Only 2 complaints...1) I still have to cut the grass myself and 2) its not free.... But seriously, this is one impressive little devil. In about 20 minutes-I mowed down 3 separate sections of my property, and the grass was pretty high, since my gas mower croaked, despite my every effort to clean the carb, spark plug etc. I'm not new to the game, I've had several properties over the years, many gas mowers and was a little reluctant to go down the electric road. I will never go back, not after this. it's early on, but I barely dented the charge in these lithiums (5 Amp versions came with it)-one LED light down after cutting all these areas. The deck is deep underneath-so grass doesn't get bolloxed up inside at all, its a metal deck. Quieter than the vacuum cleaners in the house, amazing. Feels substantial, nice solid handgrip, and controls are simple, easy to see and it Worx! Interesting fact not in the manual (which is barely enough to understand fortunately the mower is pretty self-explanatory at least to me)...when I started out, the motor didn't sound very powerful-as if the batteries were not charged-but it cut pretty effortlessly so it was up to the task even at lower revs. But as soon as hit some higher, thicker grass-3-5 inches tall, the motor revved up and bingo, grass was gone. A good power-saving feature. I did need to set the deck to its lowest setting, which is better because I probably have been cutting my grass too short with the gas mowers and here in PA the higher blade setting kept me off all the rocks everywhere. Just a few other comments-would I use this professionally for daily use-not sure this would take a repeated beating like some heavier duty machines gas or electric, but for my strictly home maintenance use, it sure beats the gas mower-is lighter, and the self-propelled feature works well so far. i was using a high-wheel self-propelled gas mower. I think I'd stick with that for heavier work but my yard is fairly level. lastly-the cost of lithium cells-I don't know if Worx is getting their cells from China like many now are, but all these "clone" packs that are described as "for" Worx machines, or all the other brands-right here on Amazon...it has been my experience that Chinese manufacturers are slipping us a "mickey"-using either used cells, defective cells or even smaller cells in larger casings-to pad out the size, but will have less capacity-I have 14500 "3.7V AA size cells that put out less than 1000mAh rather than the 4000-5000mAh true 18650's should be. Not hard to put these in an 18650 sleeve. maybe these Chinese cells are OK, but with the experiences I've already had with many "replacement" laptop computer batteries, I am pretty convinced this is the business model. You are not going to get a pair of 5 Amp 20V batteries for 40-50 dollars, unless I am mistaken. Might be the right voltage, but I doubt if you will get the specified amperage out, and of course not much usable time out of the battery. It looks like such a good idea, but penny-wise and pound-foolish. and this is given the cheap pack doesn't downright explode or catch on fire. Its called "thermal runaway". Not what you want with lithium packs. Might as well stick a hand grenade in there. ... show more

Easy to start, no gasoline

I love not having to deal with gasoline and oil anymore. This mower came assembled. All I had to do was lift up the folded handle, put the batteries in and it was easy to start. It takes me an hour to mow but I bought two generic batteries and so needing to change batteries halfway through is not an issue. The mower does not go in reverse so it took a couple of times to get used to maneuvering it around tight areas, but it isn’t really a problem. I just have to do five more minutes of weed eating.I keep it in the lowest gear for self propelled operation and it’s enough for me. The highest gear is so fast you would have to run to keep up. II used it all summer and had trouble mowing only a couple of times . There were so many rainy days that I couldn’t mow so when I finally could, the grass was long and still a little wet. The grass shoot kept clogging and the batteries drained fast from working so hard. My neighbor’s gas mower had the same problem. Extra batteries were easy to buy. I bought an off brand with the same voltage and 5 ah. They work great. I’m very happy with this mower and would have bought it sooner if I knew how much I was going to like it. Good machine, if you already have worx batteries.

Starting the machine is easy. So far, so good. My back yard is roughly .3 acres. It had not been mowed for 2-3 weeks. The grass was also very wet. It took 4, 4ah batteries and 2, 5ah batteries to complete the first cut. It choked out twice and I had to clean all the grass out from under it a few times. This is not a problem with product but rather conditions of the yard. The front yard, which is a hill, was completed with one set of batteries while utilizing the self propelled function. The specifications for this machine are for perfect conditions. When do those occur? Without the self propelled function it is very hard to push up hill. I am satisfied with my purchase but it did cost me $200 less than the original price. Had I purchased it for $500, I may be singing a different tune. Very impressed so far

This is an impressive lawn mower. Solid, well-constructed, easy to set up and use, easy to start up, and cuts the grass evenly and nicely. While the large box used for shipping the lawn mower arrived damaged on one end, there was no damage to the lawn mower inside. This is not a lightweight mower. So be very very careful removing it from the box. I love the two batteries. The charger works easily and well. I love how easy it is to adjust the mower height and to adjust to mower arm height. You can tell that a lot of thought and good engineering went into the design of this item. I did read several comments about battery drain when using the self-propelled feature constantly. That is understanadable when you consider the weight of this mower, and having batteries power the self-propelling of it for a prolonged period of time. So, I avoided using the self-propelled on easy parts of my yard. It takes me 70 - 90 minutes to mow my entire lawn, and the batteries were still well above 60% full afterwards. I used the self-propeller for about 30 mins of that time. Battery drain will also be influenced by the height of the grass being mowed, the number of hilly areas being mowed, and the speed you set for the self-propeller. For me, the two batteries were more than adequate for my mowing needs. Always be careful when using the self- propeller. Release the self-propeller bar before making 180-degree turns, or if you plan to pull the lawnmower backwards. Also, be sure to not use the self-propeller bar while starting the lawn mower. If you do, the lawn mower will quickly pull away from you. You’ll get the hang of this lawn mower pretty quickly. I feel very comfortable using it now after mowing my lawn a couple of times. Lastly, a big thanks to Amazon, for offering me the opportunity to pay for this mower in installments. Huge help in allowing me to select this high quality mower. Hope this review is helpful. Worst Lawmower Ever

I ordered this mower during last winter. I was very excited to have a lightweight mower, battery operated. I have always used a gas mower that was heavy, but it did cut the grass nicely. I wanted to have a mower that was easier to move around the property. Well, what a mistake I made. I was not able to use it in the winter and had to wait till at least sometime in the spring. I didn't take it out of the box until it was springtime and ready to mow some grass. I had talked to neighbors that had a battery mower that were very happy with their purchase. I wish I had at least bought the brand that they had. Unfortunately I bought a WORX Nitro. When I attempted to mow the lawn, I found that the handles were far too long for the mower and when I used it, it would tip back off the ground. Not really good for mowing in the air. Also, the instructions were ridiculous...press this button and hold this bar to start, continue holding that and hold the black bar to make the mower go...really. Seems like that should be made easier or more understandable. I took me a while to get going with this mower, in fact, I sent one back because it didn't seem to work. Maybe just the craziness in getting it to move in the first place made me think it was broken. Well...it was too late to send it back so it was replaced. I FINALLY got it to work regardless of how confusing the instructions were. Then I find out that it can't complete a whole yard mow without having to recharge the battery!!! This was the most stupid and ridiculous mistake I have ever made. I should have talked to my neighbors that seem to be happier with the mower they purchased, a different brand, of course. To all of you reading this, if any, don't buy a Worx Battery Mower. Expensive and a waste of time. At least I still have my gas mower the works like a champ. ... show more

Light Duty Mower

Pros: This is my first electric mower all other mowers I've ever used were gas. I'm impressed with how lightweight it is. Easy to maneuver. Can handle very tall grass but you will pay severely in battery charge. It is also very quiet compared to a traditional mower, I'd compare it to the noise level of a household vacuum cleaner. Came fully assembled just had to unfold the handle. Fully featured from cut length to drive speed and the mulch collector bag is super convenient. Cons: Product arrived damaged. Plastic housing for the drive and start handles was cracked open. Opted to repair myself with some gorilla glue and a zip tie rather than deal with trying to ship back an 88lb bulky box. My grass was about a foot tall and my yard is around half an acre. Tall grass will drain the battery EXTREMELY quickly. It took 3 full charges to complete the first mow. I'm hoping regular mowing from now on will be able to be done in a single charge or 2 max. Takes around 8 hours to charge. Additional batteries are expensive at $90ea. (requires 2). Summary: If you just need a light duty mower for a small yard this is a fantastic product. If you have a large yard I'd pass on it unless you wanna spread your mowing over multiple days waiting for the batteries to recharge or spend a couple hundred bucks for an extra set of batteries. Has advantages over a gas mower in weight and ease of use but battery life holds it back from heavier jobs. ... show more

I am 77 and have never cut a lawn in my life! This is an amazing machine (When I get the hang of how to maneuver turns and such). Reminded me of learning to drive as a teen without swinging way into another lane to make a turn. LOL The only bad thing people complain about is the battery only has full power for about 40 minutes. At this age I don't do anything for 40 minutes in a row. That's a plus for me. I get to sit down and rest! Seriously, this is out of the box an amazing wonderful solution to my overgrown landscape. Nothing to assemble. Controls are easy to understand and simple to operate. That stuff in the back is how the whole yard looked before I started. I am VERY pleased with my purchase. ... show more

worx nitro wg753 40v power share pro really WORKS!

When my Briggs and Stratton gas mower broke, I started looking for a replacement. I decided to go electric, and since I have and love my Worx Trimmer/edger, I looked at various models, features, and reviews. I needed a self-powered model since my over 1/3 acre yard has rises, hills, etc. (and I'm 74 years old with back issues). I chose the Worx WG753, and I'm totally amazed by everything about it. I set the power to about half, used it in the self-propelled mode, using the rear clippings bag. Here's my experience: cut everything effortlessly, the clippings bag is much larger than was my gas mower's, and cut in half having to empty the clippings, the battery level only dropped one increment for the whole lawn, and the vertical storage gave my extra room in my storage shed. The only small issue, this being a rear drive mower, is that when doing a tight turn, the front wheels would lift up, causing the drive wheels to continue to move the mower forward. So, what I did, was to disengage the the wheel drive, turn the mower, and reengage the wheel drive. No big thing! The Worx WG753 is an awesome mower and is way above my expectations of what this electric mower would be capable of doing for me. Highly recommend ... show more
