Great spreader! I’m rebuilding my lawn and garden this year after years of paying for services that didn’t deliver. I've got bare patches in the lawn and trying to spread seed without overdoing the healthy areas is difficult. I tried the old shake-out-of-the-bottle method and always ended up with clumps of seed and fertilizer or uneven coverage. This spreader completely changes that. It's easy to carry and gives smooth, consistent spreading with no guesswork. I’ve been using it for both seed and fertilizer, and the adjustable settings make it easy to get the right flow. I've used it several times without clogging or clumps. It's very easy to use. It’s portable, no cords to deal with and no need to push anything around. And the battery life is excellent - It's still running strong on a full charge after multiple uses. My grass is now green, thick, and healthy. This spreader has made lawn care easier and more effective. Great value!!

Works excellently for spreading granules. I used this to spread Spectacide Triazide. My Scott's brand was a hand crank. This WorkPro has adjustable feed size and adjustable feed rate. Also, you can pitch the spreader to control where the granules shoot. Having several acres of yard, this makes it so much easier to spot treat. It saves me from sore wrist or arm I would have. I do wish it had a battery meter fir peace of mind. The battery lasts me beyond my application. But its nice to have peace of mind with a battery meter.

I ordered this when the list price was $99 (thanks, Vine!) and I was skeptical -- when it arrived, my first thought was "no way is this worth $99." Fortunately the asking price has dropped significantly ($46.99 today) but it is still kind of an iffy proposition. Very low grade plastic, soft and easily stressed, even in the moving parts. The motor and battery are both light weight, but they actually have enough power to run for at least 100 lbs of fertilizer before recharging, maybe more. I have a little over 1 acre of cacao trees that needed fertilizer, and I thought this would be perfect. I figured I could load a couple of 50 lb bags of prilled fertilizer into my wagon, drag everything to the orchard, and reload the hopper after each couple of rows. So that is what I did. Everything worked okay at first, but near the end of the first 50 lbs, the impeller jammed when some prills got stuck between the seeding angle aperture bearing disk and the hopper base. Evidently the plastic part inside wore out enough for the disk to sag onto the impeller wheel. I was able to finish fertilizing by using one hand to hold the aperture open and out of the way. The device is still usable, but I will have to do some work on it to bring it back to full functionality. If the asking price was still $99 I would rate this 2 stars, but since they dropped the price, I'll give it a begrudging 3 stars because it works better than nothing, but it could be a whole lot better if it was made of higher quality materials. I expect I will be needing to acquire a new spreader before too long.

I like the Workpro rechargeable fertilizer spreader more than my push spreader. It has a built-in rechargeable battery that can be charged via a USB port with the provided cable or with a wall charger (not provided). This is lightweight (which allows easy use) - and the capacity is less than my push spreader (but increasing the capacity would increase the weight and make operating this difficult). I'm using this for spreading fertilizer and grass seed in my yard. The description says that it can be used for spreading salt or deicer in the winter (but I don't recommend using it for both purposes as I don't want to spread any bits of salt in my yard). There are 8 levels to select to adjust the spread pattern and it has good power. I took a star off since this product doesn't have any indicators for remaining battery power while in use (or to indicate whether fully charged or not).

I got this because I am expanding my garden and I want an easy way to spread fertilizer that doesn't involve wearing a backpack. This is a great, simple tool to do that with. I want to be able to see how much I'm getting into the soil and where it's going so a hand tool is ideal but i also want a nice distribution which this tool also helps with. I also like that it's electric and I don't need to hand crank it or anything like that. Hopefully with this my garden care will be much easier as I'm planting a bunch of stuff this year and I want to make each step as simple as possible. This also seems like it would be ideal for spreading ice melt... I would maybe get a second one for that and wouldn't recommend sharing it for both purposes. I don't know if it's safe to do but I'm guessing it isn't. It would do both jobs very well, though. I would not recommend using this for very large yards. Great for gardens and driveways though! Battery life is great for that purpose as well.

This comes in soooo handy for big plots of land when you want to spread your fertilizer. It's also multi-purpose so it can even be used for spreading feed to your chickens, you just fill it up with some corn or whatever other granular feed you use and spray it all around so all your chickens can get some. It sprays whatever you put in it around very nicely. You can also use to spread seeds if you want like grass seeds or something. Just as well, you could also use it to spread salt on your driveway or your walk path right before a snowstorm. So, you see, it's very useful for many different purposes.
