  • Good for around the yard
Style: Battery + Charger Not Included
There's been several reviews that mention the chain coming undone, yes, that happened to me too, but only once or twice. After you learn how to tension the chain, it doesn't happen much after that. You do have to take a safety cover off the saw to access the chain and put it back into place, if you're good around tools, it's not rocket science to do. It says the saw has "auto tensioning", if mine does, it might not be working right. After a few cuts, I adjust the chain anyway just to be safe. I found that after awhile, the tension stayed constant, so maybe auto tensioning does work after all. It doesn't come with chain oil, so you have to buy that, it doesn't cost much, but if you're going to use this once in awhile anyway, a quart should last you. It's WAY lighter than the other pole saws that are basically just a small electric chainsaw mounted on a pole. The saw does NOT remove from the end of the pole like some others do. Even though it's pretty light weight, you still have to find the balance spot on the pole to keep control of it. It would've been nice if WORX built in some kind of neck strap. Now the best part, if you already have 20v WORX tools, the battery WILL fit this saw. You can buy JUST the saw and save a few bucks. I was able to make MANY cuts without changing or charging the battery ! Nice, very nice. It's NOT a pro grade pole saw, but for a little DIY tree trimming around the house, I got my moneys worth. ... show more

  • Not perfect but reasonably effective
Style: Battery + Charger Not Included
Was ready for bar oil and a battery and a job to do ... cut small branches easily and did not bounce much unless it was nearly straight up perpendicular to the ground. Not sure this can be fixed but opportunities for improvement might solve a few things for me A- the telescope pole on my saw tended to collapse a bit, shortening the reach. I may not have tightened something but I thought the cam levers would lock the extensions in place.... but gravity and vibration was stronger than the cam lock friction. B- It's pretty heavy feeling when trying to go a little higher by extending one's arms. C- due to the weight of the motor and blade assembly, it would be difficult to control if the unit had 20-30 feet of extension poles..... so it's limited to about 10-12 feet of elevation..,. including about 5 feet from ground to shoulders..., and about 5-7 feet from the saw itself..... depending on how much risk you take by moving the saw closer to perpendicular. D-When the pole is at a 30-40 degree angle ..,you really feel the weight of the saw when the branch supporting the saw is fully cut and it falls. The saw falls and the leverage of the pole exaggerates the weight. ... show more

  • Worx Pole Saw
Style: Battery + Charger Not Included
If you have trees in your yard this tool can be very handy. I used it to trim my two apple trees. Nice that the head can be positioned at different angles to help get to the inner branches. Trimming our huge magnolia tree the extension allowed me to reach branches twelve to fifteen feet high. It cut through pretty thick branches. I trimmed for a solid hour and the battery kept a charge. ... show more

  • Please do not buy this pole saw
Style: Battery + Charger Not Included
I have been trying to trim Pygmy Date palms. It's cumbersome, difficult to hold it up at the front to support the weight and turn it on at the end... The chain came off several times. I spent a lot of time reviewing the product, (days) and I'm sure I have the tension figured out...so maybe the tensioning screw is just not capable of keeping the tension tight for more than 10 seconds. As far as cutting...It will not even cut dry parts of palm trees. It did cut a few of the leaves, but not easily. The leaves aren't very wide or hard to cut. I cut some leaves that were about 3 feet off the ground and had all these problems with not cutting small branches (leaves). I bought it for cutting ones about 8-10 feet tall and I am sure there is no way this could possibly reach up that high and cut anything. After spending 2 days reading the manual, and reviewing all the parts, before operating it, I will tell you, please DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. My husband was using this saw 5 years ago. I found him laying in the yard, next to a ladder and the saw was on the ground near him. He died 5 days later of a head injury. He never spoke after I found him, so I have no way of knowing if he was on the ladder using the saw. I decided to try to figure out using the saw myself recently, and after I did so, I think that possibly he was using the saw, and that he was on a ladder trying to get the saw to work. It just doesn't work well that I can tell, so please don't buy this saw, and definitely do not use it on a ladder!! ... show more

  • Weak.
Style: Battery + Charger Not Included
This saw does a great job on dry palm trees. Or thin dry branches up to 1 inch. That's about it. In live wet branches, even thin ones, the chain gets stuck. The saw makes a characteristic squealing noise and it takes considerable effort to free the stuck chain. At the same time, the plastic makes a suspicious cracking sound, hinting at possible surrender. Another problem is that the extention plastic clamp does not hold the aluminum tube tight enough, which slides down under its own weight. Pros: - the length (about 9ft from handle to head) and light weight make this handy for small jobs in the garden. - ttractive modern design with bright accents of branded coloring. Cons: weak motor, weak clamps, thin plastic cladding, leaks oil. Would recommend exclusively to owners of WORX, who already have batteries and charger, and only for small occasional work. And frankly, I'd like to return it - I'll ask Customer Service if it can be returned slightly used after a few trimmings. It would be nice to get rid of this trinket. ... show more

  • Lighter duty, but super awesome.
Style: Battery + Charger Not Included
Extremely useful. Probably won't hold up to super hard use for very long, but for your suburban yard or whatever you'd probably be set for life(Don't use it to cut fire wood or frame your deck or anything). Battery doesn't last a super long time but plenty to make many cuts. (I only cut up to 4 inch(maybe) limbs, mostly smaller; both hard and soft woods.) ... show more
