I don't have an android stereo. Instead, I decided to try and use this device connected to an old android phone / tablet as the host. This isn't how the product advertised, but I'm happy to say it worked extremely well. The only hiccup that I had was that most phones / tablets don't support concurrent charging and OTG USB connectivity. I ended up buying a used Pixel 3a XL to plug this device into. I've more or less set up the android OS on the Pixel to emulate what you'd get out of an Android head unit permanently installed into the car. When the car is turned on, the Pixel will turn on automatically, then after it boots and connects to this adapter, it'll automatically connect to my iPhone and display the carplay UI on the Pixel. When I turn off the car, I've automated the Pixel to automatically shut down. This is a must, because otherwise this adapter will stay active and drain the battery of the Pixel. I encountered a few bugs along the way with the Autokit APK app that this pairs with, but I'm happy to say that the support staff of Carlinkit was excellent. They were very helpful in resolving my issues. I'm overall extremely satisfied with this product. I wanted to use Apple carplay but I am unable to update my OEM Hyundai Elentra 2015 to use it. So after seeing where folks used this device to get Apple carplay on a tablet I decided to try it. It works great, now I need to get a CD mount it. I tried the wired version and it worked but I was unable to chagre my iPhone while using it. I was kind of worried because many reviews said the product doesn’t work and it would not connect wirelessly or only worked for a few days. I’ve had it for over a month and it works great! My Bluetooth automatically connects or it connects quickly when I go to my Bluetooth settings. I was worried I’d have to buy a new radio but this saved me so much money. ... show more

It works well for music and navigation. Phone calls there is a delay and an echo. Also if you play video with the audio, there is also a delay. I don’t know if it’s the device or because I am using Honda Hack.

Seller sent old open return product. Came use with all the security tape and plastic remove, didn't come with any manual or booklet. Tech support was of no help. Once install it asked for a wifi password so your phone can connect to the link box. No wifi password was provided due to open product the seller sent instead of new. It already had someone phone installed to the box from the previous buyer. Stay away from chinese seller Car Tech and as describe item. ... show more
