Not as impressed as I thought I’d be. The arms drive me crazy constantly flopping around and moving around and such. Noisy too. The lock for the incline release is hard to release so it causes me to struggle with it. However, It is comfortable..but frustrating to use. Other chairs are comfortable too.. Dropping more than 1k on a office chair, one would expect no frustrations. Good job X chair marketing...you got me. ... show more

After about a year of normal use the metal support of the left arm broke! I have never seen this happen with a chair. It should never have happened with a 1200 dollar chair! Also, the arm rests do not stay when placed in position. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRICEY CHAIR. Update, after just about three years both the back support and the other, right arm broke as well. The chair is beautiful, elegant and goes well with home decor. It doesn't look too officey. It was very hard for me to assemble by myself as it involved screwing in bolts that did not go in easily, while lying on my back trying to pull down on the back of the chair to get it properly seated. If I were strong enough to lift the whole chair by myself I could have done it upside down and then flipped it over when done, but this chair is very heavy. I recommend having two people available to assemble this. Once assembled, the chair adjustment instructions are WRONG. To adjust the back, you do not bring it to the top and let it slide down notch by notch. What you need to do is bring it to the top, let it slide all the way down, and then lift it up notch by notch. Most importantly, the back does not go up high enough for the lumbar support to reach the small of my back. I'm 5'5" so it should not be that strange to expect it to fit me. Instead it is too low, so I have no back support and will probably need to use a pillow to make this work. If it just went up about 3 more inches it would probably work. I am so disappointed. once you set your adjustments, it has no lock setting so the arms will move on the slightest leanings adding to the frustration of the chair and base leaning to one side

I have curvature of the spine and the attendant backaches, so I needed a really good chair that provides lumbar support. This "X Chair" is the best one I have found so far. The quality of construction, fit and finish are superb. It is ridiculously easy to assemble, so don't be worried about that. The chair provides very nice back and lumbar support. It is somewhat tricky to get the chair adjusted in the way that is best for you; it took me some trial and error. But the outcome has been great. My back is noticeably better and I like this chair so much that I bought a second one for my home office. By the way the chair looks terrific in both black or the Cognac leather. Both are beautiful. I'm sad to say I'm not very happy with this chair. I'd been researching chairs and reading reviews for a while. I decided on this chair because it was said to be the best chair for people with back problems. The icing on the cake was that orange is my favorite color. I know good chairs are pricey, and I was finally willing to shell out some money for a great chair. I ordered it. It even arrived a week early! I was so excited. The assembly was very straight forward, and I put it together in no time. I sat on it. I said, "ahhhhhhh" as I fell backward and let the SciFloat Infinite Recline do it's thing. That part was really great. I followed several tutorials to get the chair adjusted to suit my comfort, but it still doesn't feel quite right. I should be able to feel the lumbar support jutting into my lower back, but none of the preset positions do that. My particular pain point IS my low back, and this was most of the reason I wanted this chair. The description said it would move with me. It does, but I'm not getting the support that I need. The worst part about this chair is that it is NOT comfortable to sit in all day. I wish I would have known that there was a version of this chair on the manufacturer's website that came with extra padding. I definitely would have paid an extra $100 for that. If the chair were more comfortable, I might be able to overlook the lumbar issue. For as much as this chair costs, I should be happier. Sadly, I regret this. ... show more

I was so hopeful for this chair to be outstanding, but it really wasn't worth all the hype to me. I've been using the chair going on two weeks and I'm trying really hard to like it, but it's just not that comfortable for me. I'm sure it's just me, but the chair bottom cuts off the circulation in my thighs. The lumbar area doesn't really fit with my back. No matter how hard I adjust all the areas that can be adjusted, I find that I lean back too far which I don't like at all. I like to sit tall and straight and this chair doesn't do that...at least it doesn't for me. If it wasn't such an issue to pack up this chair and send it back, I would. I'm just not a fan, especially for the outlandish price I paid for this X4 Leather Executive Chair. Plus, I thought I purchased a black chair and instead I received a brown one. ... show more
