I finally replaced our malfunctioning uplights with these and was nervous whether they would put out enough light or too much. They were perfect! Once installed, you can not only change the color, but the brightness! Very easy to hardwire into the existing light sections of our house (we have 4), if you know how to do electrical work. The app setup was a bit of a nightmare, at first, trying to pair them manually and not through wi-fi. But once I got the hang of it, it was a piece of cake. We have changed the lights monthly, to match seasonal holidays and are currently showing a red/white/blue theme. They are streamlined and aren't bulky compared to our house facade. The fourth would not turn off so I contacted XMCosy service. They had a replacement out within 2 days, faster than the initial order. Support was very easy to work with. They are good. I’m still baffled by the fact that they don’t have a light sensor. They connect to wi-fi and use sunset and sunrise times to automatically turn on and off. On dark, cloudy days this is not helpful. The app is a little confusing as well. Otherwise, they work well and consistently.

They can be programmed to music you can program them to do your own programs through their app. You can connect it to Alexa or Google and if you name your program, you can tell Alexa to run that program and it will turn the lights on to the program that you want Size: They are a decent size. I purchased these to replace old ones and I very pleased. They look very contemporary and upgraded our home. My wife likes how the color temperature of light can be set to give just the right ambiance. I like the Alex integration. They are heavy and well built which I can attest to because one of mine failed shortly after purchase. XMCosy was very good about it and quickly replace it without a hassle. They did not require me to return the old one so I thought I'd take it apart to perhaps salvage parts. I can confirm after trying to disassemble how well it's built. The only other comment I'd make is that these require the power to left on to work with Alexa, obviously. If you're connecting to a circuit that is switched, you may discover as I did that people will use the switch to turn off the light which means it won't work via wi-fi until you turn it back on at the switch. I purchased clear plastic switch covers to go over those switches. Problem solved. ... show more

    • Shorted the lights inside my house

To preface this, I am not an electrician, so I might use the wrong terminology. I bought this light because of its sleek and modern look. I loved the concept and thought it would fit perfectly in my space! I had to wait for an electrician I know to install it because I didn't think I could do it right myself. It took him until after my return date to come out, but that was no issue for me because I was just so excited for this light and didn't foresee any problems. The next day, when I turned on my porch light, the most of the lights inside my house shorted out! I thought there might be an issue elsewhere, but this was the only recent change I had made. I called several other people over, thinking it was installed incorrectly. We checked all the connections, and everything was perfect. We even went as far as reinstalling it to ensure it wasn't user error. After all of that, I went to flip everything on my breaker panel to get my inside lights to come on, but nothing worked. We ended up hitting the nearest "Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlet" as a last resort, and my inside lights turned back on! After that incident, whenever we turned on the porch light via the light switch inside, sparks would fly from my new porch light, and all my lights would short out again. I wanted this to work so badly, but I guess it's not meant for every home. I would've returned it had I been within the return window. ... show more

Love them: great-looking, easy to install, easy to control using either WiFi or Bluetooth. I did have to modify the mounting plate for the junction boxes, but that was easy to do with a dremel tool. An electric drill would also work. I used plumber’s putty to seal around the edges of the irregular brick surface they were mounted on.
