This has been great for winding yarn! I have even wound some pretty sizeable skeins of yarn without an issue. You do have to guide it a bit to make sure it doesn't get caught up, but that's not a problem. I love how it looks when it's done. It's so much better than the tangled mess that yarn tend to be if you just leave it. Great little gadget! If you knit or crochet you should invest in this!

I bought this for my kids thinking maybe they’d stop leaving knotted wads of yarn everywhere, and my 12-year-old has become obsessed with making perfect yarn balls and won’t stop. We now have no knotted yarn wads and approximately 2000 perfect yarn balls. So thank you, I guess? (But how do I get her to stop?)

This is an interesting design — useful in the end. Designed to be at an inflection point between lower cost of manufacture and more utility, this company has succeeded here. The item is a bit fiddly — requiring constant attention while in use, as it is fairly easy for the yarn being wound to get caught in the gears, and can be quite a waste of time trying to untangle. That said, once past the short learning curve, it quickly - within a few minutes - can transform a ball of yarn into a most handy center pull roll of yarn. One must take care to ensure the source yarn lead is kept out of the sweep of the rotating arm, which means either mounting the spinner and placement of the source yarn opposite the intake arm, or, one must with one hand hold the yarn well above the spinner, while winding with the crank the other hand. They could have made it more robust, and it would be more expensive, and you would be paying for one of their higher end machines. This works well for what it is.

This is my new favorite thing ever. It's smaller than i was anticipating but it does the job. Other ppl complained about it not staying on the table but i just held mine in my lap and it worked fine. I'm the photos above i am using t shirt yarn that came with a kit. It indicates medium weight yarn. I'll update if anything changes but i am just over the moon for this

Maybe I was trying to wind my yarn too fast or tried to wind too much yarn into one ball. Some yarns seem to wind better than others. Some yarns, even when the yarn was in a very small ball would slip off the top of get wrapped around the bottom beneath the base the yarn sits on. I hope you have better look than I have had.

Was easy to put together and works great considering the price. It stayed attached to my table very well. You can spin it pretty fast but it can’t handle a lot of tension.

This pink plastic yarn winder is a total disappointment! The plastic feels cheap and flimsy, and the crank handle wobbled after just two uses, making it hard to wind yarn smoothly. The clamp doesn’t grip well, so it keeps slipping off my table, disrupting my work. The yarn guide is too narrow for thicker yarns, causing jams. It looks cute, but the scratches on the surface showed up fast. For the price, I expected better durability and functionality—save your money!
