Just recently moved to a neighborhood with people trying to break into vehicles and houses. So this product was a necessity. As long as you buy the plug and play mounting adapter with power cord plate that wyze offers along with this, its nearly plug and play installation. Simply twist wires together with the plate that's sold separetely, mount to wall, screw into surface, then plug in. Installation was very simple, and easy. Image clarity is amazing, both day and night. Same as the doorbell camera of theirs I bought. Battery life isn't concern due to the ability to plug into 3 prong outlet with the kit they sell separate. Light is bright enough to illuminate the Marianas trench. Lots of customization to setup the range you want detection in, how bright light is, alarms or silent, etc. App is decent. Also can use sd storage for local storing video recorded by device instead of subscription if you'd prefer. ... show more

  • Has a hard Time Keeping Connected to the Internet via WiFi

Additional update. I contacted Wyze customer support because the camera totally stopped working. It turns out that my camera had some technical issues all along, so they sent me a new one under my warranty. Since I re-installed it over a month ago, it has been working flawlessly. I wanted to update my review rating, as the code 15 connection problem seemed to be caused by either the APP itself or my Apple phone. After reloading the APP and shutting down my phone and restarting it the camera came back online, without unplugging the camera. Still learning the APP and seems to be going well. Install was easy and worked nice for a day. Now having issues with maintaining connectivity with the camera using the phone APP. Keep getting the error code 15. I can tell my WiFi is working, as other devices are communicating. The first suggested step in fixing it is to unplug it. However, this is in my second home, so unplugging it is not that easy. I will now have to drive an hour to unplug it, then install an WiFi switch so I can "unplug it" remotely, which seems ridiculous to have to do. What if I was in Europe. I searched the internet for the code 15 and it seems it happens often. Now the camera is useless, it shouldn't be that difficult to reset. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware! This doesn't work!!!

After buying it, I now see reviews of folks having the same issue as us -- the cameras constantly go offline and we have to physically reboot the wifi router, cable modem, and power cycle the switches to the 2 cameras in order for it to maybe go back on. (This doesn't always work either). These cameras only worked for us for 1 week. Let me tell you why this is a really big problem: 1). You have to be home to try to get it back online... when you are on vacation, or say someone who spends 1/2 the year in Florida & 1/2 up north.... if you are away from home, the camera goes offline and leaves you unprotected and you won't be able to do anything about it. We bought the camera because of packages theft from in front of our garage, and mailbox theft, so having it offline is unacceptable. 2). The company does nothing about it. I wasted an entire 2 days on live chat -- I don't have time for that, and I will never get that time back. I don't get paid when I don't work. Even more of a problem, when I first contacted them about both our cameras being offline, they said it was because they had just updated & made changes, and we'd have to reboot the wifi router, cable modem, and cycle power on & off "only once" because of the firmware change. But my husband and I work from home. My husband's job is very stressful, and he was in the middle of a live issue (as he usually is)... we can't just power off wifi in the middle of a work day. I asked how often they would give updates and we'd have to reboot. I was told "very rarely". Well, after we rebooted everything, the cameras only worked for ONE HOUR before going offline again. So the issue wasn't resolved. And they continue to go offline. After sending them screenshots and logs and basically being a slave beta tester for them, the last email I got from the company said, and I quote, "My team doesn't have a way to interpret or access the logs and we have no control over this. What I can do is I will be submitting your feedback to the team. We won't likely hear from them but they usually solve the issue by including the fix through firmware and app updates." Any careful reader will notice: 1). the offline issue started from a firmware update in the first place. 2). Firmware updates require the reboot of router and power cycling -- so if you are away from your home for any amount of time, or if you work from home, you are screwed. 3). There's no indication that the company will ever fix this, as there was another review complaining about this issue from 3 months ago! There are other complaint reviews from 7 months ago. A security camera that is constantly offline is a complete fail, and the company does not care, does not value your time or money, and doesn't resolve the issue. 4). We are going to remove the cameras and return -- barely making the return window because we had to have Geek Squad install them for us and that took forever. We paid $400 to have these cameras installed, and now, we are going to be left without the yard lights we started with, and out $400. No accountability from the company for the money we lost, the time we lost, and the fact that we are not protected from theft all this time. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!! ... show more
