I just needed a bidirectional tablet with a TPMS scanner built-in. The XTOOL IP819TP one of only 2 options in the market for such a product, and the price is very good given this! I went ahead and bought this tablet over the competition due to XTOOL's reputation for customer service. I am very glad to say that reputation holds up, and I got the most thorough customer service I could ask for! The tablet itself works well, it was able to connect Hondas, BMW, Lexus, Toyota. The battery life depletes a bit fast, but I now ensure to keep the tablet charged and turned off when unused. TPMS scanning worked perfectly with all the vehicles above. It is able to read data and issue commands very fast, which XTOOL beats its competition in for all their products. Given this and TPMS scanning built-in, it's an excellent value. Customer service was also amazing as my tablet had an issue connecting to Hondas only. Unfortunately the engineers initially thought I needed a custom VCI to address the issue, but I still felt it was a software issue (as the Honda app would simply attempt connection then stop without an error message). I then reset the tablet to delete all car apps and re-download them and this solved the issue. I had coordinated with Phoebe and her engineers throughout this process, and even with the time difference, there was always <24 hour response times from them! We have a 50 email thread with each other going over this issue and thanks to their persistence as well, we got the tablet fixed up! Phoebe and XTOOL also rewarded me for the trouble over this issue, and this is why I decided to keep this tablet! XTOOL customer service is unmatched with the competition, so I can rely on that more than other products. Thanks again so much for the help! I am very happy with this purchase and would gladly recommend it to anyone!

X tool has so many different scanners with different capabilities with different attachments it's completely confusing The best room was their TP model which after you dig into the description says it only works on x tool tire pressure monitors what good is that it's worthless Anyway I went through four different models and finally learned to dig into every page I could find on the model number for the scanner and figured out the 👉 D8👈 is the best overall

3.5 stars Tablet works great for the most part. The tpms feature is a welcome addition. My biggest issue is that it'll drain the battery in less than a day in standby mode. Downloads are glitchy. You'll get them... eventually. Hardware feels aged. USB-C would be a welcome addition compared to the clunky ac charger given that it needs to stay connected to the wall when not in use. All in all it's a good unit with some obvious shortcomings. If you don't need tpms functionality, spend a little more and get something better.

I bought the D8W in hopes of using it as a standalone go to scan tool, for key progammig TPMS activation. I loved it, the typology features, the smootheness of the interface etc. Hovever luckily for me one of my cars TPMS sensor went bad. I thoguht the D8W would be able to wake/ sense and test each sensor directly but to my disspointment it could not. This lead me to buy the Xtool TP150 which again was another great XTool product. I loved it and used to to activate and install the new sensor but it lacked the other diagnotic scanning features that wanted and I was dissapointed that my more expesive D8W needed addiditonal tool to do this funciton. So I sought out a all in one solution and found this. It offers both functionality. I would have preffered these fxn being included in the D8W as its bigger, has topology mapping and is more updated with better battery life and usb C connectivity for charging etc but given i am seekign basic functionality. I am better of with just this tool easier to stoore and carry or the d8W with the TP150. I prefer as little tools as posible. Additionally a battery tester woud have been helpful too.

I had tried a few different scanners before finally deciding on this one. It really is the best of both worlds! The TPMS feature added in which usually you would need an additional tool is great and it DOES trigger and program the sensors as well! That was an issue I had with other scanners, they would read the sensors just fine, and also would program the ECU with the new codes IF you knew them and IF the sensors were already triggered into "awake mode". Although if you needed to replace them and they were not "awake" to read their HEX code TO program the ECU, then you needed another tool just to trigger and "wake up" the sensor so you COULD program the car with the new sensor's info. It's so nice to do it with ONE tool now! As an added bonus, the XTOOL customer service was amazing and very understanding of me returning the 2 prior units until I finally found the one that worked for me. Definitely a keeper for me, both the unit and the XTOOL brand itself for their awesome customer service after the sale!
