This is not my first mini kit so it's not too difficult for me. Lots of fun doing it. Nothing broken and the lights work. Instruction is quite detailed. I was missing a small part for the small stair/steps which is hidden under paper anyway. So much fun seeing this come to life. I worked at it on and off after work and more on the weekends and it took 2 weeks. The box it came in is a bit shabby but everything inside are well packed and intact.

This is an extremely detailed and intricate model/book nook kit. Lots of the components are paper (glued onto pre-cut wood parts, beads, etc.) that require an X-acto knife to remove from the templates. Instructions aren't perfect, and it is easy to miss a step. So be prepared for some re-work and a some frustrations. Overall, at this price point (<$20), it is difficult to complain, to be honest. When compared with other, pricier kits (laser cut wood that is pre-printed), this one is definitely more challenging. Not for the faint of heart or someone new to these kits. There are a few steps that I found relatively impossible to execute, and managed a work-around. Specifically, as mentioned in another review, opting to use a gold paint pen (in lieu of cutting tedious outlines of trees/buildings from foil paper glued to the template). Patience is the key to success (and I haven't finished yet). Ha! Good luck.

I really enjoyed this project. It’s my first time doing a miniature and I spent an hour or so every day on it. So relaxing. The kits comes with all the parts. I had to supply the cutter and the glues that I wanted to use. This was a lot of bang for such a great price. I would recommend it highly!

Missing Liquid Latex Bags poorly labeled Instructions vague on the placement of items Wires confusing and without batteries hard to test Wood pieces are painted on both sides so you might put the piece in backwards Most of all the straight on view is bad. I liked making this despite all the problems, the little street view was more alive then the all wooden book nooks I had seen. You got to make things with every day objects and add your own touches. I can ignore my other complaints, but... the straight on view of the street is horrible, you just have to side of the two houses because the book nook sides are so squished together, all your effort is wasted on the inside. Also they want you to put glass on the top and bottom (that are removable) but then it locks in the view even more. This could also benefit from hinges or something sturdier to hold it together. This shines more when it is placed open with the sides at an angle. You can see everything, all your hard work, and enjoy all the houses. Then you can fold it back up to store it. Also this is about the size of manga I think, so it is not as big as other book nooks. That works with the Japanese street theme so I enjoy that aspect of it.

Tbis kit is so pretty in pictures. I had just tried to accomplish a mini set from this company and didn’t realize hay you have to cut the smallest of pieces of paper for the detail! Why do you offer stickers for lining, but all wallpaper, detailed decor, ribbons, etc are about 1-2mm in size! You can’t even cut out a nice price without destroying it! Why don’t they make it out of stickers also? If you’re going to print the paper, why kit make it a sticker! It is one extra step!!! Unless you have small hands and small scissors. I really wanted to try this and I don’t have the patience, and this is a waste of time and money.

First, the directions are not very clear, it’s hard to see details of what needs to be done. I have made several book nooks so was able to figure it out but a first timer would have a tough time. Second, some of the items on the printed sheets did not come out printed, just an outline. Third problem was they wanted you to cut out very narrows outlines of some trees and buildings from a piece of gold paper, I knew it would never come out looking nice so instead used a gold marker to make the outlines, it saved hours of frustrating cutting. They should have just included a marker instead of the gold paper! I do like the blue lights used on the outside windows, it’s a nice touch and gives contrast to the inside lights.
