I live in a swampy area with few street lights and lots of crackheads/wildlife in the neighborhood. I've caught one crackhead trying to snoop around the front yard and a bunch of wild pigs too (not all at the same time) thanks to these cameras. The night vision and picture quality are excellent, I love being able to see around my house while not being home or being inside. The CAM PLUS feature is also great, I've been able to see a good amount of people/vehicles that enter my property without issue. The only cons I have for this camera is that the base system range is not 300 feet like the specs say, I tried just 200 feet without a wall and the signal was already shoddy. I have two cameras at about 40 feet away with a wall in between and the quality isn't great, the feed keeps dropping and causing the video to fragment/freeze so I bought some SD cards for them just in case. Then again, our house is concrete and rebar, so wooden houses stateside likely won't have similar issues. But it's been 8 months since I purchased these and I couldn't be happier, batteries for high traffic areas usually last 1-2 months, while low traffic areas last 3+ like the specs say. ... show more

    • Easy setup, amazing image quality, and long battery life!

I almost didn't buy this starter kit (along with an additional outdoor camera) after reading some of the negative reviews, but I already had 4 of the Wyze pan/tilt cameras and they have been awesome, so I took a chance. So far, they have performed beyond my expectations. I never would have guessed that a battery-powered camera could be active enough to react to motion, record video clips, and display live video on demand and do so while conserving power so well. I put one camera on my back patio and the other near my front door. I get a lot more traffic from my family on the patio, so it makes sense that the battery has been used more on that one. Immediately after receiving the cameras, I put them on chargers and they were fully charged within a couple of hours. After pairing them with the base station, I put them outside and started experimenting with the settings. It has now been over a week and the front door camera is at 94% battery capacity and the back patio camera is at 85% capacity. I was really worried that I'd need to charge them every week, but I'm going to run them dead and see how much I can get out of them. I'll provide an update on how many days each camera lasted on one charge, while producing many motion alerts and 15-second video clips per day. I'm extremely happy with the performance, ease of setup, and overall quality of the cameras, as well as the Android app. I just purchased the "Plus" service for all 6 of my Wyze cameras, so I can enjoy the additional detection filters for people, packages, and vehicles. These cameras make an excellent addition to any existing security system you may have, but Wyze also offers a monitored security service if desired. It is a well designed set of products and services. *UPDATE* I finally had to charge the back patio camera after a solid 3 months of use. The key to long battery life is setting up a fine-tuned detection zone. The fewer false alerts you get, the longer the batter life. My front door camera hasn't needed a charge in over 4 months. The back patio gets a lot more traffic, so it always gets tripped by the kids or pets. I paid for the "Plus" service, so I'm not sure if that's needed to get all of the fine-tuning options. ... show more

    • Not as easy as to install and get working, great customer support. Update 6/5/22

Update 6/5/22 My cameras are mostly offline. They do not stay connected and basically are worthless to me. Wish they were reliable and dependable, they are not...... I just received 3 cameras and the base yesterday. One of the first things you have to do is charge the cameras and make sure all the cameras and the base have their firmware updated to the latest revision. I immediately subscribed to the Cam+ (3 cameras, $50 for the year) It took me half a day to get all the cameras and base firmware updated, many failures "please try again". This could be because my internet stability is not always reliable. After getting all the firmware updated I still could not get the cameras/software to record motion even though I had properly applied the Cam+ licenses to each camera. I was getting frustrated because I couldn't get any event videos to record, a few snapshots but no video. After going back through and reading all the recent negative reviews I was already think about returning the cameras and looking for a better alternative, while also searching the internet for resolutions that others were posting. I also put in a ticket to Wyze on this Saturday morning. I didn't have much hope with customer support because of the reviews I was reading. Much to my surprise I received a trouble shooting email from Wyze in less than 10 minutes. It seamed to be from a live person as the response was directly tailored to my problem. I now have the 3 cameras recording video when motion is detected. For me the solution was to reboot the base by unplugging it for a few seconds. There are different settings you can apply for each individual camera that can be applied base o the location being used so I have the cameras temporarily setup outside so I can tweak the settings, then I will hard mount. for now I give this 4 stars because the difficulty in setting up without customer support. I can't really rate the night vision, motion detection or picture quality until I've had a chance to actually use the system. ... show more
