This chainsaw has two main advantages. It has an easy-to-adjust chain. When the directions say "make sure the chain runs freely," take that as truth. Amazon sends these saws that way -- pre-installed and adjusted. However, the naysayers probably did not inspect how the chain works. Turn the cover nob counterclockwise and completely remove the cover. When that is done, it is easy to see how you pull back the runner bar to ensure the tightness and alignment to the track. This is key. Replace the cover and turn it clockwise. Before you tighten it all the way, move the chain clockwise on the runner. It moves with a little difficulty at first, but if it is on the bar correctly, it **will move freely**. Very carefully read all of the directions that describe how to do this. Secondly, this chain's battery functions are wonderful. The smaller batteries will take care of most small jobs. For those of you with chainsaw experience, you already know the importance of keeping the tool cleaned up after each use. This habit will make the tool work efficiently and well for as many years as you want to use it. 1. So -- make sure the chain is adjusted and on the bar properly (in the track). 2. This is an awesome tool that I really enjoyed using. I got it to cut down a few smaller trees in the backyard. Since I already had some other Worx tools, it was an easy choice as I could save money without purchasing the batteries. The first thing I noticed about the tool was how light-weight it was and how it felt in my hand....great. Power: It was powerful enough to go through an 8-inch diameter tree. For a battery-powered tool, this can't be beat. The safety features were an added bonus - a quick stop chain brake and an auto-tension and lubrication system. I am a fan of WORX products and I have about 10 Worx tools (including 2 10" chaisaws). This one is a dud however and the chain will not stay on for more than one or two cuts...Get a different chainsaw.

I needed this to cut fire wood... that's almost all I cook on... I wish the battery lasted a little bit longer but I cut some 12 inch seasoned oak and it went through great... I was really surprised how well it works... got a leaf blower too that takes the same battery and I'm impressed

Soon after we bought this we suffered the loss of maybe twenty trees from a severe storm. The saw was helpful for us to cut our way out of the debris.

Eats up batteries quickly. Glad I had ten batteries from other Worx products or I would have been waiting long for recharging. I went over the return time or I would have sent it back.

    • WOW! A great battery operated chainsaw
I can't believe this battery operated chain saw. It is powerful and long lasting. I use (2) 20v 4mh batteries which cut off about 15 evergreen trees and branches. Used for a couple of hours and the batteries and the saw kept on going. Chain tightening is easy. It out performs my gas and electric chainsaws. I Highly Recommend this device. ... show more
