Convenience is worth it. Adjusting honeycomb tray is a breeze. Wood blocks should never have been an option. The laser units should just automatically come with this base riser in my opinion.

This is a must have for the M1. It raises the machine up higher in order to do your larger projects, like tumblers, vases, glasses, more proficiently. The honeycomb is a must have too. If you have the M1, you need this.

I LOVE this thing! It makes setting up the M1 for different material sizes sooooo much easier. I didn't purchase it until almost a year after I bought my M1, so I had been MacQuyver-ing different ways to accommodate the change in height for items that were too tall or not-flat to be able to use with the standard setup. I love that you can EASILY just move the honeycomb tray from inside the M1 to one of the lower slots on the riser base when you go from something flat to something round or tall. The ONLY thing I do not like about the honeycomb tray is that you lose a couple of inches of cutting area when its in use. You can still use it, but the materials will overhang around the border, causing burning on the back side of your materials. Other than this - no regrets!
