I bought this with the full intention of never using it with a power tool. What I've done instead is use a quarter inch socket and short 3 inch ratchet on the drive part of this tool and install things by hand. One should never over tighten wire nuts on wiring and using an electric driver is a sure way to do that. If one wants to do a fast slap dash job and make a twisted mess that will be difficult to take apart if needed, fine. But I've actually found old wire nuts inside a couple of my electrical boxes that the plastic had split down the side they were so over tightened by the electrician who wired my home and he did it by hand. Fortunately, no shorts or fires. I always twist my wires together first, and 12 gauge is a PITA, THEN install the wire nut by hand and tighten it slightly more with pliers to make sure it's snug. Now this tool will make that part easier. I never use wire nuts to do the wire twisting, always pliers first. I've found wire nuts to be very inconsistent at twisting the wires together properly, sometimes finding one wire loose inside. My only gripe is that this tool won't fit wire nuts larger than the reds. Grays or blues do not fit. Since red and yellow are the most common ones used, it's not an issue. The manufacturer would probably have to make a separate tool for the larger sizes.

Works as designed . The one down side is if your wire nuts don’t have the wings you have to push us all the way in . Not to big of a deal . But noted.
