  • This SSD Is Legit For PS5/Best Bang For Your Buck
Capacity: 2TB Style: [S70 Blade] 7400/6800MB/s
I originally sat on getting an SSD because they were so pricey. I get the 1TB SSD aren’t to steep in price but I feel like with PS5 and next gen 1TB isn’t enough and will take all that space up quickly. Especially if you are a gamer like myself. Plus I had a external 2TB hard drive(from the PS4 generation) granted you could only play PS4 games on it and store PS5 games but not play them. I finally pulled the trigger seeing the 2TB XPG Gammix S70 Blade was on sale for $249. Had some Christmas money to spend so out of pocket I paid maybe $125. This thing is a beast and worth my money if you ask me. I didn’t use the heat sink that comes with the SSD and instead opted to get the MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD Heatsink, Double Sided Heat Sink With Thermal Silicone Pad For PC/PS5. The only part that was difficult was putting the heatsink and SSD together and installing it into the PS5 and even that isn’t very difficult. There are a lot of how to videos online and even on Amazon. The heatsink I mentioned has a video of someone installing that heat sink with a SSD and I went off that. Worked like a charm and I was able to install it my first try. When you boot your PS5 your prompted with a message saying you have a M.2 SSD and it needs to be formatted. I formatted it and I was given a read speed of 6270. Which is 700 more than the SSD on your PS5 motherboard. When I went to settings and checked the storage it was there with my external hard drive and it said I had 2.05TB free. Good to see that you actually get 2TB and a tad bit more. First thing I did was transfer games from SSD to SSD. I took Horizon Zero Dawn moved it from internal to the newly installed SSD and it transferred in 10 seconds. No joke 10 seconds. Than I took The Uncharted Collection from my external hard drive and transferred it to the new SSD that one took a bit longer due to the external not being no where near as fast as a SSD but even that took about 7-10 minutes. Last I took three games from my library Hollow Knight, Darksiders 3 and Far Cry 6 and installed them(not transfer actually install from scratch) and those three games took about 20 minutes tops. That being said this is a affordable SSD and it is legit in speed. I played Horizon Zero Dawn and Far Cry 6 and load times were identical to the mother board SSD. Can’t complain I’m a happy camper with my purchase. I now have the internal SSD of 667GB with a 2TB extra storage installed along with a external hard drive giving me 4.6TB of space. Which I personally think is more than enough to last the PS5 generation. That being said do yourself a favor and get this product it’s worth every penny if you ask me. Hardest part is the installation process but even than, it’s not that difficult. ... show more

  • Avoid this product and, especially, this seller
Capacity: 1TB Style: [S70 Blade] 7400/6800MB/s
My 1TB Gammix S70 Blade was installed in new build as the boot drive; Windows 10 installed easily, programs & files transferred with no problems; it ran perfectly for about 2 weeks. Then, on 04/05/2022, my S70 "disappeared" overnight while the computer was in sleep mode. Now (after installing a different m.2 SSD, Windows 10 again, and transferring all my files), ADATA SSD Toolbox sees the S70 drive as "MN-5236"; indicates firmware is latest version; total bytes written as 0.00TB. Windows 10 sees it as "Unknown"; 2.0 GB unallocated; not initialized. My BIOS sees it a 2.0 GB and "Unknown". By the time I got my system back up and running, the Amazon 30 day return window was past. I followed, as best I could, the Amazon Customer Service directions to submit a claim to Adata on their website. I have attempted to submit that claim dozens of times over the last 2-3 weeks. At first, I just thought their site was having repairs or temporary problems. It would say an "error" was encountered and to "try again later". To Amazon's discredit, they have not followed up as they promised and they are unavailable to help any further! The S70 worked perfectly until it just "disappeared"; the product MAY, if you get one without a problem, be a decent SSD, but the seller, Adata, is not in the business of backing their product when there IS a problem; it is as if they are hiding! I strongly urge anyone considering the S70 Blade to pay a bit more and stick with a company that thinks enough of their name to at least be available to deal with customer warranty issues. Further, be advised not to count on Amazon for any meaningful assistance beyond the 30 day return window; they appear to be hiding, too. (I bought my replacement SSD from Best Buy at a physical store!) ... show more

  • Fast and the best value for ps5!
Capacity: 1TB Style: [S70 Blade] 7400/6800MB/s
Shopped around and found this beauty for $110. This is faster and cheaper than the more expensive brands. It comes with a free thin heatsink that is perfect for fitting in the Playstation 5 expansion bay. Only had it for a few days but so far and so good. Update: Do not buy this drive! Out of nowhere it started over heating. It kept shutting down my ps5. I would take it out and my ps5 worked fine. In about a year or so it would not work at all. I went to remove the included heat sink and the drive cracked in half. This was days after not being able to reach anybody about the warranty. There are other drives made by silicon power and such that seems to be more reliable in this price range. I trashed it and will avoid future xpg products My theory is the included heat sink was not enough and it would run too hot ... show more

  • Easy to install and good value during Prime day
Capacity: 4TB Style: [S70 Blade] 7400/6800MB/s
I bought this at prime day. The speed is fast. I am planning to replace the main 1 TB with this 4GB on my Rog Strix gaming laptop to make it 6 TB on my total storage. I put it on my 10Gbps external usb c enclosure and clone my main nvme to this nvme. It only took few minutes to get it done. I haven't install it directly on my laptop yet because I still need to resize the original partition from mere 500G to 3.8TB with left over for other GPT partitions. I probably need to buy another 4TB just for a single Linux partition. I don't like dual boot which fail once in a while due to Windows update. So I am going to boot to different partition using by using bios selection. It is a bit hassle but safer. I have multiple virtual OSes running within Windows but a full fledge Linux is always the best. ... show more
