I love the yarn winder. It's more of a cake winder and cake has a flat top and bottom when finished. My hands are small and clumsy. This is so simple and much faster! It auto stops if yarn gets stuck and user can turn it off and back on to restart. I recomment taking good care of it to make it last longer. Use a sturdy table and don't leave it exposed to dust, etc... As with other reviews, there is an intermittent tiny squeaky sound, especially when going fast, but it doesn't bother me. Things I wish it did better: (1) utilize more of the space, it leaves diamond shaped gaps, (2) come with netting to slide around the cake and allow to pull from middle, (3) room to wide a larger skein (it almost did it all), (4) No intermittent queaky sound.

We all know I'm easily entertained, but wow! This was so cool. My first time ever using a yarn winder. I got so tired of using skeins straight from the store, never know if I should pull from the inside or out, but inevitably coming across a tangle at the most inoportune time. And it never fails, if I just "let it go" and hope it pulls itself out it only gets worse. NOW? I'll still have the tangle BUT I can take care of it before starting a project by winding my yarn into a new ball! At least I HOPE I won't have a tangle issue now. I haven't exactly used a newly wound ball, I've been to geeked on taking all of my yarn and making balls! It's so fun and fulfilling. The winder works great. It slows down if there's a lot of tension so I know to stop it and make sure there's no snags. I went right in with a chunky 5 weight and it did great. I did not put it through the spring, just through a couple of the "holders". I've not had an issue with any of my yarn and this winder. I do recommend it. It works and makes the cutest little yarn balls. And it makes me feel accomplished and organized, lol!

The media could not be loaded. Love this yarn winder! I bought 4… this one passed the test! The first photo will show you a different yarn winder I tried, the spring broke within two days.The other two I have bought just tangled the yarn while I was trying to wind, So now I tried Ychuang yarn Winder🤗 this is the best one so far I crochet daily, and wanna have my leftovers and I want to wind them up together. This is the way to do it because my hands don’t cramp and the cakes are amazing, tight and lovely. This is a very good product. Thank you.

This actually worked pretty well and made a nice ball of yarn. It’s worth the price. I would start with this one and see if you want upgrade to a more expensive one, but it did the trick for me. Not sure how long it will last, seems flimsy, but it worked. My husband assembled it because I can’t assemble anything. It was fun to use. It’s like therapy watching the ball come to life.

I was dubious when I saw the size of the box on this electric winder. I was sure that I had ordered a winder that could handle a large capacity. Assembly was easy, literally one tiny screw needed to complete. Everything else snapped into place. The winder works best on new hanks. While directions for threading the yarn are not complete it was easy to figure out the rest of the steps. Once hank was set up on the swift, threaded and the winder started moving it was pretty much hands off and I would have felt confident to leave the room in an emergency as it automatically stops if something goes wrong. Cakes turn out beautifully. While I had read that the winder didn’t create a center pull I found by making a second round into the 4 slots on the spindle and carefully removing and flipping the cake I was able to release the end to create center pull. As for the bags of scrap yarn I need to ball up, they will need to be deranged and hand wound before caking or you will be starting and stopping the machine. Since I have arthritis and fibromyalgia it is worth it over hand cranking. It creates beautiful cakes. Best investment in my yarn art hobby I’ve ever made.
