Description
Depending on who you ask, winter is great (kids and snowmobilers), or it’s the worst (the rest of us). The WORX 20” – 40V Snow Thrower makes a difficult chore easier on those of us who get grumbly when we need to blow out the driveway. It’s lighter and easier to use than traditional gas blowers, yet has enough power to clear out a 20” wide path of snow with each pass, that’s 10” deep, and blow it 20 feet away. Its single-stage rotary auger is more reliable and lasts longer because it’s just one piece, and the brushless high- efficiency motor wastes less energy, which extends the life of the blower while improving performance. The chute rotates 180, and the chute deflector is easily adjustable, so you can blow snow where you’d like it to go. It comes equipped with long-lasting, bright, LED headlights, for working after dark. And the handle collapses for easy storage or transport. The grip was made to be comfortable, too, for when you’re going to be at it for a while. Works FANTASTIC!! We had 4-5 inches of wet snow drop and it cut right through it. Unfortunately, because of the experimenting and playing with it, the battery ran out half way done. The next day the temps dropped so the snow froze up. But surprisingly enough this little blower cut through the ice and snow easily. Last night we had an inch of powdery snow drop and my husband had our big driveway, sidewalks, porch, and patio done in 30 minutes including where the county plow threw 4-6 inches at the end of the stone driveway. Easy to put together. Only downside is the handle sits lower. I also would suggest buying a second set of batteries especially for heavy deep wet snow.

I live in an area that gets snow only occasionally, so I didn't want to go overboard and spend a lot of cash on something I wouldn't use much. The forecast called for a big storm, and this one was available in time for the storm and at the right price. It was delivered as promised and arrived in perfect shape, needing only the assembly of the handle and chute control, which was pretty easy to do. The tools needed are included. One issue is that the chute handle originally would not turn, so I tried manually rotating the chute which freed it up. It takes a some effort to actuate, and a little practice to make fine adjustments, but that seemed to improve with use. I don't get the feeling that it's a robust mechanism, but so far no problems. We ended up getting two snowfalls in a week, so I got to use it more than expected. The power level was decent, moving some wet heavy snow effectively. The first snow was heavy sleet and rain, and it wasn't able to move that, but I shoveled it into a long pile and it was able to pick that up, saving me some heavy work. The second snow was about 5 inches of powder which it just ate up. I have a wide main driveway along with a long circular drive. It did the main drive on one battery charge and the circular drive on another. The batteries take some time to charge. I don't have an exact time, but it was around an hour and a half to do a complete charge. A second set of batteries might be a good idea if you have a big job. A side note is that the 'On' button has sort of mushy feel that doesn't convey high quality, but it worked every time with no issues. Overall I'm very satisfied with this blower for my situation. It's not a high end product but it gets the job done. I probably would not recommend it to someone who needs to move heavy snow on a regular basis only because it doesn't seem to be very robust. That's just a feeling I get from the all-plastic construction and not because I had an issue, so keep that in mind.

I’ve been waiting about a month now for some real snow to put this little guy to the test and today we finally got some. It’s about 2” of the wet slushy stuff. The stuff that doesn’t look that bad, but it’s so heavy that your back starts aching about 10 minutes into shoveling. The snowblower worked great! I realized that since you can turn it on and off so easily (you don’t have to leave it running like a gas snowblower), it was less of a drain on the battery than I anticipated. It was surprisingly quiet and I don’t smell like exhaust! It was a little tricky to maneuver (took some effort to push in some locations), but that was more due to the snow conditions (where my car tires had compressed the slush into harder ice). I did run out of power before I finished the sidewalk, walk leading to my porch, driveway apron (with the deeper snow from the street plow), and the driveway, but it only took two scoops with a shovel to finish. I also wonder if I would have been more efficient with the battery life had I not been learning (this was my first time using the snowblower). The batteries charge super fast, so I’ve got them back in the charger and ready to go in case we get more snow tomorrow. Overall, for the price I paid, I’m very impressed with the quality of this snowblower. I would like to see how it does with deeper snow, but so far, I’d recommend it to others. P.S. I apologize for the shakiness of the video - I was trying to record with one hand and snowblow with the other and I kept ramming into that darn joint between my driveway slabs. :)

I bought this snow blower and the first snow we got after I received my new snow blower I went out to use it and was very impressed the first couple passes down and back (3-4 minutes) but then the snow blower just suddenly stopped. The battery showed green and fully charged and I was able to push the button and pull back the handle and it would restart but then it would just stop when I tried to move forward and it hit the slightest of resistance with the snow. I persisted to try to get it to work for a good 20 minutes but was unsuccessful. I tried using it again a couple weeks later after a snow fall and it worked great. However, the issues returned as I went to use it following a third snowfall. Snow accumulations were similar for all three storms. I called Worx technical support and explained the situation and came to learn from the Worx support person that the snow blower is not designed to work below 30 degrees. I should note that I stored the snow blower and batteries in my garage which is heated to 60 degrees, so they were perfectly warm to start each time I went out. The difference apparently is how quickly the unit would cool down when I went outside - it was single digits Farenheight for the 1st and 3rd storms when I had problems but in the mid 20’s when I used it following the 2nd storm where it worked. Based on my experience if the outside temperature was in the 20’s (Farenheit) it worked great; it worked for a while (maybe 5-7 minutes before it starts cutting out) if the temperature was in the low or mid-teens; if the temperature was single digits or sub-zero you won't get very far (1-3 minutes before it stops). Worxs technical/customer support was good to work with - they treated me well to resolve the issue so I do want to call that out and give them kudos as they did truly provide good "customer service" in resolving my concerns. I would be a little more critical of their teams who designed a snow blower that doesn't work when it is cold. If you live somewhere a little farther south (I live in Minnesota) where you will likely use the snow blower with temperatures in the 20's, I would say this snow blower might be for you (when the temperature was moderate, it worked great)! If, however, you live in a climate like me where you will need to use it when the temperature is in the teens, single digits Fahrenheit, or even sub-zero, you won't be happy with this machine.

Finally got to try this out this morning and was very happy with how it did. Live in central New York and have had full size , gas snowblowers that unless there's a foot of snow on the ground, are a pain to get started and use so most of the time I would just shovel. This is so lightweight and just put the batteries in and start up, no cord pulling and gas mess. It got through about 6 inches of snow and even the icy slush at the end of the driveway. Did my double driveway, my neighbors single drive, path through the grass for the mailman and paths in my backyard for my dogs before batteries needed a recharge. Works great on grass , just angle it up slightly so it doesn't dig into the ground, and a little back and forth through icy slush and no problem at all. Glad I bought it

I have used my new snow blower three times since purchase and found some things I like and some things could be better. First, it does work as expected. It is light to lift into my SUV. I use it at two locations. It is best with light powdery snow. The snow shoot is sticky at times and not easy to position as a result. The wheels are plastic and often slide over the snow rather than roll as they should. I suspect that is due to their lightness. Battery performance is what I expected and reasonable. When snow is directed out of the shoot in a forward direction the snow can be thrown further than when directed to either side. Side shoot is more likely to clog in my experience. I like the interchangeable battery system since I have some other Worx tools and therefore backup batteries.

The blower was extremely easy to assemble and use. It has a rotational spout to direct snow here you want it. It was light weight and easy to push, even on our rock driveway. We did get a rock stuck in the blades/paddles but it was easy to remove and get back to work. It has LED lights and we took advantage of that in the last snow storm. It comes with user manual, assembly guide, two batteries, and charger in addition to the tool. You need both batteries to run it. The batteries take about 3 hours to charge. We just got about 8-9 inches of snow and the battery lasted about 30 minutes each use. My only complaint is I wish they would have lasted longer. We have a double garage with driveway in the back of the house and a driveway in the front. It took two days to get through all the snow with as many times as we had to charge the batteries. (And we shoveled too!)

This is saving my back this winter! I love it! Originally when I received the product the screws were missing, but that was easily remedied. I called WORX customer service and they quickly helped me out. Power: it can power through about 8 inches of snow at most! But if it's compacted snow, then it definitely struggles and stops every once in a while. Batteries: The batteries drain pretty fast when it's super cold (negatives) and the snow layer is thick. Overall this little snowblower does what I need it to do and that is too keep my 5 car driveway clear if snow! It's pretty impressive for its size. Good job on this one WORX.
