Size: Large Color: Beige
I searched high and low for a WATERPROOF trench with a detachable hood, and this is the one I chose, and I'm happy I did. I would call this a medium weight trench, perfect for travel. Lining is not detachable. It is suitable for rainy weather, unlike "fashion" trenches that aren't designed to keep one dry. I bought the beige one in both the large and XL to try both sizes. The large was a little snug in the upper sleeve, so I'm keeping the XL, and returning the L, as I like to wear bulky-knit sweaters underneath and I prefer freedom of movement. For reference, I am 5'6" and 157 lbs and usual size 12-14. The length hits me about 6" below the knee. This is a classic trench, very chic, nice fabric and well-constructed. The beige is a creamy off-white, as is the lining. I removed the buttons on the pockets, as it was a little too many buttons. This trench coat is perfect for my upcoming trip to London. I read almost all prior reviews and watched all the videos available on the product page before ordering. I love the length and general look of the trench coat, but realized it is oversized and ordered an XS instead of my regular S size. Here to report sizing down was a great choice, as the shoulders, sleeves and overall fit is excellent. What surprised me, and not so pleasantly, is the material. It's that plasticky waterproof type, with no trace or semblance to cotton. It gets quite a bit of static and was hard to steam. It literally took over 30 min and I had to fill my steamer's reservoir 3 times. So...it's a bit of work, but I think I'll keep it. I have looked forever for a trench coat the is water repellent and has a hood and reasonably priced. This coat checks all of the boxes. I am usually a L but ordered a XL so I could wear sweaters under it. You will definitely like this coat!

I have been looking for a trenchcoat for months. This was the 5th one I bought. I am a small, and I bought the small first. It was too small for me, which was a surprise since many reviews said this coat ran large. I returned it for the medium. It is a little large for me. I think the first one may have been an XS mismarked. Anyway the bigger problem is the coat is so wrinkled from shipping I could not get the creases out with steaming. I had it steamed at the cleaners for $36 (I live in NYC). So now this coat’s total cost is $100 and is a little big. But it is beautiful and way nicer than the department store coats for much more money. I am keeping it. ... show more
