Description

Switch from blow to vac and mulch with just the turn of a dial. “Rake the leaves” with just this one tool in half the time it used to take you. And with the 16:1 mulch ratio, you’ll have far fewer bags to drag to the curb when you’re done. The 600 CFM – 12A Electric TRIVAC is here to make yard work so much easier. First off, all that tech is less than 10 lbs, so almost anyone can operate it with just one hand. The 2-speed control lets you blow on low for tight corners, and then crank it up to 70 mph for the open yard. 600 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) is an awful lot of air and creates a nice wide stream to get even more done in less time. And the powerful 12A electric motor frees you from the expense and hassle of gas-powered blowers to give you a cleaner and quieter experience. Let’s talk some more about that mulching function. The patented articulating design lets you flip it into vacuum and mulch mode with just one turn. You don’t need to switch out the tube, and you certainly don’t need any tools to do it. It sucks up leaves into the metal impeller and shredder blades, which chops them up into 1/16th their regular size. So you can stuff 16x more leaves and yard debris into the 1.4 bushels collection bag than you could with a regular yard vacuum or a blower or a rake. Welcome to the TRIVAC, it’s the better way to go “rake the leaves”.

  • A leaf-eating beast
I bought this for picking up leaves. I haven't used this as a blower other than a quick run, and it blows very well. As for the leaves, this thing is amazing. In use for over a year, through two seasons of multiple heavy, 80-100 year-old live oak and water oak pickup. Still running like a champ. I'm very pleased with how well it works - powerful suction, and eats a lot of leaves quickly. I paired it with the attachment that goes over garbage cans, and it's a real game changer. Using the barrel, you'll either have to rake or drag the barrel behind you, which can get heavy quickly. I don't mind the raking, yardwork serves double duty as exercise and time enjoyed outdoors for me. The metal impeller is durable, but can get jammed if you overfeed it a too-large stick (and too large for this thing is pretty darn large). Even if jammed, access is easy even for big hands. The leaves come out very nicely chopped. They've already almost completely broken down in the mulch pile since last year (that's a big deal for water oak leaves). Once you learn how hard you can push it (pretty hard) and stay within its abilities, you'll be quite happy with how fast it will pick up, saving your back. Speaking of back saving, it's nice and light, and I don't have to bend over at all (I'm 6'1"). The little extension cord plug-holder-together thingy is a nice touch. Other people say it's dusty. Yes. It's outdoor work with a high-speed air movement tool where you're picking up dust and dirt along with the leaves you're chopping up into tiny pieces. Dusty should be expected. Buy it. ... show more

  • Great tool
I like to mulch my leaves and use mulch around my yard of 2/3 acres. I have a battery powered mulcher for long distances. I have used this for two seasons heavily as I have around 50 deciduous large tree's in my yard. This mulcher produces about 1/4” pieces of leaves when dry. Wetter leaves are not mulched as well. It sucks up dry leaves within about 6” of the nozzle without effort. Approach deeper leaf piles slower as it can plug up and need to hand clear if too many leaves are collected at a time. It collects the wet leaves at the bottom of a leaf pile but doesn’t mulch as well. The mulching is visibly better than the battery mulcher I use. In 2 seasons I have used his heavily and collected close to 100 mulch bags. The bag is surviving well and is easy to separate from the motor for easy dumping. The worst thing is that you need to press on the bag to determine how full it is as the mulcher continues to suck up leaves though with less vigor. The bags become heavy and tend to cut into your neck. Consider using padding where it hangs on your neck. A full bag may weigh 20 pounds or so. ... show more

  • Wow, the DUST
This unit really sucks. That’s not a negative. It’s a vacuum and honestly performs very well. I was able to reduce 2 massive piles of leaves that would have easily been 2 full yard waste bags down to 1/3 of a bag. It’s a bit heavy after a few minutes. Not terrible but becomes a little cumbersome. It would have been better to put the shoulder strap on the blower instead of the bag. THE DUST… as soon as you start using it you, your hair, your clothes are covered and a 3 foot diameter around you is one giant cloud of dust. Be prepared to wear dedicated clothing and maybe even a mask. I’m a covered head to toe in dust and will be tasting dried leaves for the rest of the day lol. ... show more

  • Way better than trying to rake leaves in to a bag
This thing isn't perfect, but it is a huge improvement over raking leaves in to a bag like I've been doing for the last 10 years. I have 4 sizeable maple trees in my yard. And I love them, except for the 2 or so weeks that they drop leaves in my yard! In the past, it has taken somewhere around 30 of those paper lawn and leaf bags filled to the brim to pick them all up. And it would take me many hours, even with the help of my teenage offspring, to get all the leaves in to the bags. If I had to estimate, I bet it was on the order of 8 hours total labor, with two or three helpers, so somewhere around 20-25 "man" (or kid) hours to get the job done (with a blower and a rake). Probably the worst part is that my trash service will only take 8 bags a week max, so I had to spread this out over several weeks (and/or put them in front of my neighbors house). With this thing, I'll use the blower to get the leaves bunched up in piles, then I'll use the vacuum/mulcher to suck em up. The mulcher does a great job of making the leaves take up a lot less space in the lawn and leaf bag, and you don't have to compact the leaves in after every rake full you would put in there (thats what my kiddos did between leaf dumps, they sat on the bag to try and compact the leaves... SLOW). So now I can pretty much do this job solo, in a lot less time. And I only had 9 bags to take out to the end of the driveway this year instead of 30+. The only complaints I have are minor compared to the overall benefit... It seems like it sucks up leaves kinda slow, but if you compare it to how fast you can rake them in to a bag, its a lot faster. Just a perception issue I guess. The intake tube on this thing is a bit short for me (I'm 5' 10"). You can adjust the strap up and down so that it hangs higher or lower, but I wish the tube was a little longer (or adjustable). I imagine if you were over 6' or much shorter than me, you would complain about that a lot more. Weight seems fine to me. Not really any problems getting the end of the tube where I wanted. The take up bag is right sized and pretty easy to work with and dump. And its great for getting leaves out of corners (like along the fence line). All in all, I can't believe I didn't think to buy one of these 10 years ago. ... show more
