Description

The Worx Nitro 40V 15" Cordless String Trimmer offers gas-like performance to support a variety of grass trimming tasks—such as removing weeds, clearing, overgrown grass, and cleaning up sidewalk, driveway, and retaining wall edges. The high-efficiency Brushless Motor 2.0 delivers 40% more power and 10% longer runtime than first-gen brushless motors, and a 10X longer life than trimmers with a standard brush motor. Use 4.0Ah Power Share PRO batteries (included with model WG185) to extend the lawn trimmer runtime even further, so you can longer without having to stop to recharge. Use the bump-feed system to advance trimmer line with a simple tap on the ground, giving you tighter control over how much line you use. When you're out of trimmer line, use the easy-load spool head to quickly reload: Simply cut new 0.095" line to the appropriate length, feed new line through the head, check that the length is equal on both sides, and twist to load. Find the right speed for your specific trimming task using the variable speed control, conveniently located on the handle for easy adjustment—simply feather the trigger to seamlessly adapt the speed. So I just moved into a new rental house with a very small yard, and been borrowing my neighbors lawn mower, well I hate asking fo it, so i bought this thing thinking "I cant afford a lawn mower, maybe I can just use this thing to do the whole yard" and It worked... I trimmed, and scalped the entire yard with this thing, and it worked great... It's 135 dollars including batteries, so don't expect to start a lawn service with this thing, but it was easy to put together, I chopped an entire front yard down, after full charge... Heres one part that might be confusing, I thought it came with 2 batteries, so you could use it, then pop in another battery, but it takes both batteries to run... But I got a full yard out of 1 cycle... So far 135 dollars, it did EXACTLY what I wanted to do, and more. and I read some horrible reviews on home depot and lowes sites for trimmers in this price range, so I think I made the right decision. ... show more

At first I thought the two batteries (20V) that came with my Worx 184 were defective. They only lasted for two charges then seemed as though I wasn't going to be able to recharge them again. The charging base had a red blinking light for both batteries which I thought indicated they were defective. I learned, however, that the red blinking light actually meant they were overheated. Fortunately, the recharging base protected them and now they are showing green. I've owned two previous Worx weed eaters, an 18V and a single 20V, both were great, lightweight and easy to handle. Fantastic when edging a lawn. I only wish the WG184 40V (2- 20V batteries) was a light on my back, but I'll live with it for the extra power, and automatic line feed. I will tell you this, buy extra batteries if you don't want to wait on them recharging! They really don't last as long as some have indicated. I have a couple of acres to keep the weeds down on, but until I get the extra batteries, I'm forced to take a break while they recharge. The weight and need for extra batteries is the only reason I didn't give this product a 5 star rating. ... show more

Batteries last long enough, have a huge yard. Strong enough for what I have to cut(tall weeds). One slight issue, the trigger has to be pushed all the way to work.

Recently I had hard time starting a brand name gas powered grass trimmer. For the second time I would have had to bring it to the dealer for another checkup. In the meantime, I am looking for a replacement and came across the Worx WG Battery operated grass trimmer and purchased it. When it arrived, I charged the batteries and used the unit and to my surprise it did a great job even in the highest weeds. I am amazed that the battery-operated unit performed as well as the gas driven unit. Don't Underestimate it! ... show more

I loved the lighter weight trimmer we got from Worx until the handle broke when I set it down one day, but we needed something more heavy duty anyway for the larger, thicker weeds we get so we went bigger/stronger/faster. I was excited when this arrived! Easy to assemble so once the batteries were fully charged I headed out. First thing I noticed was how awkward it is. I could never find a comfortable adjustment with the handle set up to be comfortable when using this for 1-2 hours at a time. The next thing I noticed was how quickly the 2 batteries drained: maybe 25 minutes? The next thing was the variable speed throttle - to slow it down you can’t just slowly release the trigger or lever, you have to release it all the way, let the things spin down completely, then restart with a lighter pull of the trigger. You can ramp up the speed easy enough from there, but not the other direction w/out coming to a full stop. Very annoying. Next is the string - breaks easy, doesn’t last long (keeps breaking)!. Replacements were easy to order but they were wound way too tight and did not auto-feed, so I’m constantly stopping to hand-pull out more string. My last complaint is the worst. 9 months into ownership the thing stops working. I thought the stop and start action were the batteries running down, but it wasn’t the batteries, the motor just stopped working, and there was no way easy, convenient way to contact Worx for a replacement through Amazon or their Amazon store. For $142 I got a trimmer that had enough power to cut most of the heavy stuff, but broke before it was even a year old and was too awkward, too heavy and just not easy to use. While we’ve been pretty happy with most of our Worx products I would not recommend this product. After 2 trimmer failures, we are now looking at other brands for cordless, battery yard help. The quality just isn’t there for sustained use, and living in the country we need work horse-type equipment. ... show more
