. I have returned the pump and asked for a refund. I keep my pool open year round and I cant trust the pump to run as it needs to during freezing temos. ... show more

  • Don’t get ripped off with this pump
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
I knew I was going to need a new pump this spring so I got one of these at the end of January. In early March I got around to installing it. I did a start up and everything seemed fine. I was doing a lot of work around the pool and didn’t open it until yesterday, May 3rd. Started fine and ran fine until 11:30 PM when my program had it slow to 1150 RPM. I got an E300 error and it had shut down. This morning I did some troubleshooting and it gives an error whenever the speed is below 1500. So I have a quieter than average single speed pump at the cost of a variable speed. What a deal! I’m well past the 30 days, even though I only ran it for one. Decided to go to the seller. Guess what, no warranty. I don’t recall having ever made a worse purchase. I originally gave it one star, then bumped it up to two. I‘ve taken it back down to one. It did not perform as promised from the first day. Which is why I gave it a two. About once a week no I am having to increase its speed because it’s losing its capacity to run at lower speeds. I contacted Extremepowerusa for help. They did respond, but their answer was pretty much let us know if you figure anything out and we will improve future generations. I went to their store and saw mostly cheap knock offs of decent products. I can safely say that I will never purchase anything that they are selling again. The pump is degrading. I seriously doubt it will last the season. ... show more

  • Good pump for the price.
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
Granted I've only used it about a month, but so far it's been a great little pump for my in ground pool. For the price it's real quiet and easy to setup and I might buy another for my pond.

  • Defective but nice pump
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
Nice pump for scheduling and changing speeds. Didn't think it collected much debris into skimmer without manual help. Turns out mine is defective have to return as it continually gives error code E300, no water/load when actually everything checks out. Very disappointed No problem so far with return request. Price was good along with noise level when it did work, monitored kilowatts used, I believe it did use less then other pumps. Does take a bit to understand how to change factory settings ... show more

  • Avoid this pump, horrible customer service
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
Don't buy this. The unit functions, and actually is quiet when it is running, ever. However, after running through one complete cycle of speeds, the unit shuts down, throws up an error code of e300, which is not in the manual. I contacted the manufacturer, they are pretty much worthless. I emailed them, they did reply back, with a one-line answer explaining that the e300 code is a No Load error, there was no explanation as to what this error meant, I looked it up online, and it seemed to be consistent with an obstruction, I confirmed that there was no obstruction of the floor drains or our wall skimmer going into the unit, and as soon as you restart the unit, it would start pushing water out rather well, only to fire off the error code once again. I was attempting to get additional troubleshooting, the phone number is not staffed, and when I tried to get additional troubleshooting via email, the person working for XtremepowerUSA literally cut and pasted the message from the phone line into the email and sent it back to me. It was almost laughable. It's unfortunate because I actually like this unit, it's quiet, and when it does run it seems to run well, but I cannot figure out nor stop this error code from occurring. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
Had nothing but issues with it. Have tried to program it six times. Did a factory reset and pump shuts off at various times for no reason. Trips a no load fault code when there is no flow issues at all. Worst pump I have ever owned.

  • Nice pump for the money, hope it holds up
Pattern Name: 1.5HP Pool Pump W/ Variable Speed
The media could not be loaded. Update 1/11/2025 Knocking review to 1 star, digital readout malfunction. Some digits lost their illumination, making it harder to program. Installed it as replacement to run pool waterfall, working great so far, cannot complain. It is used very sparingly cannot comment if was used to run the pool vac several hours a day. Wanted to point out that when one of the ground wires was loose on the terminal block. Other thing I wanted to point out is while this pump ships configured on 110 Volts the manual states is draws around 5 amps. Also in the manual and terminal block it looks like this pump can be wired for 220 but you need to change the wire configuration on the terminal block of the pump. Lastly the pump is quiet, significantly quieter than my Pentair 3hp variable speed. Which brings me to my last point, some reviewer answered question that this is a rebadged Pentair pump, that statement is false , it is not. The build quality and the controller on Pentair is superior in comparison. The pump does have the same color scheme as Pentair and blends with the equipment, that’s a bonus! ... show more
