This yarn winder has a lot to love! I really appreciate the speed control, being able to subtle adjust it is super easy, so far I have just kept it low so I can keep an eye out for tangles, and because it cannot be secured to my desk. That is my only real complaint, the screw that bolts the holder to a desk is covered in thick plastic at the bottom and I cannot screw it all the way up, thankfully it doesn't really seem to vibrate or move when on the lowest speed, so mostly that is fine, just a bit annoying that I am limited because of a plastic error or having a desk with too thin a top. So far I have just tried this winder with small skeins, since that is what I have, I just recently got into weaving and do not have a monstrous yarn collection. Yet. But I already find it annoying to wind things by hand, this tool lets me keep my hands free to do something else while it winds the yarn into a nice manageable ball. It works really well and I have not run into any problems using it. There is some noise, but it is not really all that distracting or loud, just a little whirring motor doing its thing.

I’ve been knitting for a long time, and winding yarn by hand was always one of those tasks I didn’t look forward to. I recently started using an electric yarn winder, and it’s definitely made the process a lot smoother. It was easy to set up — no tools required — and it consistently winds neat, center-pull cakes. I also like that the speed is adjustable, which makes it easier to work with different yarn weights. So far it’s worked well with everything from fine cotton to bulky wool. Works great and super easy to use! Winding yarn is so much faster now, and I love the stepless speed control. It handles big skeins with no problem and makes perfect yarn cakes. Cute design too—definitely a must-have for any yarn lover.

The media could not be loaded. This works, but there are some pros and cons to it. Pros: - Clamp is sturdy - Easy to assemble - Intuitive design - Adjustable speed - Overall beginner friendly Cons: - Little pricey - Little loud - Motor does not work when the yarn is taut (I had to guide the yarn by hand to make sure it didn’t tug) - It’s easy for the yarn to fall out of the guides, especially when it tugs. Personally, I do think this is convenient to have, but the price and the tension issue steers me away from this one.

Item arrived slower than usual, but I wasn't in a hurry. It was packaged well, undamaged, and included everything needed. This thing is AWESOME! I can rarely find the center-pull strand in any skein, so I prefer cakes, anyway. It was simple to assemble, even without looking at the included instructions. I had it up and running in no time. Smooth operation! The yarn didn't catch on any of the parts abd worked into a nice little cake. Tension matters! I did have a hard time keeping the yarn in the tension spring/button, so I just held it while the spinner worked. The speed is ultra adjustable... no clicks, but a smooth dial. So very happy to have snagged this. As a crochet/knitting hound, this is great for keeping my yarn stash neat and tidy.

The media could not be loaded. In addition to my manual winder, this is a great supplement, as I can do two skeins at once while keeping an eye on this one. I love the end result; the yard is so prettily wound when done. It’s fun to watch, I feel like it’s part of a knitting or crocheting documentary. It is durable enough with few parts and therefore has great ease of use. It functions beautifully with great results.
