One thing I learned was how to deal with an obstacle like a ceiling fan when your kid wants one of these and the fan is not far enough away. I used some pink thread and made a loop about 18 inches in diameter and draped it over the net just low enough to clear the fan and the rest of the net below spread out perfectly. For the lights, there is a decent amount of lead wire but there us only a USB end so you need a power block of your own or like the kid has, built in USB ports in the headboard. I did try to keep the lights at least one foot above the bed too and the net opening on the one side instead of at the foot of the bed. It looks very princess-like even during the day without lights.

Pros - Mutiple pastel colors, princess feeling, flowy tulle fabric - Warm small "fairy lights" add to cozy feeling - Easy installation - Lightweight fabric - Long and would fit multiple bed sizes Cons - Lights require batteries instead of being plug in - Arrives wrinkled and time consuming to dewrinkle - Safety concern, very flammable fabric DO NOT have around flame or heat sources - Not as thick as in listing pictures Hoping that hosing it off in the shower will be a way to clean it. Good quality and great for creating a magical bedroom space for girls or girls at heart!

I’m a bit disappointed with this canopy. I didn’t receive any lights, even though they’re shown in the product pictures. That’s frustrating because I bought another purple canopy with lights for my younger daughter, and now my two daughters, who share a room, won’t have matching features. I always try to keep their things similar to avoid arguments, so this feels like a letdown. That being said, the canopy itself is very cute. The colors remind me of unicorns, which my 5-year-old loves, and I think she’ll really enjoy it once it’s set up. The fabric is thin but has a nice, whimsical look that will definitely add a magical touch to her room. I haven’t hung it up yet because I can’t reach the ceiling—I’ll have to wait for my husband to help. I plan to use the sticky tape option to attach it, though I’m a little nervous about how well it will hold on our popcorn ceiling. Overall, while it’s a pretty design and a fun surprise for my daughter when she gets home from her visit to Nonna’s, I wish it had come with the lights as advertised.
