Description

Depending on who you ask, winter is great (kids and snowmobilers), or it’s the worst (the rest of us). The WORX 20” – 40V Snow Thrower makes a difficult chore easier on those of us who get grumbly when we need to blow out the driveway. It’s lighter and easier to use than traditional gas blowers, yet has enough power to clear out a 20” wide path of snow with each pass, that’s 10” deep, and blow it 20 feet away. Its single-stage rotary auger is more reliable and lasts longer because it’s just one piece, and the brushless high- efficiency motor wastes less energy, which extends the life of the blower while improving performance. The chute rotates 180, and the chute deflector is easily adjustable, so you can blow snow where you’d like it to go. It comes equipped with long-lasting, bright, LED headlights, for working after dark. And the handle collapses for easy storage or transport. The grip was made to be comfortable, too, for when you’re going to be at it for a while. This comes with two 20V 4.0Ah batteries to give you 40V of rechargeable power, and a 4-amp Dual-Charger so you can be as ready as you’ll ever be for that next snowstorm.

  • Decent little machine
Been running snow throwers for years. Never have run a electric one. First run with it was a heavy wet snow. One that a gas powered thrower would struggle with, and not work worth a darn. This thing did half way decent. It did it, plugged the shute a couple times, but it out did my commercial grade John deere. It's light weight, the lights on it are decently bright. I'm honestly impressed. That's coming from one who hates the thought of going from gas to electric. I know the old saying you get what you pay for. But this thrower is a bang for your buck. ... show more

  • Useless Owners Manual
I haven’t tried it yet. When I do I will update the rating. The owners manual is probably the worst I’ve ever seen. It tells you nothing. There isn’t even a good picture pointing out how to use the machine. I found it amusing it describes mowing grass instead of removing snow. I have lots of equipment so I will figure things out. Without giving it a close inspection it looks nice. Time will tell how it holds up. Probably not good for a big snow amount but I have a gas operated blower for that. If you have a small driveway or a short sidewalk it will be fine. It isn’t designed for big jobs. It is relatively light so it should be easy to handle. It took me about 1.5 hours to assemble. Not difficult but I’m slow and the directions aren’t great. Need snow to see how it works. Tried it on 2” of light snow. Pros: it is light and easy to maneuver. It is very quit. It did remove the snow. Only used it for 15 minuets so I can’ comment on battery life.cons: it didn’t blow the snow very far. Barely out of the shoot . About 2 feet. It appears to be well built but only time will tell. For a light snow it does the job but over 10” - 12” you need a gas powered snow blower. Not for big jobs and deep snow. ... show more

  • Nice little snowblower - not for heavy wet snow.
I have all the Worx products imaginable and love them all! This one is very much like all the others in that used in it's wheelhouse it's every bit a 5 star, however we recently had a 5" heavy wet snowfall and it struggled a bit to get thru the snow unless I took 2/3 width swipes. The stuff the plow pushed into the driveway, forget it...way to much for this little guy to handle. My guess is that with any normal snowfall that is of the traditional light fluffy stuff, it'll do just fine. The assembly was a breeze, the chute does not direct the snow as well as a snowblower, but it's sufficient for my driveway that 25' wide by 50' as I divide it in halves no matter what snowblower I would use. I was hoping this would entirely replace my old Sears 5 HP, but I think I'll end up holding onto both and using this one whenever possible since it's so much easier to maneuver and the peace and quiet makes it worth going to 90% of the time. ... show more

  • I’m impressed!
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been waiting about a month now for some real snow to put this little guy to the test and today we finally got some. It’s about 2” of the wet slushy stuff. The stuff that doesn’t look that bad, but it’s so heavy that your back starts aching about 10 minutes into shoveling. The snowblower worked great! I realized that since you can turn it on and off so easily (you don’t have to leave it running like a gas snowblower), it was less of a drain on the battery than I anticipated. It was surprisingly quiet and I don’t smell like exhaust! It was a little tricky to maneuver (took some effort to push in some locations), but that was more due to the snow conditions (where my car tires had compressed the slush into harder ice). I did run out of power before I finished the sidewalk, walk leading to my porch, driveway apron (with the deeper snow from the street plow), and the driveway, but it only took two scoops with a shovel to finish. I also wonder if I would have been more efficient with the battery life had I not been learning (this was my first time using the snowblower). The batteries charge super fast, so I’ve got them back in the charger and ready to go in case we get more snow tomorrow. Overall, for the price I paid, I’m very impressed with the quality of this snowblower. I would like to see how it does with deeper snow, but so far, I’d recommend it to others. P.S. I apologize for the shakiness of the video - I was trying to record with one hand and snowblow with the other and I kept ramming into that darn joint between my driveway slabs. :) ... show more

  • Pretty good
So I bought this because I have a lawn mower that utilizes the same batteries. I have used it for 2 seasons in Colorado so you can imagine that I have used it a lot. Works well up to 10 inches of snow. I have done ~14 inches but I had to take smaller cuts and it required a battery change mid run. This beats doing it by hand. If you don't go for this one at least go for something so your significant other doesn't find you dead from a heart attack. ... show more
