  • Can't be beat for the money
Update July 7, 2018: Well, I guess after 6 years of trouble-free operation, something had to go wrong. It seems like the control panel may have failed. I plug it in, bump the temperature down from 100 (I keep it as cool as I can get it in the summer). It gets through it's turn-on cycle, but then keeps turning on and off, and when it turns off, it resets the temp setting to 100 as though it is actually losing power. Not sure what I'm going to do or who I can call... Received my Lifesmart Rock Solid Simplicity spa right on schedule, so no issues there. I was a little worried about delivery, because they went out of their way to let you know that this is a "curbside" delivery only, and that all the shipping company was required to do was to get it off their truck. Turned out to be a non-issue in my case, however. Delivery company driver was very accommodating, and backed his truck through my front yard to my back gate, and then got it inside my back yard which is all I could have asked for. Heated up from 61 to 104 degrees in about 24 hours, which I thought was pretty good for a lower powered heater like this has. When they say "plug and play" they mean it...literally add water, plug it in, and you're good to go. As the title says, for this kind of money, you're not going to beat this when you factor in quality. Couple issues to be aware of: The power cable and the door to access the pump and other equipment are in the same location. That means if you're putting this thing in a corner...on a deck or whatever...that you have no choice but to have the cable exposed and in your way no matter how you position it, because you have to have access to the door where the pump is. A little more thought should have gone into this. That said, the cable and plug itself are very nice -- plug even has its own GFI built right in as an extra safety feature in case you're an idiot and plug this into a non GFI outlet. You have to attach the strap holders for the cover yourself. Not a big deal however when you get a brand new nice molded spa like this, the last thing I want to do is to drill holes into it. While I realize they don't want to attach those plastic pieces onto the shell and then ship it and have them knocked off, the simple step of pre-dilling the holes would be nice. Not only would it save you from having to do it, but it would insure they are in exactly the right place. Although my spa came with an installed ozonizer, no instructions or even any information about it was provided. I've never had one of these so I have no idea what it does, how to maintain it, whether it wears out, how to test it or anything else. This is just sloppy. This is a small spa. Pay no attention to the number of people they claim can fit into this. Two adults is fine, although you're still almost on top of each other. Four normal sized adults in this tub would be ridiculous. That said, this IS a perfect spa for one or two people That's it for now folks...I'll update this review as I discover more. Updated a month later: Loving my spa...I use it every single evening. It definitely does make a dent in your electric bill, but any spa does. I don't have enough bills to indicate what the average increase will be, but I'm guesstimating about $50 a month to keep it at 104 degrees in a fairly mild climate in the spring (richmond, va). For the price, you really can't beat this. December 2013 - Well it's now going on two years, and still working perfectly! Seriously, This thing just works and for the price, it really can't be beat. Changed my rating to 5 stars because if this isn't a 5 star purchase, nothing is. April 2015 - So, how often do you buy something like this that lasts with no issues? Now roughly four years after my purchase, and everything still works perfectly. I have replaced/repaired nothing, it just runs. I keep it at 104 all fall and winter and then let it drop to 80 in the warm spring and summer. Rinse/replace the filter once in awhile depending on load, add chemicals and you're literally set for years. April 2017 - And, two years later virtually nothing has changed. Everything is working perfectly and nothing has been replaced. The only thing beginning to wear is the keypad, but otherwise, this thing has worked like a charm. January 2018 - Well, I guess it had to happen. I put the spa into "Sb" mode for the winter which is supposed to deactivate all functions EXCEPT freeze control. Problem is, freeze control didn't kick in and now I have a fully filled spa which I could almost skate on. Hopefully it will survive what is an exceptional week of low temps in VA and thaw out enough to I can run the pump and get it back up into at least the 60's. The moral of the story is 1) if you're not going to run the spa at temp in the winter all the time, drain it and use a wet vac to suck the water out of the pipes and tubes. 2) don't rely solely on the freeze control in the unit. To be fair, it's 6 years old and has functioned perfectly until now, so I hold myself responsible if there's any damage, not them. August 2020: Still going strong! I did have to replace the control panel ($150) and I’m going to have to replace the cover soon. That said, those couple expenses after 8+ years of use and this tub still works as well as it did the day I got it. ... show more

  • Good value.
I had originally purchased a blow up hot tub, but it broke after a couple of months, so I decided to go with this one. Very easy set up and easy to care for. It dosen't have as many jets as the higher end tubs, but works for me. Four people will fit, but you won't be stretching out. So far haven't had any issues with it. ... show more

  • I love my new Hottub
The wrong color was originally sent. I contacted them and they quickly exchanged it for the correct color. It works like a charm! Absolutely beautiful!

  • Great Hot Tub love it.
I love this hot tub.. I waited a while to give a review to see how it works and to get all the bugs out of it. . We bought it Feb 2014 and here is my only complaint.. Amazon had it shipped in a truck that did not have a lift gate on it and the driver was the only guy who was there to unload it. Now that how the heck were we suppossed to get this heavy hot tub out the back of a tall 18 wheel truck without a lift gate or a lot of people. Lucky I had a truck we back up to the 18 wheeler and we pushed it onto my truck. Then we drove my truck around to my deck I just built for the hot tub. And that's all she wrote for that part. Now for the hot tub.. The hub is awesome I use it every night it's not raining. I get in right before bed and it helps my back and I sleep all night. Now I will tell you the knob that turns on the water fall was loose and leaked into the cabinet of the tub beginning but it just need to be tighten cause of the road trip. No big deal. Also the tell you it's has a 15 foot cord but it's not really true cause most of that is in the cabinet. It's more like a 11 foot cord. Something I wish I knew when I built my deck cause we use 15 foot cord specs. Again that does not effect the way to tub functions .. The multi color lights are awesome . The water fall is very cool . The jets work great . You can adjust one jet per seat for your back. I like that. My tub stays around 104 -105 degrees. Top says 104 but if you turn the jets on with the lid on for a few minutes it will kick it up to 105 so you will not loose so much heat when you kick on the bubbles cause the air cools the tub down. They say its a 3 to 4 seater,I can't see it. My wife and I sit in it and I'm not a very big guy and we displace a lot of water together. So with 3 people in the tub it would make the water over flow out the tub.. Plus if you take out the water so 3 people could get in the tub then the filter would not work. So... I'm saying it's best for 2 people. One other thing I have not seen a hung increase on my energy bill either.. Maybe 5 bucks a month .. Maybe 7.. And that was in the winter who it was cold when it was harder to run.. Now our bill did go up for the summer but I will bet thats from our A.C. Not the Hot tub. Oh there is one other thing on the inside of the tub it look has 4 chair welled out for people to sit well .. If you look down at it from the top it look like a 4 leaf clover kinda .. I think that molded plastic is wasted space. But again it does not effect the operation of the tub.. I will say this. If you are trying to pick between this tub and the oval rock solid tub.. Get the square one cause replacement tops for oval tubs are big bucks.. Square ones are easy to come by.. Just my 2 cents.. Also I would gave 5 stars if amazon had not gave bad delivery service . But that's not the tubs fault.. =) ... show more

  • Not bad for the price
We got this about a year and a half ago. Upsides are that if you get the 110v unit, it plugs right into an ordinary socket; it's run pretty well with a fair amount of people using it & it keeps in the heat. Downsides: Upkeep for a hot tub is really cumbersome, but that's not a particular problem to this one. The particular problems with this one are: the color of the inside is tanish/brownish. So even when the water is clear, it looks a little brownish. I would never get a hot tub with this inside color again, only blue or dark blue. Plus, when the water actually does get a little brown (which happens often when you have well water, because the chemicals interact adversely) then it looks really brown. Other downsides are that the circuit breaker on the plug faults when you don't use the EXACT same filter as the one it comes with. We once tried a filter that was "antimicrobial". The motor couldn't push the water through. The flow was too restricted, so the circuit breaker kept popping and I had to keep resetting it. Finally I got some new filters that were more like the original, and then it worked fine again. So all-in-all, it's really not a bad unit. But be prepared to have to tinker with any hot tub 2 to 3 times a week to maintain it, and with this one, to watch out for water color and water flow. I'd buy it again if the insider were a different color. ... show more
