Part of the swifter was broken but still should’ve work I think. It was difficult to wind and the balls of yarn wound in weird shape and became knotted when knitting. Not functional for me so returning. It is a pretty piece and sturdy, but I am going back to the Amish horizontal swifter version I’ve used for years (finally needed to replace) for stability and better movement, and a different winder for proper shape of balls wound. ... show more

This is a wonderful yarn winding kit! I was a bit iffy about it at first because the directions were mostly photos, and not as complete as is really needed. But looking at the fully assembled winding station you can see where everything goes. The swift is pretty much all assembled and ready to go. This kit would really benefit from having written instructions with photos within them pointing to the parts and their placements, as well as how to use the items. Long ago, I worked for a yarn store, so I knew how to use a winder and swift already. Also adding instructions for trouble shooting, and tips for arranging the yarn on the swift for best and smoothest operation would help a lot of people, too! The winder and swift are beautifully made, very durable so far. I only took off one star because of incomplete instructions for putting them together, and also for how to use and trouble shoot. ... show more
