Just recently moved to a neighborhood with people trying to break into vehicles and houses. So this product was a necessity. As long as you buy the plug and play mounting adapter with power cord plate that wyze offers along with this, its nearly plug and play installation. Simply twist wires together with the plate that's sold separetely, mount to wall, screw into surface, then plug in. Installation was very simple, and easy. Image clarity is amazing, both day and night. Same as the doorbell camera of theirs I bought. Battery life isn't concern due to the ability to plug into 3 prong outlet with the kit they sell separate. Light is bright enough to illuminate the Marianas trench. Lots of customization to setup the range you want detection in, how bright light is, alarms or silent, etc. App is decent. WYZE CAMERAS ARE THE BEST! This thing is so great, the notifications are awesome, the video quality is incredible. The auto zooming and focusing is awesome. I like that I am able to control the ambiance lights and once motion is detected it goes to get out now bright. Great product Great value!

I like this floodlight very much. The video quality is excellent! It was easy to install, and the motion sensor and zone setting are great! The only thing I don't care for is having to leave the light switch on all the time, but I am thinking about adding a wifi plug-in, so I can activate the switch remotely.     • Buyer Beware! This doesn't work!!!

After buying it, I now see reviews of folks having the same issue as us -- the cameras constantly go offline and we have to physically reboot the wifi router, cable modem, and power cycle the switches to the 2 cameras in order for it to maybe go back on. (This doesn't always work either). These cameras only worked for us for 1 week. Let me tell you why this is a really big problem: 1). You have to be home to try to get it back online... when you are on vacation, or say someone who spends 1/2 the year in Florida & 1/2 up north.... if you are away from home, the camera goes offline and leaves you unprotected and you won't be able to do anything about it. We bought the camera because of packages theft from in front of our garage, and mailbox theft, so having it offline is unacceptable. 2). The company does nothing about it. I wasted an entire 2 days on live chat -- I don't have time for that, and I will never get that time back. I don't get paid when I don't work. Even more of a problem, when I first contacted them about both our cameras being offline, they said it was because they had just updated & made changes, and we'd have to reboot the wifi router, cable modem, and cycle power on & off "only once" because of the firmware change. But my husband and I work from home. My husband's job is very stressful, and he was in the middle of a live issue (as he usually is)... we can't just power off wifi in the middle of a work day. I asked how often they would give updates and we'd have to reboot. I was told "very rarely". Well, after we rebooted everything, the cameras only worked for ONE HOUR before going offline again. So the issue wasn't resolved. And they continue to go offline. After sending them screenshots and logs and basically being a slave beta tester for them, the last email I got from the company said, and I quote, "My team doesn't have a way to interpret or access the logs and we have no control over this. What I can do is I will be submitting your feedback to the team. We won't likely hear from them but they usually solve the issue by including the fix through firmware and app updates." Any careful reader will notice: 1). the offline issue started from a firmware update in the first place. 2). Firmware updates require the reboot of router and power cycling -- so if you are away from your home for any amount of time, or if you work from home, you are screwed. 3). There's no indication that the company will ever fix this, as there was another review complaining about this issue from 3 months ago! There are other complaint reviews from 7 months ago. A security camera that is constantly offline is a complete fail, and the company does not care, does not value your time or money, and doesn't resolve the issue. 4). We are going to remove the cameras and return -- barely making the return window because we had to have Geek Squad install them for us and that took forever. We paid $400 to have these cameras installed, and now, we are going to be left without the yard lights we started with, and out $400. No accountability from the company for the money we lost, the time we lost, and the fact that we are not protected from theft all this time. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!! ... show more

Excellent 180 degree view which is better than any outdoor cam on the market at the moment without mechanical pan and tilt involved. Positives: Great view Excellent quality video High Resolution Low cost subscription AI alerts and recording events for autos, people, pets and packages Desktop web portal (most brands do not have this) No connection issues with either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi Alert, can play tone or say "Hello, You are being recorded" every 10, 30, 60 seconds when a person is detected. Wired to outlet, no batteries to charge or change Floodlight highly configurable, can be left on, dimmed/brightened, or auto on as motion/events are detected Floodlight can be set to time out after detection event is over (15 seconds after car passes for example) Floodlights (3 panels of lights) and camera are all individually adjustable up/down/sideways Night vision (in Black and White) when lights are off is excellent quality. Negatives: Sound, 2 way talk is unusable due to noise/feedback App is confusing, multiple sub-menus and options, could be better organized IMO Motion detection (as opposed to AI) alerts and recording is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough, unusable Desktop portal does not have controls or ability to change settings (only app), limited to viewing only Recorded events are cut short or start too late. Entire events are not recorded. Average is 10 to 12 seconds. The sound quality is terrible. The person outside can hear their own voice echoed after they speak, the person insides voice reverberates over and over resulting in a screeching feedback loop. They ONLY way I have found to use this feature is to isolate the microphone from the speaker on the phone inside. That means using a wireless earbud to speak. By the time you would find your earbuds, get them connected to bluetooth, turn on cam mic in app, the person knocking or delivery driver would be gone. Otherwise, there is no feeback/noise/microphone cancellation. Mic gets fed into the speaker and vice versa and becomes a reverberating screeching mess. So I would consider that when deciding if this camera is worth the money as one of the main selling features is not usable unless using a headset or earbuds with microphone to isolate the speaker from the microphone on the phone inside. The web portal is a great feature to have in my use case. It works well and I can see the camera on the desktop in full screen. You cannot make adjustments to the cam from the web portal. You can only view event recordings and view the camera in live view. I find the recordings are kept short, in some cases broken up in 2 - 6 short segments. The longest recording was 2 minutes even though we were outside in front of the camera moving around for much longer than that. In other words, when using AI event detection (people, packages, pets or vehicle detection) it does not record the whole event, just partial and stops recording before the event is up. If you set the camera to record any time there is motion, you can modify the detection zone by blocking out squares on a grid in your camera view. I found this buggy and almost impractical to use. Some squares are simultaneously covering areas I would and would not want constantly detecting motion (like the passing cars in the street) but that left part of my driveway not monitored as well. If i tried to block waving limbs from a tree, then that left huge swaths of the yard not detecting motion. The motion sensitivity on 100 picked up mosquitoes practically, but on 20 it would only pick up motion right near the camera for short bursts. It was impossible to find a setting between 10 and 100 that would detect motion without being too much or too little. It either did not detect much of any motion (missing important events) or it detected everything, even leaves wiggling in the wind and subsequently recording and alerting me constantly. I found using the motion detection to record events impossible to use. I set it back to AI detected events only. This means the camera records events when it detects a person, vehicle, pets, or packages using Wyze apps AI algorithms. It is not perfect. It is decent at doing this with respect to cars passing and people walking into view of the camera. It tends to not be reactive to people walking on the edges of the camera view near my car for example, but it is satisfactory. It also has not once detected any pets (several small dogs) who have run around happily in front of the camera multiple times undetected by AI. Overall, I am happy with the wide 180 degree view, the excellent quality video resolution, the low cost subscription plan (19.99 annual for Cam Plus) and the alert that "You are being recorded" in a booming authoritative voice. The audio quality when using 2 way talk sucks and is unusable. I am not happy about that at all. If they just didn't include it or list it as a feature I'd be even happier. There is also a loud click every 5 seconds like clockwork on the sound with live view. If the app had a speak/listen feature that would be better, the mic and speaker buttons are difficult to enable/disable ( Tapping the mic icon also simultaneously enables the speaker). I feel like the company is aware of this and chose to sell it anyway without quality microphone to speaker feedback cancellation. As I said, the person outside will hear their own voice several seconds after speaking because the playback on my phone is picked up by my mic and they can hear outside on the speaker. Everything played outside on the speaker is picked up by its own mic and vice versa inside. It creates unbearable screeching noise and cascading echoes. There is no settings or mechanism to adjust the microphone sensitivity outside or the speaker volume either. I am irked by the 2 way talk being so crappy to be honest but overall the positives outweigh the negatives and it is a great security camera and floodlight.
