I bought this after another model I bought did not work. Programming is sort of strange. According to the instructions you have to start out with code 1111 for door one, 2222 for 2 and 3333 for door 3. You then have to change the code to a secure code. Why cant you just start out programming it to the secure code? Another nit, It would have been nice if the buttons had letters on them like a telephone keypad. Then you could use an easy to remember word like 'CORN' or 'HECK' rather than a harder to remember 4 digit sequence. That said, it works well and the price is better than you can get from a big box store, so I am pretty happy with the product. ... show more

I bought this to replace an old garage door remote that had to be pressed in a certain pattern, with 3 fingers in a specific position as if doing a Vulcan mind-meld, while singing the Hokey Pokey song. It was ridiculous! I had a slightly difficult time with programming it because *I* kept missing a step. It's clearly stated, but it wasn't a logical step in my brain, so I missed it the first three or four times. Once I paid attention, it was easy to program. Now, the remote comes in with the car keys if my partner has to park in the complex' parking lot. **Safety tip: never leave your remote in your car when parked near your home. If someone breaks into your car, the perpetrator can use your registration to find your address and let themselves in. I suppose that can happen anywhere if your car is broken into. Think I'll be ordering a second one for me, too. Definitely happy with this purchase! ... show more

The remote works fine, and it was easy to set up. Unfortunately, I purchased three of these and the biggest problem is that because there is no protection around the buttons, they are very sensitive because they are very easy to hit if they’re in a purse or backpack. The remote does what it’s asked to do, but a lot of the other remote controls, have like a small lip around the buttons to protect from such mishaps. The good news, is the JP-Max keypad was easy to program and works with Liftmaster RED button... and it comes with a 9V battery. The bad news is the 9V battery was "dead", read 0.5V on the multi meter. I'll give it a try and if the battery doesn't last a year, I'll chuck the thing.

I ordered these because I was tired of having to swap the old garage door remote between vehicles all the time. Now I have one of these on my keys and so does the spouse. I was a little concerned about the buttons and it being in a pocket or purse constantly, I didn't even realize it had a built in slidable cover. Programming is a bit confusing for the remote it's self. The instructions tell you how to get it into programming mode, but even though I could get it to acknowledge the remote during programming, the instructions fail to tell you that once the amber light flashes and you hear the 2 clicks on the garage unit, you have to press a different button to close the programming mode on the remote.
