I have no idea why the key stopped working. I programmed the old key back in to the computer and it started right up. The tool is completely useless without the downloads but are unavailable in the US! It is a WAY overpriced code reader! I have tried to contact the seller but they will do nothing because on a different listing it says to ask if it will do what you need BEFORE you purchase this item. tool was difficult to use and did not cover auto brands it advertised - even after upgrading software. Honda not covered in dashboard feature. Codes not explained, user manual not useful in describing or explaining diagnostic functions. Came in a nice case with all needed hardware but tool not useful ... show more
