Features

  • YARN WINDER and LACE CROCHET HOOKS: Size: Width is 4.72inch/12cm, height is 4.13inch/10.5cm. 8 sizes lace crochet hooks, stitch markers, stitch ring markers, plastic locking stitch markers, cable stitch holders, and yarn needles.
  • GOOD TOOL TO SAVE TIME: Ideal for winding loose yarn into immaculate, well-kept balls by simply turning the crank, which can get your knitting and crocheting supplies organized easily. The operation is simple, and the yarn ball can be made in a few minutes, saving you a lot of time.
  • ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT: This component at the bottom is used to attach the yarn winder to a table/surface. You can spin the red button left and right to make a bigger space when attached to the table.
  • FIXED YARN: This cylinder at the top has 2 indents on each side to attach the end of your yarn, once you have it through that metal circle on the side. You'll want to put that yarn end through each indent, leaving a small yarn tail.
  • A tip when winding, hold the yarn near your skein/hank, etc. If you don't you will end up with a loose yarn cake. It won't hold its shape. You don't want to leave a long yarn tail, it could get caught in the bottom part that spins.

  • Fantastic gadget!
Size: 53 PCS
I am recently physically disabled, and this year for Christmas I decided to treat myself to a few gadgets that make my favorite hobbies (spinning and crocheting yarn) easier. On that list was this ball winder. I was a bit concerned by some of the negative reviews, but was quickly won over by this neat little gadget. I wanted to quickly address some of the concerns I saw on here: -the box says “wool winder” •in some countries yarn is referred to as “wool” -the spool fills up too quickly and tangles the gears •I have some cognitive issues and get super distracted way too easily. Even I managed to pay attention for the brief time it takes to wind one of these cakes up. Additionally, the size seems to be on par with all the other ball winders I’ve seen in shops and at friends houses. I can’t imagine needing one bigger. -the clamp is too small •I have clamped mine to both a 1 1/4” thick bookshelf, and to a 1/2” thick lap desk, and found it did equally well with both. My one complaint is that the yarn guide doesn’t stay in the locked position very well. However I found that if you change the angle the yarn is fed into it at, it stays just fine. If you are on the fence about getting one of these, I highly recommend giving it a try! ... show more

  • Great little yarn winder for the price
Size: 53 PCS
This little device works perfectly for me. I have made over 60 yarn cakes with it. I have used it with fingerling to bulky. It seems that for worsted yarn each cake will be about 250 yards. I did find that you can’t just put the yarn on and wind. You need to hold the yarn in one hand to guide and adjust tension and you wind at a medium speed. I noticed that more expensive ones have two tension bars. I found some 60 year old wool yarn in my Grandmother’s attic and i had to separate it and wind, separate and wind because the yarn was stuck together. I now have perfect yarn cakes that make it easy to crochet the yarn. ... show more

  • Better than expected!
Size: 53 PCS
I have to be honest - I did not think this would work; however, I am pleasantly surprised! My daughter made more than 35 yarn balls (she calls them cakes) in less than an hour! They are very neat and fit in her yarn bin beautifully. Her only complaint is the hook that holds up the yard does not lock. This causes the hook to fall over. She has to stop the process and reset the hook. She said it's not a big issue. She also said the instructions were not very helpful, but she just figured out how to use the winder herself. Overall, she is ecstatic with this purchase. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Size: 53 PCS
I'm not going to say the product isn't as described, because it is, the construction and ease of use is just incredibly sub-par. First, the table clamp isn't nearly large enough for most tables I know of. It won't fit on my ikea tabletop. Second, the standing wire falls multiple times within one skein, it's not a huge deal but I have to backtrack every time. Third, all of it feels cheap (but it does* work). Fourth, I just didn't realize how little yarn it would hold. Not a single type of yarn that I use (4, 5, or 6 weight) comes in a skein that would be able to be wound in one go. You either have to take it off the wind and wrap the remaining yarn yourself, or cut the yarn and make separate skeins (resulting in knotting in your project). Overall I will return this, I'm looking into large capacity winders right now and while they're almost twice the price, I'm already convinced of their worth because when it comes down to it, yarn cakes are soo much easier to work with! ... show more

  • Make yarn cakes in no time flat. Easy to use saves so much time
Size: 53 PCS
Initially, I purchased this yarn baller to replace a previous one that had let me down. The old baller would lurch every so often and just couldn't get the job done. It also had a horizontal alignment, which meant that it had to use its metal arm that waved back and forth to move the yarn in a pattern to have it create the cake, which seemed to only add complexity to the balling process. As hard as I tried, I was never able to get past 15 turns without having to start over due to the yarn skipping off the main ball either on the top or bottom. After doing some research online, it became clear that many experienced home weavers used a different style of baller then the one I had. What I noticed them using was a vertical style that had a stationary pole for feeding the yarn onto the center pole which moved in an oval pattern. I was skeptical at first, but it seemed like the best option based on other weavers' opinions, so I decided to give it a try. To my surprise and relief, the baller works like a charm. After setting it up cautiously, I began cranking slowly and soon surpassed the 15 turn mark with ease. I gradually increased my speed, and the baller kept up no problem, quickly balling up 190 yards of yarn. Keep in mind that you need to keep an even tension as it creates the cake. This is an absolute must-have for anyone looking to make yarn cakes with ease. I was so impressed with my purchase that I was eager to return the previous model I got from the hobby store. As a bonus, the product came with stitch markers, needles, and row markers. Although I already had some of these, I used the stitch markers to hold down my yarn ball's tail ends, making my process even more manageable. ... show more

  • Fantastic value!
Size: 53 PCS
The media could not be loaded. As others have mentioned, it's cheaply made with plastic parts, but it's also less than $20, so 🤷🏾♀️. It is what it is. That being said, it's fantastic!! I made several cakes, including a really large one, using a 16oz skein that I wound just to see if the winder could handle it. I was able to use the machine for about 90% of the skein until it got to the edge, at which point I finished it off by hand. I am impressed! I don't really expect this machine to last very long, as it is fairly flimsy, but this is my first winder and it was somewhat of an impulse buy so when it breaks, I'll probably spend a little more for one with a better build, but this was definitely a good buy. I suggest holding the yarn strand to give it a little tension as it winds. The cakes turned out much neater and I didn't have any more issues once I started doing that. ... show more
