Features

  • FROSTED BLUE/BLACK 14 GAUGE SPEAKER WIRE 100 FT (30.5m) - The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire. Thicker wire presents less resistance to current flow.
  • OPPER CLAD ALUMINUM (CCA) - CCA wiring provides a good conductor for transmitting audio. This is the most economical option when choosing speaker wires to use as radio wires or car audio speaker wire.
  • RUGGED PVC JACKET - Allows free, wide and seamless adjustment of the required physical properties of this wire such as flexibility, elasticity, and impact resistance.
  • EASY POLARITY IDENTIFICATION - This two color jacket allows for easy polarity identification. Making a polarity mistake could be damaging to your audio equipment.
  • SOFT TOUCH JACKET - The jacket on our cable is designed with the installer in mind. The flexibility of this jacket allows for easy routing and has a low memory.

  • Great wires, great price
Size: 100 Feet Color: Blue Number of Items: 1
INITIAL REVIEW: Advertising: This speaker wire comes exactly as described and pictured. Shipping & Item condition: Arrived on time and in good working condition with no damaging. Price: $15.99 - This wire, for the gauge and amount of feet you receive, appeared to be some of (if not the) cheapest priced speaker wire I could find. Build Quality/Durability: The wire is true to size and has a nice thick sleeve that has a good feel to it. I was considering getting those fancy-looking braided sleeves, but the quality is good enough that they are unnecessary. They split and removed easily as well (though I had a wire stripper, which helped to get a clean strip/cut). Performance: I have not yet seen any performance issues with these wires. I'm not an audiophile, nor do I have special audio tools to measure their performance. Considering, however, that I ran about 20 feet around my room, and under my carpet, and still hear no issues with my surround speakers, I'd say they are up to par. Design/Features: Not much to say in this department. They're speaker wires. What you see is what you get. Overall: Very impressed with the quality-to-price ratio you get with these wires. They look good, feel good, sound good. No complaints here! 1 Year review UPDATE: I've had these wires for about a year now, and I have had zero issues with them. I've had speakers get knocked down and the wires ripped out from the connections, yet they still work fine. They're just plain speaker wires, after all, so there's not much to complain about. Still a great product producing great sound! ... show more

  • Really Good Speaker Wire
Size: 100 Feet Color: Blue Number of Items: 1
UPDATE 5/3/18: Purchased a 2nd 100" roll. Great speaker wire. Original Review: Although it's typical to use 16 and 18 gauge speaker wire to hook up your speakers you really should use a heavier gauge. The heavier gauge helps to reduce losses on long runs and helps to ensure low-frequency damping which can affect bass performance. Of course, it's sometimes of a mystery exactly what size wire gauge you should use. If the manufacturer of the amp you're using specifies the minimum size gauge based on the length of the run then you're home free usually. Unfortunately most manufacturers leave out such information. It is possible to get copper wire as thick as 4 gauge, but unless you're powering a Tesla Coil I'd stay clear of it unless you're prepared to call in your local utility company to run it for you. In general, a 14 gauge size speaker wire is a good size to use for runs of 50 feet or less. Yes, you can use 14 gauge for longer runs if you want, but I'd suggest 12 gauge for runs over 50 feet. Typical 14 gauge speaker wire is rather thickly insulated and somewhat stiff to work with. And too often such wire is not marked with any polarity stripe to keep the positive and negative the same at both ends of the run when you hook up the speaker and amp. Sometimes, the insulation for one conductor will have a white stripe, but not always, or each bundle of the pair of wires will have a silver and gold coating to make it easier to see and use for the positive and negative connections. But in dimly lighted areas tinted wire still can be difficult to see. The installGear 14 Gauge solves both problems by being flexible, making it very easy to work with, and it's insulation is clearly color-coded so that you'll be certain to properly wire the positive and negative terminals at both the speakers and the amplifier. You really can't go wrong with this wire for speakers. TRistate, the vendo, got my order out to me in excellent time. 6/1/18 - Bought another 200 feet worth. It would be nice if this speaker wire came in moe than 100 feet rolls. ... show more

  • Great Value. Half the retail price from them ($16.00) vs. Lowe's @ $31.00

Did not yet use. Keeping it for future use. 14AWG wire is excellent for moderate to longer runs of wire for high quality sound reproduction especially with 'vintage' stereo components from the 1970's like Pioneer, Kenwood , Marantz receivers and integrated amplifiers connecting to good quality two way and three way speaker systems. I am currently using 16 AWG wire (one diameter smaller) for my Pioneer SA- 9500-2 integrated amplifier rated @ 80 watts per channel RMS continuous power output from 20hz-20,000 hz into 8 ohms with 0.05 % THD ( Total Harmonic Distortion) using 4 Technics 3 way speaker systems with bass ported 12" woofers. (hz=hertz same as cps= cycles per second) : how many vibrations a particular tone or frequency makes in one second from positive to negative creating the sound you hear and enjoy. My stereo system is vintage 1977 and works perfectly. It is well made. Try finding that today! Heavier wire means less resistance resulting in less power being wasted in friction producing heat allowing for more efficient power transfer used for reproducing the music rather than being wasted away in extra resistance producing friction that generates heat. 14AWG & 16 AWG wire is good for most applications where distance is moderate between speakers and amplifiers or receivers. Receivers are amplifiers containing an AM-FM tuner on the same chassis. Integrated amplifiers contain a Preamplifier for turntables that use magnetic phonograph cartridges in the tonearm and a separate power amplifier on the same chassis then relying on a separate AM-FM tuner connected to it for radio broadcasts. Receivers combine all three units together on one chassis. Technically separating them out into separate units is theoretically better as each unit can concentrate on what it was designed to do. I prefer separate integrated amplifier and AM-FM tuner combos over one unit receivers. But practically speaking there is no degradation or detectable difference in sound quality. Both arraangements work well. ... show more

  • I like it!
Size: 100 Feet Color: Blue Number of Items: 1
This is really nice wire. The insulation is soft and the wire is flexible. It's easy to strip and work with. I like that the insulation is two different colors because it makes installation a lot easier. I had banana plugs on and ready to be hooked up in a matter of minutes. It seems to be copper washed aluminum. Honestly, I think most people that are buying 14g speaker wire will probably never hear the difference between pure copper and copper washed. I have yet to hear noise from copper washed that was properly installed and used appropriately. I will say that for as nice as this wire is for my intended purpose (home audio in my living room), the insulation is soft and almost gummy feeling. because it strips so easily I think that its possible to damage it if pulling across metal like wiring up a car. I would have no issues using it but I would use caution and not pull at it like you are hauling up a bucket of concrete. I feel that I got a good deal for what the wire is and the price point. I would buy it again without hesitation and recommend it to people looking for inexpensive but good quality wire. ... show more

  • If you are looking for a simple quality speaker cable upgrade kit - this fits the bill perfectly. If you are looking for a simple quality speaker cable upgrade kit - this fits the bill perfectly.

I recently upgraded my A/V system to a 7.2 surround system. I quickly realized that the new system had 3 times as many banana plugs than I had on the old system. As I looked at how much cable I would need to run for the additional rear speakers, I discovered that one of my current surround speakers had a much smaller gauge wire than the reset of them. So to finish this project I decided that I would need several additional plugs and a moderate amount of cable as well. I was assuming that I would have to get all of this separately plus I really wanted to get gold plated plugs if they weren't too expensive. I found this kit almost immediately and it had exactly what I needed: a 100' roll of 14 gauge cable, 12 top quality gold plugs - enough to retire the old Radio Shank cheap plastic jacket plugs, The best thing was that the price was at least half of what I had found in a store. I placed my order and was notified within an hour that my kit was on it's way and in fact it arrived a day sooner than it was supposed to... that's awesome service guys!. Everything was exactly as advertised and it made the whole upgrade project so quick, easy, and cost affective. ... show more

  • Very flexible, easy to strip the ends.
Size: 100 Feet Color: Blue Number of Items: 1
I used this for running my stereo to my speakers in my living room. I had thinner less flexible wire before, and my dog snapped it off trying to retrieve a ball under the TV stand. This wire was heavier gauge (better sound) and so nice and flexible to run around the wall edges. That rubberized coating was really appreciated when I needed to strip it back to get to the wire to connect everything up. I will never use that thin speaker wire again. ... show more

  • Great wire for super low hard earned dollars!
Size: 100 Feet Color: Blue Number of Items: 1
I was reluctant to order this wire due to a few of the 1 star reviews. Well...they are wrong. The complaint on the "tiny wire shards dropping all over" did not happen to me with over 20 connections, use the appropriate sharp stripping tool in the 12 gauge slot and it will not happen. Twisting the unshielded wire after stripping the jacket multiple times over and over again this did not happen. It was actually easier to work with than some of the pure copper speaker wire of 16 gauge and i had with better results with this wire. Arrived as posted in the pictures, spool ends in tact and wire securely wrapped on the spool. I was able to make such good progress on my project, I used up my first spool in one evening as I installed a 9.1 surround system in my shop. I was so impressed, I ordered another spool the very next day just to have on hand. For just over 15 bucks for 100 ft, I got it with a car stereo install in the future. I am going to try and see if this comes in 10 gauge for amp speaker wires and will order it as well if they do! ... show more
