It's great, so far. I got it yesterday and assembled it. The directions didn't help, but assembly was so easy I didn't need them. I'm an 87-year-old woman and have owned many weed wackers/eaters in my lifetime. None can compare with the performance of the Worx Nitro trimmer WG185. It is extremely powerful. It cut through thin and thick weeds and brush like cutting through butter. After an hour working, batteries still had plenty charge left. Because of some of the other reviews, I was worried that the bump-line system would be a problem; however, it worked perfectly. The line fed automatically to the appropriate length by bumping the trimmer head while the machine was running. Just need to make sure machine is running while bumping the head. I can't review the replacement trimmer line process, as I haven't yet needed more line. After viewing a couple videos online, though, it looks fairly simple....much easier than 99% of my previous trimmers. Thanks, Worx, you've taken the misery out of a job I've struggled with and hated in the past. a

Received the item 2 weeks ago. Used it once to trim a small rectangular yard 140ft X 25ft… pretty small and always well maintained. The machine has very little power… definitely not on par with a gas powered tool of the same style. This worx nitro only came with a minimal amount of of pre-loaded trim line. Couldn’t even finish my small yard. Shame they designed ,developed and sell such a pathetic useless tool …. It’s also heavier than you would think. It’s also not balanced well , so it’s very-NON-user friendly. Honestly the machine is the worst string trimmer. I’ve ever attempted to use. Worx is not on the quality level, that they claim to be Really the entire experience has been horrible. Though I was buying quality, as there marketing seems to represent. That is definitely not the case. I wouldn’t recommend this thing to anyone, not even my worst enemy. It’s that bad. So here is where it truly fails all expiations…. Since it ran out of line, midway through its first use. I was forced to figure out how to load fresh trim line I had to spend 2 hours researching “ how to replace trim line “…. First through Amazon product support Which was incorrect in every way….. the typed step by step instructions… didn’t work, the video link sent by Amazon was not even for this brand of string trimmer It was some random idiot… showing you how to manually advance your line by hand … instead of bumping on the ground…..absolutely useless. No help whatsoever…… So I spent another hour researching videos first on worx.com …., also useless. I then spent even more time looking up videos on YouTube. Not one of the videos worked or applied to this specific unit. So then I spent another hour attempting to Figure the process out myself. Only to discover nothing I could do would work. This machine is impossible to work with. Impossible to reload. Impossible to deal with on a-daily or weekly basis to maintain your yard. Imagine this frustration every time you use it … In the heat of summer. A complete exercise in frustration and defeat. Nothing anyone should ever have to deal with…. For a $250 dollar tool. I will be 55 this year… so I’ve been doing yard work my whole life. I’m pretty good at solving problems … But this device is built for frustration, Not successful project completion…. And definitely not in a timely manner. Worst experience ever with a purchase. This machine should be recalled, melted down And start all over again…… due too this thing being horrible. Now I’m going to have to deal with Amazon over a return of a product with lithium batteries…. Have Amazon schedule a pickup. And then wait up to 30 days for my refund, only further Complicated By the unit now being considered “used”….. only after 1/2 a use…. Even further aggravated that Amazon may not give my complete purchase as the refund amount. I unfortunately got rid of the packaging… who keeps empty boxes and packaging trash around for 2 weeks. So I’m forced to figure out return packaging, myself. That a weed eater will fit in for return shipping…. Even disassembled it bulky and awkward. So I have managed to get all this done…. A all day project . Of extraordinary frustration and complications. Lesson to be learned…Don’t buy power equipment from Amazon….. my aggravation will only be compounded. If Amazon….. shorts my refund and doesn’t provide a complete refund of my purchase price. Not excited to deal with any of this mind-numbing process. Well I’ve done my best …. Balls in Amazon hands….. also frightening Prayers please…

Power is amazing. The shaft was a bit hard to assemble. This one has a bit of a learning curve to it and documentation is poor. So build quality, function, etc. are great. Documentation and support could be better.

Yesterday I tackled a 20'x30' garden plot that had become badly overgrown with weeds. I used the Worx Nitro 40V 15" Cordless String Trimmer (WG185), and I have to say—it’s a brush cutter worth considering. The tool is surprisingly powerful, cutting through weeds and brush with ease. Honestly, it delighted me (if an 82-year-old man can say that). The trimmer includes a power storage indicator located between the two batteries. Out of the box, it showed 3 of 5 bars charged. I topped it off overnight with the included dual charger, and after an hour of cutting, the charge dropped back to 3 bars. There’s also an ECO button on top that reduces speed to save power, though I never needed it. Advancing the string by bumping the head worked flawlessly every time. Toward the end, one string broke completely, which meant removing the head. That requires pressing two tabs on the sides and pulling out the insert—a task shown clearly in a YouTube video. With my arthritic fingers, it wasn’t easy, but rethreading itself was simple: just use a single 13' strand of 0.095" string. Overall, I’m fully satisfied. For comparison, I also own the Worx GT3.0 20V cordless trimmer. It’s excellent for lawn edges and sidewalks around a suburban home, but it simply doesn’t have the muscle for heavy garden weeds or brush. One final note: for greater versatility, consider the Worx WG186. It converts into a hedge trimmer, pole saw, or edger—making it a multi-tool option.

This item arrived quickly and matches the description and **PRESS ECO BUTTON** images included in the product listing. It works well, the battery seems (to me anyway) **PRESS ECO BUTTON** to last a long time, and it makes all the right whirring and clicking sounds without the weight, noise, and pollution of a **PRESS ECO BUTTON** gas trimmer. The build quality is somewhat suspect- I added a clamp on the shaft where the two parts are joined and **PRESS ECO BUTTON** have a hard time imagining the bump-advance line mechanism lasting very long and can easily picture a bent shaft, but that is why I **PRESS ECO BUTTON** opted for a two year protection plan on this purchase. I would have given four stars based on my observation that this device works well but the **PRESS ECO BUTTON** simple fact is I cannot get past the "ECO" button operation. Specifically, I find it infuriating when products are influenced more by a marketing department **PRESS ECO BUTTON** than engineering, which leads to products that were obviously NOT EVER USED by the people who market them **PRESS ECO BUTTON** as must be the case here. The ECO button on this trimmer, which is HUGE and was obviously added because you cant sell anything today without a green leaf and **PRESS ECO BUTTON** the word "ECO" on it, is so poorly designed that I have to press it at least once every 60 seconds. When you first trigger the device, it is in not-ECO mode. Then you have to press ECO. And about 15 seconds after your "ECO" trimming stops, it defaults back to **PRESS ECO BUTTON** not-ECO again. So if you have to, lets say, walk 25 feet around a corner of a building you have the choice of running the spinner (definitely not economical) or **PRESS ECO BUTTON** repeating a three-button sequence again to start, stop, press ECO button, and then continue trimming. Its SO obnoxious. If I had to operate it more than weekly I would return it **PRESS ECO BUTTON** for sure. It should either default to ECO, or be able to select a default (like press and hold to switch the default operation mode to **PRESS ECO BUTTON** ECO) or have a rocker switch. Sadly, this button is the result of marketing-driven production and the result is a massively **PRESS ECO BUTTON** irritating experience that diminishes the entire brand in my mind, which is **PRESS ECO BUTTON** directly connected to my wallet and certainly will not lead to increased sales for **PRESS ECO BUTTON** WORX.

This is my second Worx string trimmer. Loved the first but the handle broke after many years of hard work. “Upgraded” to a new Nitro. The string drum is horrible. Releasing more string is a pain, and winding new string is not intuitive and takes a lot of time. Not happy with this purchase… I have many worx products and have been extremely happy with their quality and ease of use - this one not so much.
