I was looking forward to getting this heated perch as we’ve had some very cold mornings. I knew as soon as I took it out of the box that they wouldn’t use it. The diameter of the perch is less than my thumb! I took a picture to show it! This would be great for very young chickens but it should be advertised for that, not for adult chickens. I did set it up and tried the heat and it worked as it should. But my chickens completely ignored it whereas if I put a tree limb in their yard they hop on it immediately because it’s a diameter that is comfortable for them. This is significantly smaller than I had anticipated. It works better with baby chicks than full-grown chickens. It has some heat, but not much, and it isn't near as hot as it needs to be for keeping the flock warm. For me, it's just something they can perch on that doesn't really serve its intended purpose.
