  • Quality and compact unit that meets expectations and then some
Style: WS300
I spent a good amount of time going through a bunch of manufacturers of these type of walking/light jogging machines and finally decided on the XTERRA Folding Smart Treadmill. Knowing that I and the wife are primarily using this for fast walking I wanted to have a unit that had a power incline along with a more powerful motor that was capable of getting into the fast jogging to running mode so I knew that in fast walking mode the motor would have no issues accommodating that and wouldn't strain under that load. I will say that it came boxed well with the usual scrapes and tears that come with something of this size. Although it is billed as foldable and compact, it is a much heavier unit than I realized and it will take two people to get it to its destination even with it folded down. I had no intention of trying to store this unit or fold it up again once it got to its destination but because it was not as wide or long as some treadmills which was one of my primary concerns, this unit fit that bill nicely. The controls are easy enough and the machine is very quiet. I like that the tablet holder is a full size one that has no issue holding a 10" Fire tablet that I listen to podcasts or audible on while walking. This is a Smart unit and has the FTMS ability built in that essentially allows the unit to broadcast information to various apps such as Zwift, Kinomap, BitGym etc if you are looking for a way to spice things up or gamify your usage. It comes with a free no credit card trial of KinoMap which is neat but I am more focused on listening during my walks. There are probably more of these apps out there and as long as it supports the FTMS protocol then I suspect it will work with this device. Other than pulling up the handles and display and making sure they are locked in there is truly no setup. There is a heart rate monitor built in that senses your heart rate when holding onto the handles with the built in sensor which is surprisingly pretty darn accurate. If you are into any of the Peloton type of guided workouts than I would suggest downloading the Xterra App as it is free with the purchase and has a bunch of guided sessions as well as it has the ability to track your progress using the data from each session on the treadmill. The power incline works very well and I vary that during my 20-30 minute walks and was something I wanted in a treadmill like this and it does not disappoint. All in all this was a good purchase and as of now it looks like it will stand the test of time and has met our expectations for this type of usage. ... show more

  • Completely unreliable
Style: WS300
After exactly 9 (nine!) days of use, the incline feature stopped working, giving me error04 warning. Tried calling Xterra's customer service, which sent me for a loop of choosing different options but never providing a live human being to speak to. The box it came in was damaged so I had to pack it up somehow on my own, which just adds to the overall negative experience. ... show more

  • Nice treadmill-only one issue
Style: WS300
7/22/26 UPDATE: I have owned this for a couple of years now and still love it! No issues with mine and I use it at least 5 days a week most of the time. They did send a guy out to fix the arm on mine quickly after I bought it. They were very responsive. Definitely recommend. I depend on reviews when I make purchases so wanted to update mine since I have been so pleased with it. So far l like this treadmill, incline works well as does the bluetooth feature to keep track of my workouts. The running deck size is perfect (5'8 female). I watch a show on my iphone while walking using the tablet holder. My only issue is the arm on the right will not lock in place. The one on the left works easily but for some reason the right will not. I have submitted a warranty claim to Xterra for that as I do not want to have to return it. It is heavier than I thought so I am not able to easily move it around so I just leave it in place. It does fold flat though. I was between this one and the Echelon Stride Sport. I will update my review after I hear from Xterra on the arm issue. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Style: WS300
Bought June 2024, died April 2026. Would turn the machine on and it would shut itself off within a few seconds. My mom and I bought this for at home workouts. She's short and 120lb, I'm tall and 215lb. The tread would slip when you went over speed 3. you couldn't run without holding onto the handrails. Mom and I were in constant fear of releasing the handrails and slipping off the machine. We used it bc we spent money on it, but were kind of relieved when it died and we could buy a better machine (horizon 7.0AT). The Xterra was easy to put together and to store, easy to move around when I needed space and folded flat under the couch.... But that was the end of the convenience and usability. Save your money and buy a better machine if you're doing anything more than walking while reading a book. ... show more

  • Would definitely buy again!
Style: WS300
We have this machine set up in our living room. It’s surprisingly quiet. So easy to use with Apple Fitness treadmill workouts while watching TV. We place a phone or iPad on the display rack and get to work. Great streamlined design — love, love, love that there’s no bulky screen+control display. The deck is roomy enough to run and walk confidently, even for the big and very tall men in my family. Incline and speed controls are responsive and easy to use. Seem pretty accurate too. Easy enough to fold the arms and control bar down to roll under the stairs when company is coming over. Machine rolls well and it folds down to about 6 inches or so. Love the hideability! Have owned for over 6 months and two of us use it 3 to 4 times a week. On average, we use it 4 to 6 hours weekly. ... show more

  • Decent Treadmill, Bluetooth Doesn't Work
Style: WS300
This is a very nice treadmill, comes almost completely assembled, and seems to work pretty well. I like the incline, though it only goes up to 10%. The touch controls give it a very sleek and modern appearance, but are a bit impractical since they often seem to be either too sensitive or not sensitive enough when you're trying to make adjustments while using the treadmill. Up to this point I would have given it 4 stars, however, the BLUETOOTH doesn't work... it connects to the app as you can see in the images, but it doesn't transmit any data. The customer support from XTERRA takes days to respond, and basically told me to follow the instructions, which I did and provided images as proof. Honestly I would have been ok without that feature, but I feel that without it, the treadmill is way overpriced; I wouldn't have paid that much for it. ... show more

  • Walking pad and treadmill had a baby
Style: WS300
We bought the WS300 in July 2024 for about $425. It has served us very well over the past year and a half. I love the fact that it has a smaller footprint than a regular treadmill and that it is easy to fold up and transport. We could have purchased a higher end and more substantial secondhand/used treadmill at the same price or less, but the time and effort trying to personally haul that thing out of somebody’s house and into our basement just wasn’t worth it. We primarily use this treadmill for steady state cardio, i.e., walking at an incline. Because it’s lighter weight I wouldn’t recommend this for any serious runners or for runs lasting longer than 20 minutes. I find the stability of it is sufficient for walking, but I think it would do a number on my joints if I were to use it for running. Heart rate sensors can be hit or miss. The buttons have gotten a little finicky over the past year and a half, but other than that no concerns. Would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for something in between a traditional treadmill and a walking pad. ... show more

  • This treadmill suddenly stops while you are walking on it
Style: WS300
I replaced a broken old treadmill with this one. It had a 90 day warranty. After the warranty expired it started to stop while in use. If you weren't holding the handles that would be very dangerous. Fortunately I bought an asurion protection plan. So far we have not yet gotten satisfaction from asurion. We are working on it. ... show more
